Cool would be;

Hmn....however, I've never seen that particular piece worn by any NPC, and also the rest of the char is all PC available, so...what with Maelstrom's working holsters, I think something may, if not finished yet, still be in the imminent works.

Paragon Outskirts, Evening of the 24th
Three figures stood looking over the city, one in front and two flanking it like a sort of honour guard.
"So...it's over?"
"For now, dear. At least, for the majority of the players. Still... I have unfinished business. I need to find...someone. Or someones, to be precise-"
"You mean the Council, father."
Leon DeFeurard smiled faintly, leaning on his sword, eyes shifting to bring Lawrence into the corner of his vision.
"Very astute, lad," he chuckled, before looking over the city once more. "Yes...the so called Council of Ten. Ex, ten, whatever way they say it. My business is with them. The 'Lords and Ladies'," he added with a humourless little smirk. "I need to ask another favour of you tw-"
"Consider it done," Maria said quietly.
Leon laughed, at last, glancing around and grinning, teeth glinting in the moonlight.
"Time for checkmate. Check. And. Mate." -

Problem solved...

Yeah. It's one of those days. -
Quote:"Grabbin' puke?!"Could we rename 'Serum' to 'Grabbing Pills'?
Also, I enjoyed LXG. Sure it wasn't the comics, but if you can ignore that it was at least entertaining, and refreshingly low on CGI. That car chase? Model work! Mister Hyde? Costume!
"Grabbin' Heroine- uh, I mean adrenaline." *stk* "Blaogahgthkjshgkghsgkjhshn-" *Thud* -
Quote:That's because you quantify 'Epic' as meaning 'Better than'. Epic here means 'Unique Storyline'. Epic a la the Epics of Homer (the Greek, not the Simpson)Not that the epic ATs being unlocked at lvl 20 realy qualify as epic anymore. Maybe have ones unlocked at different levels like costume slots.
While that fails miserably with VEATs, they make up for it by being badass anyway, so...win-win? -
...
Ok....what giant chunk of plot did I just miss that resulted in that last post? -

The ammount of times I've wished for this...
Sitting on the statue steps with a character who should just be lounging back in the sun.
Unconscious/wounded characters, use in the base med-bay, etc.
One of the 'proped up on one elbow' emotes used by, typically, the Longbow minion watching Television in Grandville.
For anyone who's going to whine about certain uses it might be put to...for crying out loud, if it's in a public zone then just /report them! That's what the damn function is for!
But if that's the one reason we don't have these emotes, that is so utterly god-damned lame. -
Quote:I still don't get why people hate on the League so much...I liked it, personally, and I'm damned critical of movies.Well, neither do the PPD. They start out as beat cops in uniform and move on to SWAT guys in fatigues. Basically, your run-of-the-mill Equaliser and Ghost are... Pretty much a carbon copy of your run of the mill Mercenaries SpecOps, but with a few powers switched around. And in the Talos Mayhem, SWAT and Hard Suits show up in the same spawns. The game already gives us precedent for "stronger = more tech" when it comes to armed forces, at least up to a point. All I'm saying is we can copy what the game has already established.
Problem is, as long as we keep the guy as... Well, just a guy, I don't know what you could do to him to make him stand out. I actually feel that going with Arnold Schwarzenegger's Commando may have been the mistake, because we have soldiers, then soldiers in masks, then what is ostensibly a Vietnam-era soldier. Again. For some reason, I feel that... That...
...
Let me think out loud here for a second. Imagine a buzz-cut white-hair old man with a giant cigar who goes into battle in a tank top and dog tags and a perpetual scowl. I know the Commando is kind of like that anyway, but the Commando is basically every action hero ever made rolled up into one. He's the likely hero. He's the macho man in an army of macho men. "The old guy" isn't as likely of an action hero for the simple fact that he's old and shouldn't be as fit. But because he's a long-time veteran, because he's so grizzled and exactly BECAUSE he's so unlikely is why he stands out more.
I know everyone hates the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and for good reason, but I feel casting an elderly Sean Connery as a badass action her, to the point where the bad guy remarks "I hope I age as kindly as you do!" Seems like the only way to make just a normal guy stand out is to break a few tropes. Or...
You know what just occurred to me? You know what would make the Commando stand out? What would make him unique among henchmen? If he weren't a he at all. Just picture a final henchman who's a brawny lady with a big backpack and a chaingun. She wouldn't have to be giant, she wouldn't have to be eccentric. Just having your toughest, most dangerous soldier and heavy weapons specialist be a woman would be distinct enough as it is
Granted, but the chances of an NPC getting that are far superior to the chances of us getting it, so I try to put in a suggestion for it wherever I can.
My favourite part was right at the beginning;
Sanderson Reed: "But...he's so far away!"
*Quatermain lowers rifle, grumbles."
Reed: "Yes...Yes I thought so."
*Quatermain pulls out a pair of glasses, puts them on*
Quatermain: "Gods, I hate getting old..."
*Raises rifle, puts a bullet in the running man who was now at the other end of the village*
If they made the Commando...hell, even re-name 'em to Veteran, give him assault and maneuvers or something, and some nasty tricks up his sleeve.
And while the female Commando could also work, I think they'd probably want to finish work on alternate pet sets first

