The LRSF is impossible for all but the most ardent powergamers
[/ QUOTE ]
Get skillz. I've completed it with non power-gamers in the past. It's probably a little harder than the STF, but eh, we villains have more ways to cheat. -
EM is okay. It's nothing special, and is eclipsed by DM in mitigation and damage. It has the second best damage type of the stalker primaries, which gives it somewhat of an edge against s/l primaries, but it's still overly nerfed.
The new form of Barrage isn't bad. Depending on your level of recharge, yes, Energy Punch is good to have, especially in the low levels. -

Because CO looks like crap?
Comicy crap, but crap.
[/ QUOTE ]
It looks like a comic book, and frankly, comic books look like crap. Poor them for sticking to their heritage. -

Ack, incorrect use of bully. "Bully for bushlad" is a cheer for "bushlad."
[/ QUOTE ]
Whoopsie. I've heard it used the other way on several occasions. If I misused it, well, my apologies ^_^ -
[ QUOTE ]
This is actually better than the other article I saw on Wired, which flat out said:
[ QUOTE ]
So now, any user-created mission that is exploitative will get deleted, and users who played it will get their XP retroactively lowered, or even lose their character. So what counts as exploitative? One or two of the exploits are pretty obvious, but its really unclear where the line is drawn.
[/ QUOTE ]
The whole thing feels like written by a Rikti farmer who is pissed his favorite exploit got nerfed. Way to generate negative press with incorrect information.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh, what's incorrect about it? That's taken nearly verbatim from Positron's announcement. -

Typically the -act- of raising the dead is considered evil.
[/ QUOTE ]
What if it's not forced? What if the Necromancer asks the nice spirit if he wants to come help? Sort of like a voodoo witch: "Hear me, oh spirits of darkness! ... That's the guy. *point*" -

i'll go one week more than you (kinda like bidding 1 dollar more on lets make a deal)

Beat you to it, bish ^_^ -

Lack of encouragement never stopped anyone before, from all appearances.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's making me consider whether to make a goodbye post in a few months, simply because I'm likely to mention several features that will be on my wishlist and it might be construed as a parting 'shot' (like the phrase play, rian; occurred to me when I wrote 'parting thought'). -

"Champions Online is new so it will kill CoX"
I got tired of hearing it too. Most of this seems to come from people who left here bitter
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe you should wonder WHY they're leaving bitter.
Maybe the devs should too.
[/ QUOTE ]
[snark] Yes, because they, like, NEVER come to the boards and SAY why they're bitter and leaving (repeatedly)! This is mysterious and unknown information! [/snark]
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, given the OP's post and the resounding chorus of "YEAH! You tell 'em, Mr. Hypocrite!", leaving a few parting thoughts doesn't appear to be encouraged. -

Sorry but stalkers have been buffed many times more then they have been nerfed these last 3 years.
[/ QUOTE ]Also as i sit here and think about it name these so called buffs i'm missing? Because AC the op of this thread, the whole reason i know his name aint from this thread it's because for three years he has been campaigning to fix stalkers. I have read several of his post to various things from helping stalkers on teams, to stalkers versus AV's.
No i sir i don't see what your talking about, i highly doubt AC would waste his time if all was well like you say.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm certainly not going to waste my time any more. PvP is so f'd up, it vastly transcends any stalker issues.
Placate should still be fixed though. It's a bug, it should be fixed. Simple as that. -

Just seems that way....

Used to be pretty active. It's been quiet ever since the Nin vs. EA wars ended. -

"Champions Online is new so it will kill CoX"
I got tired of hearing it too. Most of this seems to come from people who left here bitter, or others who mindlessly jump onto a brand new bandwagon every time it starts.
It was an interesting post, however.

For the past five years, CoH/V has had no direct competition targeting its thematic demographic. For the past five years, the rather more positive/optimistic individuals of the forum have pointed to CoH/V's subscriber stability as a testament to the quality of the game itself.
Could these be coincidental? Could the former be causal to the other? I feel both situations are quite plausible. There is no way of knowing how direct competition will affect the subscriber base. It's entirely possible that with not one but two upcoming major titles targeted at CoH/V's niche demographic, we could start to see significant population dropoffs. It could just as easily facilitate a much more unstable population, leading to more rapid and more linear population decline working over a period of years rather than a single quarter. And of course, CoH/V could indeed be unique in its high stability and high retention rate, and neither game will so much as dent the subscriber base.
The point is, we don't know. It's a bold claim to say that the game will remain stable. Moreover, it's wishful thinking. I sincerely doubt any subscriber base has foretold its own death knell. Sooner or later, this game will die; whether in a year or ten years, it will die. Do you really think any of you people will admit to the truth when the time really does come, even with direct evidence staring you in the face? My guess is: not likely. -
I tried reading as long as I could before I died of sheer boredom. And that was just the tl;dr section.
Edit: Whoa, M_B... that search tip in your sig is a life-changer. I never knew that. -

Having to draw the mace for Surveilance would suck for all the people out there using the Hybrid and huntsman builds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bully for them. Only reason you'd use Hybrid or Huntsman is for AoE, and Surveillance is of little benefit to such builds anyway. -
I think Banes' issue is that, to make maximum use of its potential, you must be unwieldy. Imagine a Broadsword/Kin Scrapper with Hide and Hidden criticals. To make use of the kin side, he must de-Hide himself. Additionally, using the kin side puts his sword away, requiring redraw. When using the Venom Grenade, you de-Cloak yourself, preventing yourself from criticalling on the first strike. When using Surveillance, you put away your Mace, requiring redraw; this increases the time between strikes, and lowers your DPS. Additionally, since both -res effects are so short-lived--correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe both are 20s--these issues will continuously pop up.
That exacerbates the already-existent Bane issue of long cast times. -

Could you cite your source?
[/ QUOTE ]
*facepalm*
[/ QUOTE ]
... Could you cite your source? NCSoft mysteriously stopped posting subscription numbers last quarter.
Fact is, you can't. If you can criticise others for stating something without proof--like "the game is dying ONOZ"--then you can't criticise others for that same criticism. It's called hypocrisy, and is not very becoming. -
If you can't find PvP on Freedom, you won't anywhere.

The devs will be too engorged to do anything.

Which I think is the root of this post. They've gotten too many baskets of goodies, and feel bad because if they keep getting this many, they'll have to start chunking some. -

No, it's not, because accepting your word as factual is like considering a faith healer and a medical doctor equivalent to one another.
No offence, but you've come out with a lot of BS claims in the past.
