Wow sorry mate
If I knew you where gonna get a flaming like that I wouldn't of asked you to post your build.
I'm fuming at these people who are more interested in shoving there own probably over inflated opinions down your throat than listening to your questions or opinions. -
Master Extreme-*puts his arm round Raven33 and leads him to a quite part of the gym* Now mate you don't want to be swinging your arms round like that just hit em, just hit him as hard as you can, just 1 hit that's all you need. Go on give it a go.
If you like playing the odds look at this math.
Dmg per sec = Dmg / Recharge time + Cast time
so
Flurry = 8.3 ( 50/3+3 )
whereas
Boxing = 9.6 ( 33.8/2.5+1 )
some 15 % better
as to your tank build post the mids data block and I'll have a look if you like. -

Edit: Actually, set up a SG base with an Insp Storage unit next to one of those Medibay Insp Factory things, and you could go to town with this. Spend a while converting to large insps and putting them into storage, then finish by filling your own tray with larges and leaving the rest for SG members to use.
[/ QUOTE ]
Standoff you have an awfully devious mind. Wanna team sometime -
Nice one Standoff that is an angle I hadn't thought of but anyone can fill there tray with smalls anyway and now with the new 3 for 1 rule it's easier to get hold of what you need.
My main reason for suggesting this is the distortion in the market caused IMO by PvP. Everyone in PvP wants to go out with a tray full of larges of there favourite type and are willing to pay for it leading to vastly escalated prices on WW. So the poor PvE er who can take that &%^* AV if he only had a couple of large purple and maybe a large green is presented with a bill for 1/4 of a mill inf.
Any other suggestions for for solving this problem would be gratefuly appreciated it just seems wrong that a 1 min boost should cost u more than a couple of SO's.
*edited for clarity -
If you can change 3 insps into any other of the same lvl why not combine 3 into another insps of the same type but of a higher lvl.
-
GG's hankering after moving hair again I'm sure.
Imagines scene in Dev's office 'Well if you can make that seaweed wave why can't you make my bob er bob'
-
Depends on what powerset you have chosen my lvl 36 inv tank runs at :-
Def smash- 10-30 dependent on how many mobs in melee
fire- 10-30
Res smash- 75%
fire- 14%
where as my lvl 25 fire tank runs
Def smash- 3
fire- 3
Res smash- 40%
fire- 70%
Not sure about any other powersets as I've never played them, my advice would be get a copy of mids hero designer and have a good look for yourself, hope this is of some help. -
Posting a copy of this here as well as there seems to be 2 threads disscusing the same subject.
Just a couple of EM points
1/ Energy melee is the powerset with the highest dmg output by a fairly long way considering the figures I saw but does this still hold true if you minus the Dmg taken from ET.
2/ Now I don't know how much diffrence 1 mag lvl makes in PvP but it makes a world of diffrence in PvE is it worth crippling the top power in the set to satisfy a perceived inbalance in PvP.
So this leaves us with the questions, is the problem PvP stuns if so is this problem really only unique to this set if not then surely bolstering defences would be a 'Quiter' and more effective way to address the problem. If however the dmg output is the problem then maybe a slight increase in timings may be justified though I would suggest as an alernative using ET's already excistant downside and increasing it ie. increase self dmg to a % of dmg done rather than a set figure that must be fairly insignificant as no-one has thought to mention it so far in this thread, leaving people who want to do 500+ dmg thinking twice. -
Don't know the reason for removing this feature but IMO it has created a nasty loophole in trial accounts. Now most responsible team leaders (the type you want your rookies to team with) will send you a tell before inviting you if no reply is forthcoming no invite is sent. No tells no way to approach an active team for an invite. I don't think they have friends lists either so there is also no way to easily hook up with a charecter you have already met.
I realise trials had to be nerfed to prevent people abusing the system but I think this aspect has removed alot about what is good in the game (building and joining teams, expanding circle of friends etc.) not really the best way to advertise your product to a new player. -
Thank you muchly that works just fine now. That will save my poor fingers much work while LFT. Cheers again.
-
/macro LDR /tell $target, Is there any space on your team and if so who is you team leader if you dont mind me asking?
tried this macro with and without quotes but doesn't do what I expected can anyone correct me? -
Now I've never PvP'd but the biggest complaint that I have heard against it is that super powered movement creates an imbalance between melee and ranged combat.
This is my suggestion for a solution to this problem which I like to call the 'Kinetic Suppresion Field'. The idea is some technological genius has invented a force field that converts kinetic energy directly to heat and pure energy.
So what is the effect of these things when installed throughout the PvP zones (by both sides as they try to gain an advantage but just end up countering each other) well moving is going to cost you. What's it going to cost you well Hp from all the burns and additional friction, the faster you want to move the more it's going to cost you. Sprint and hover would be a fairly slow tick whereas boosts of SS and SJ would be like taking a moderate hit so if you want to use them you need to be careful of how and how often.
The one flaw in this idea is that everyone in a PvP zone needs to travel at LvL 2 speeds or travel/heal/travel/heal. The solution I would suggest is that both groups have also installed CCTV and have units assigned to observe the zones, when known enemies are spotted a warning comes up informing the opposing side ie. 3 heroes spotted loc 23N 8W. These warnings would be at intervals say 2 mins and would only reveal one random enemy group on a map, and may be suppresed by stealth. This I think could lead to interesting games of hide and seek, amushes and blatent here I am come get some. Another adaptation of this might be battle warnings, that if a fight goes on too long a warning will be broadcast, allowing reinforcements to make they way to the battle site. This warning might not be reliable and would even go off when you attack random mobs in the zone, another fun way to set up an ambush. This might also have an option for registering a group name when a team is formed or not so messages appear as 'The PWNRZ (or unkown)are at loc 32S,45W', same with char name.
While thinking about this I thought what also might be nice is a team leader channel so that when you enter a zone the team leader is entered in a channel allowing for cross zone comunication by allies adding another element of group within group dynamics. (thinking about it I've never been in a zone so they might already have there own channels.)
This is not written in anyway to cause any offense and as I say I'm still at 0 xp Pvp wise, I know that everyone invovled probably loves there game and I could be opening myself up to one hell of a roasting, but for my part I enjoy problem solving and this is just my attempt to do just that, I also enjoy sharing my ideas with others which I have obviosly done.
Another solution I read to this problem is to give everyone some sort of device that produces a movement suppresion field, that the closer you move to an enemy the slower you move allowing melee alts to trap another in there field briefly. This is probably a simpler solution to the problem though I still like the idea of some sort of enemy radar however unreliable. -
Only just geting interested in PvP myself but if melee is underpowered anyway why nerf it's best set instead of adding small bonuses to the other melee sets making them and melee in general more viable. The rich get richer etc..
-
Cheers mate. Think they could have come up with a more descriptive error message myself.
-
What does it mean when you go to the arena and try and watch an event and it gives you this message?
-
No pretty sure the fight was active according to the timing column. Perhaps I should have posted this under Arena/PvP