Holy CRAP!
It's you! The one who did the Transformers and Unicron Orchestral themes!!
/Freaks out
And gods damnit, why have you not been hired to do the Music for Paragon Studios? That was epic. The CoV theme is good, but that just blows it out of the water!
Edit: Just listened to the CoH theme. Ye gods, I love it. I want to replace my games sound files with those ones! Please! -
That's still fairly unhelpful, especially for an EU player. And it's buried all the way in the darkest depths of support...why? What's the point in hiding it away like that?
-
If PvP was even half-way terrible....that'd be an improvement on what it is now.
Having that? In Open zones? No. No thank you. -

As in;
£x = 1 month
£y = 3 months
£z = 6 months
Seriously, what the hell? I've been trying to find what the monthly costs are for a friend and I can't actually find the smegging things. Anywhere! Even wikipedia doesn't have them!
Just...what's the point of hiding them away where people can't find them? Anyone know what they are again? -

....
Oh, wait, you were being serious?
You have read these forums before, right? You have seen the PvP outside of zones ideas before? And what happened to them, with good reason? -
Quote:You called?can i get a /FACEPALM??? seriously, someone let me borrow their best /facepalm.
you are so wrong even if you clicked your heals together 3 times and said there's no place like home you would still end up in a different universe.
edit: that sword is teh shizznit. i wonder if the most interesting man in the world has one in his collection?

I was surprised they didn't use Pepper kissing the helmet instead of him then throwing it out for him to go fetch. That bit worked really well (especially the 'You complete me!' as he bails out)
But yeah, the rest was a little odd for me XD -
1) Sadly, yes. Some folks will quit if the going seems to be too tough. Sometimes this is perfectly valid, as Diggis said, when the leader is being a tool, or too many people on the team are being dense or just plain rude. Sometimes it is a genuine and sudden RL occurence. I've had to bail due to having to drive someone somewhere in real life at short notice and stuff like that. You get the good and the bad all mixed together.
2) The example you give is an example of people just being a bit rude. I will put friends and SG stuff over PuGs, but I will at least have the courtesy to finish a mission, unless we've just started. Usually we schedule stuff before hand, so I know in advance when to duck out and whatnot. Again, you will get the good mixed with the bad.
3) is also the most toolish. 1) still applies here, however. I've quit a TF or two because the team didn't have the foggiest what to do, people were rude and leader seemed to have about half a brain cell to bounce around. People with good reasons will usually explain them (real life has an annoying habit of getting in the way at times).
Welcome to the game, however, and glad you're enjoying it

So. Damn. Awesome.
I want one D= -
But, seriously....this is overkill. People wear worse, much worse than that...every freaking day!
That's pretty modest compared to some of the stuff you see out on the street in the UK evenings...Sheesh.
