Trial tells

Don't know the reason for removing this feature but IMO it has created a nasty loophole in trial accounts. Now most responsible team leaders (the type you want your rookies to team with) will send you a tell before inviting you if no reply is forthcoming no invite is sent. No tells no way to approach an active team for an invite. I don't think they have friends lists either so there is also no way to easily hook up with a charecter you have already met.
I realise trials had to be nerfed to prevent people abusing the system but I think this aspect has removed alot about what is good in the game (building and joining teams, expanding circle of friends etc.) not really the best way to advertise your product to a new player.

To stop Infamy/Influence spamming from companies which the game forbids, maybe? Just a thought. They aren't actually going to pay to be banned now are they?

^ What Rapthorn said ^

While most of us were getting emails from these jerks, some people were getting GLOBAL tells from them everytime they logged in which means it didn't matter which toon you logged in as you would always get them. Given the prodigious rate at which they spam it was getting more irritating for some players (as they have your global and could keep setting up new trials accounts so the process would go on ad nauseum).

It would be good if you could get a notice that the person you are /tell-ing is on a trial account so you can /tell them with something more suitable like 'meet at the globe'.

Perhaps they should make it so that Trial players can use /r so they can reply to a tell, but not initiate a /tell conversation. This would still enable trialers to get onto a team.

While it would be possible for RMT spammers to use reply to spam in response to an honest team invite, they would be /ignorespammer'd so fast they wouldn't survive long.

Yeah I agree too. My work mate (also my wife's ex-husband but that's another story) is going to play a buddy trial I sent him and it's going to be a pain to sync it all up. He's going to have to text me his newly created character's name so I can invite him to team with me.

I agree - you should be able to reply to tells. That wouldn't help the 'chinese gold farmers' we've inherited from WOW, though I don't find them a problem ATM. Could get worse though.
