Quote:Which again seems wierd, given; The 'technical reasons' they mention (and this has been spelled out by Positron, IIRC) is that they can only add 2 more attachment points to the player skeleton due to engine limitations; and they want to make really sure we want backpacks / knee guards before they do it so we don't then clamor for arm bands and hip holsters.
Plus there're possible clipping issues, but I think the developers are slowly realizing we don't care about clipping as much as they think we do.
Quote:Well unless they've done some major shifting since i9; I have seen it's possible to have a backpack as a back detail and it must've hooked on to the same point as the cape being that it was mutually exclusive with them, much the same as wings are. And it wasn't a bug in the creator; it was a bug from using the character transfer before they fixed it so we didn't get turned into G-Ms by using it. -
It seemed to get ported to a lot of mobs who never used to have it a while back. Cant remember when, but it never got changed.
Personally I agree, and really dont like it. But, given it only lasts until I start killing things...I dont see overly much of it to really annoy me

Now THAT gets my /signed right there

As a reserved, cordial, and relatively timid individual, I can say, pretty safely, that while appreciated in a sense, this is basically a huge slap in the face. You can view it as courtesy, and that's fine, but others will take it as more or less insulting.Quote:But to post it IN the PvP Forums is a slap in the face, since you know....it's all about PvE now.
Quote:You can't lump everyone in a community with one big stamp and assume that they are all the same. Yes, the PvP community may have more "in your face" people than other communities, but it also has a lot of intelligent, knowledgeable, and polite members.
Ahh, Golden Girl would be proud. Two slaps in the face already? One of them huge? Awesome.
I can easily see people getting hyped with CoP coming back, then the absolute ungodly eff-ing firestorm when it came out and people started screaming "Why's it not got PvP?! You said it was CoP!! That means IoP!!"
So...damned if they do, damned if they don't.
And sure ya can, Flea. Everyone knows us RPers are all, without fail, evil trans-gender freaks who spend all day in Pocket D gleeing out over badly done ERP in the corner. How dare you claim that there is courtesy, intelligence and acceptability in the PvP community! How dare you, sah!

For the record: It wasn't perfect, but I too prefered Pre-I13 PvP. I could actually take teleport. My Mastermind didnt suddenly magically lose about 20% of his defence due to wierd voodoomath with the numbers. And my Stalker didnt suddenly forget how to jump just because he stabbed someone...Eesh. -
Ow....just....ow.
I bow before the Mad SCIENCE! genius that is Tomb...that girl will go far.

Quote:/Signed so many times.I was advised to repost this here, as it's an animation/emote matter, so I'm reposting here:
I just found something which our characters are capable of doing which I would LOVE to see added to the game as a legitimate emote. In the editor, when you're editing your weapon and you zoom in, your character will do this:
-image-
Could we please, please, PLEASE have that as an in-game emote? That would be so cool for all sorts of weapon users!
I love the emote on dual pistols (crossed across the chest) and claws (both held up, blades extended, although crossed over the chest would be awesome too) -
"Hmn...that was...interesting. To say the least."
"Something not technologcial, thats for sure brother. Unable to trace."
"Meh. Don't bother. Track the earpiece I gave Game back at the party and Haileys Corporation kit, providing she's got it on her. Why jump through hoops when we have the easy way of doing things?"
"We could always stay, and blow the bolts out of whatever freaks the Court sends..."
"Tempting. But no. We don't want things compromised on that front just yet...let's track the nutcases. I get the feeling this is either gonna be fun, or messy. Maybe a little bit of both."
"...Given the people we're talking about, you do realise that could be taken the wrong way out of context?"
"....Gah! Remind me why I gave you my sarcastic wit again? Sheesh...Come on, let's move!" -
"Multiple robotic contacts, five organics or otherwise."
"Sheesh...Remind me how the damn tiger managed to live this long again?"
"Fast reflexes? Really big guns? Running and Hiding? Blind Luck?"
"Ugh, probably a mix of all of 'em. Keep 'em monitored. If things go wrong, we get the party started."
"Roger that." -
AP...
Large 'Hunt X' zone missions are the work of Satans backside. Understood?
So far, so good though. *packages the ideas and bombards Paragon Studios with them*