Yikes...not very helpful are you?
Yes but I can't even spell tank properly ( has anyone seen my Tankl? )
Anyways...learn as you go really. You won't be of much use before you get ET and TF at lvl 35 and 38 I'm afraid as those are your only big hitters. Bonesmashers ok but not great.
Fiery Aura:
Make sure you slot your resistances (obvious I know but still).
may seem obvious but then I can't even spell tank (err I think my embaressment might be showing)
Skip Temperature Protection.
Yes it looked kinda week
I would take Blazing Aura and Burn for levelling but skip it for PvP.
Isn't blazing aura my taunt arua and as so is it wise to drop it as I will mostly be partaking in group PvP. Also burn is immob protection do you think the leaping pool is better for that, I'm usually a superspeeder as it follows hasten would leap be a better option as it gives you some vertical movement?
Consume...well...depends on playstyle whether you want to keep it for PvP or not.
Think this will depend on my end managment
Energy Melee:
Take Whirling Hands for levelling but skip for PvP.
Energy Punch is pretty bad and I would probably skip it both for PvE and PvP.
Whirling hands I'd agree, can't imagine engaging more than 2 or 3 at a time making the damage rather week, Energy punch has a small stun effect though which might stack depends if my attack chain is lacking really I thnk
Actually never really used Stun (or needed it) so I'm not sure what to say here.
This I was quite attracted to as the idea of stacking stuns to stun the 'unstunnable' could give you an element of surprise
Must haves are. Build Up, Energy Transfer, Total Focus and to a lesser extent Bonesmasher.
Looks good to me
Special note: Taunts a musthave for team PvP but obviously not needed if you just wish to duel.
Other than that dip into the leaping, speed and fitness pool.
I see the leaping pool as the knarley problem here:- Combat Jumping- immob protection but without the dmg effect burn provides, Super jump - usually take SS as travel power as it follows hasten so is the vertical potential worth the extra power slot, Acrobatics-3 slots is expensive for kb protection. So I'm unsure how deep to venture into this pool if at all
Hope that was a bit more helpful.
Yes great cheers

The technical difficulties I brought up earlier ( animation rigging) certainly isn't a deal breaker all the code appears to exsist in one form or another to make it happen, I really made the arguement in reply to some people who seemed to think it would be as easy as changing an M to an F (or H) in your costume change save file.
That aside I would like to see this happen because the same coding would also allow you to change size with costume change something I've wanted to do for a couple of my charecters (one I wanted to regress to childhood, the second wanted to produce a small robotic version of his armour).
As to the controversy IMHO it's just another tool to assist are imaginations, if for some reason you have a twisted and warped imaginiations (can already here the cries of 'what like me?' echo around the forums) whatever tool you are given you will use to you're own ends. Given that no-one can really be hurt by anyone 'misusing' this tool then I think it should be made available to those who would enjoy using it.
Is this going to happen for i13/14 I doubt it but we might eventually see it and I for one hope we do. -
I've got a better idea let's just remove power choices totally so we can all run around with sprint, brawl and an apprentice charm/taser. That will surely make everything entirly fair!!!!
-
Never done any PvP before but I'm looking to roll out a fire/energy tank to give it a go. Anyone got any advice on PvP tanking in general or that power combination in particular. Thanks.
-
My global is in my sig feel free to tell me if your running a TF if I have the time and a alt in lvl range I'll be there.
As to organizing TF's, the way that most people go about it on the forums is post a potential start time/ date/ lvl range and ask if anyone is interested. This gives people the chance to know when they will be commiting themselves.
/edited to remove petty abuse -
I would question the use of recharge redux in your attacks my DB usually has one combo possible without the need for recharge other than Ablating strike. Might be diffrent at higher lvls not really sure.
If you have a respec available then I would drop the jumping pool and resilience for stamina especially as you say you have end managment problems. (also freeing up more slots in your attacks)
I would question the advice of 4 slotting a power that you only want to enhance one aspect of, 3 should be more than enough.
Slotting travel powers has very little effect other than a slight QoL aspect. And I would advice 3 slotting hasten for recharge.
Hope this is of some help