QR to OP;
I object more to being treated like a lackey, servant or minion throughout nearly all, if not indeed ALL, of my villanous career.
The I17 missions were the FIRST time I got treated like the guy someone ELSE wanted to work FOR. That, to me, was win.
Heroes getting treated like that? Ok, I can swallow that. The contacts are asking you to do something you signed up to do; become a Hero and save people. That works.
Villain side? I would have shot nearly half the contacts by now, for daring to talk to me like they do. On a good number of characters.
And don't get me started on VEATs. Please. Just don't. It hurts >_> -
Quote:I do.The same reason other NPC pieces aren't available that fulfill those requirements? I don't see a problem here.
They've said for a long damn time that backpieces, like the VG back armour, haven't been possible for 'technical reasons'.
Going on that post, not only is it possible to give characters back details so long as they are exclusive to capes and the like, AND hip details like the VG plates, but it's been available since I9. And hasn't been given to Player Characters yet.
Why? I'm waiting to see if David actually gets back to that one or not. But I'd be very interested in an answer. -
Quote:Wait, wait, wait...
WHAT?!
Your telling me that back part was actually possible in game, didn't clip, didn't slip and fulfilled the back criteria a la capes and wings etc? And we STILL dont have it?
...Someone better have a DAMN good reason why this is still player locked, or so help me...

Loving the look of these so far. Much better laid out than the outdated rust-nuts that are the current TFs. Keep it up AP!

Quote:Leon leaned on the katana, which surprisingly for a slim blade took his weight.Lucard smiled as HellsKiller disappeared, lowering his emptied guns, Lucard looked at Leon and sighed. "see the rabble you hae allied yourself with Leon? the ones who would kill all our kind no matter what our aims or allegiences. Will you no see your way clear to at least staying out of this war? look around you, your kinsman lay dead around you and this place once considered safe is a butcher hole. Lay down your swords and i will lay down my guns. Let us talk about this. Or would you rather we continue this pointless duel?". Lucard extended a hand, his pistol turned back with the barrel pointed to the floor, in a friendly gesture towards a ceasefire between the two vampires.
"Rabble? I'd usually attribute that to a bunch of child stealers who are too used to getting their own way," he shot back, before shrugging. "I don't claim to like all of them, the same way I don't like all of you. I have friends in Paragon and the Isles. I'll do what I've always done; look after myself, the people I give a damn about, and try and maintain some semblance of balance in this world."
He tossed the blade up into the air with another shrug, the sword vanishing into nothing as he turned on his heel. "It was entertaining, if nothing else. I was mostly after information. Good evening to you," he tipped his hat to the room in general, before vanishing out the door. -
Didn't even read the thread. This is a reeeeeal bad idea.
Good luck on that, guys...eesh. -
Quote:I had hoped to make the Devs realise this a little. I certainly said it enough times on the EU Test Dev Q&A whenever that last was. I17 I think.I think the original posters point is so blatently obvious, most people wont even bother to psot to agree with it.
That is the problem with MMO's though, they spend a lot of time adding new and amazing stuff, adding better tech, raising the standard and the bar....
...but then forget about all the old crap and leave it as a horrible experience.
For example, I have been trying to get my brother back into the game. I keep telling him how it has changed and how much it has improved, yet he makes a new character and begins to play the first 10 levels and gets bogged down in "Kill 10 Lost or Kings Row" or "Visit that cop guy in Hollows" or "Kill 10 Circle of Thorns mystics in Perez Park" or "Speak to the Steel Canyon Security Chief". or "Speak to the Boomtown Security Chief" or...do I really need to go bloody on??
Granted, Going Rogue will be a great boon for this issue, and I don't want to see the devs spend 9 months revisiting all old content whilst giving us nothing else to do. Yet in my mind, I can't think why this stuff is just blatently abandoned. I don't want a huge revamp, but why not cull some of the god awful missions that plague low level contacts and just tidy it up a bit??
I agree completely with the Shadow Shard stuff by the way. It should be opened up to Villains as well. But I would prefer to have low level stuff cleaned up first.
However, despite it being said multiple times, I have yet to see any evidence of it sinking in. Hopefully after GR...hopefully. -
