Longbow Threat Report STLKR EM/Nin - It can be inferred that although the heroes hunted down the majority of Cybrid civilization in retaliation for their genocidal acts towards humainty, Cybrids chose to infiltrate human society, rather than completely retreat from the galaxy. The only known Cybrid through out the galaxy is Mercury. Cybrids are shown to have no emotions or feelings, including pain, sadness, or even fear of death. Furthermore, it is unknown whether they eat, drink, sleep or anything that may be a trait of living. The intentions of this group are unknown, as conclusions cannot be drawn from an individual concerning an entire group, but it is known that those humans who are aware that there are Cybrids among them are naturally suspicious of their motives.

Not overly cool, but... It is to me.
I like motion shots, ya see.
I get bored really easy.
And even gave myself a ticket for speeding!
I really should take more screenshots that aren't of me just goofing off. Or posing for the camera. :s

What you doing here? D=
I thought PvPers didn't associate with RPers -
First off - I enjoyed reading the story. I love reading about villains/bad guys who have those conflicts with themselves and have to question themselvse. "Straight" villains are like "ARRGG!! No mercy ! Kill everything!!!" Is just well..boring as hell.
Secondly - I personally am not an RP person or a story teller. I have read exactly zero of the hero comics or "canon" (Whatever the hell that is)
I mainly stick to the PvP section of the boards because that's what's fun for me.
*GASP!* You've got a PvPer reading threads in the RP Section! Stop the servers!!!
But I also enjoy reading, and I enjoyed reading this a lot. As some people mentioned, I personally thought the story ended when LR spared her life, and the pocket D scene is just an epilogue. I can see why you put it in, but ultimately in my head it ended in the previous chapter.
Edit-
Favorite line
The strong survive. The weak perish. That is as it should be.
BTW I loved the dialogue...particularly whatever Lord Recluse said. Instead of describing him through words, I'm able to get a better look of who he is by what he says. Probably pointing out the obvious just wanted to comment on how good the dialogue was . -

Oooooooooh. Or Scirocco AND Ghost Widow.
Now I have something to do tomorrow while bored at work.
In the meantime, you can always read "The Course of Superhero Romance"...

Sounds awesome!
First time I read Scirocco's description in RV I was like "Wow, that's cool!"
Imad Malak was not always an evil man. Evil came to him from without. He was traveling in the deep desert near the Baka Valley deep in the Middle East. There he discovered an ancient tomb and stumbled inside. The tomb was that of a long-dead desert hero, and contained several objects of power including the bottle of the djinn Serafina. Also within was the hero's scimitar that granted the wielder incredible powers. Malak took the sword and donned the mantle of Scirocco. Unfortunately, he fell under a curse and was driven to commit acts of great evil. He sold the other objects off to the highest bidder, the bottle ending up with the Circle of Thorns. Once a hero of the people, he is now a dark stain on their proud heritage. Imad wishes nothing more than to find some way to rid himself of the curse and find redemption. -

I'm working on a villain story, actually... I might do a one-shot for you, though - anyone in particular I should write about? (Like well known NPC)
And hey, my I-13 teaser featured a villain for once... I'm doing my best to promote redside content!
[/ QUOTE ]
Awesome! Can't wait to see this villain story
Well known NPC? First one that comes to mind is Scirocco or Ghost Widow. -
Hey, great story.
I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I associate RPing ---> badgers ----> noobs in PvP----> complain on the forums about how PvP is "broken". So heh.
RPing doesn't suit my fancy but I do enjoy reading. And I enjoyed reading that. Real nice write up!
Edit : Do some villain stuff. You know you want too -

Destroy Castle's list he posted earlier. It's evil. -

Is everyone satisfied with the heal and toxic resist? Do we need anything else?
[/ QUOTE ]
I would've preferred more defense over the toxic resistance. The resistance to toxic is useless on my build because I've got the build the way I want it and I have no use for energy protection. -
The Nemesis staff from the Nem boss stuns.
And I believe the Colonel's melee attack also stuns. When he stabs you with his bayonet and it explodes. (I could be wrong about this one) -
Why are they choosing this plan of action in regards to FA and weapons mastery? Why couldn't they just make it so you could respec into the new power instead of it being swapped out. And there's still the question of IOs that were slotted in the power that was replaced. What happens to those? Why this course of action? Didn't they at least see people would throw a hissy fit about logging in on day and then *BAM* you've got a new power and you lost the one you had before.
And why did no one mention Patron powers? -

You seem to be pretty pissed the [censored] off in your post above. I don't see the PvP forums exploding like you did. -

4. As one example of the Epic/Patron changes, Castle mentions that Weapon Mastery for Scrappers will now include Focused Accuracy. If his memory is correct.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but this is ridiculous if FA remains a 20% +tohit buff and doesn't go into villain hands.
[/ QUOTE ]
I particularly loved how there was no mention how Patrons were changed or if Stalkers/Brutes get FA.
What happens to the IOs/SOs you have placed in the weapon mastery power that got replaced by FA? Web nade you can slot immob, caltrops damage/slow, Shuriken and exploding shurken both can be slotted with damage.
Do those IOs just *poof* disappear? It'd be a shame if you had a purple set of IOs in those powers and they were just outright gone, especially considering Castle said there was no respec, you'd log in and you'd have FA in place of the previous power.

I would much much prefer end drain protection over more energy defense.
[/ QUOTE ]
Am I a [censored] for asking for both? Does that make /EA overpowered?
[/ QUOTE ]
That depends. Would Electric Armor be overpowered with a cloak?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think it's fair to compare Electric armor to Energy Aura.
[/ QUOTE ]
Most if not all End drains are Energy Typed which is a defence that EA has in surplus. That is EAs priamary protection against end drains.
[/ QUOTE ]
With 3 level 50 Defense IOs in the shields /EA has 26.7% defense to Energy and 16.6% to negative energy.
With no toxic or psi defense.
While with electric if you slot the shields with 3 level 50 IOs, you're looking at capped Energy resistance, 31.3% resistance to negative energy, and 41.6% res to Psi. And you've got resistance to end drain and recovery debuff in Static shield. And some more end drain res in Grounded.
I still don't think it'd be overpowered to give /EA a bit more defense to Energy and similar end drain resistance as elec. -

It's stated that the changes listed in the I13 announcement are the major changes, but that there are still many minor changes to come. I really want to push for increased energy defense for EA at this point. Another 5% in kinetic shield sounds about right.
Does anyone else want to push with this? I think the heal and toxic resistance are great changes and fit with my desire to see the set made more consistent. But everyone is so happy with the listed changes to EA that I think the devs might call it good. But I think more energy defense fits thematically and would not overpower the set. I'd like the devs to at least tinker with some more energy defense during beta. Is anyone else on board with this?
[/ QUOTE ]
I for one wasn't "Happy" the list of changes to /EA, but I wasn't unhappy either. I was just expecting more. I'd think seeing as how it's ENERGY Aura it should have more defense to energy based attacks, so yes I agree. But hey what do I know? I guess I don't know anything about /EA brutes or stalkers.
[ QUOTE ]
irst, it will shut up those who whine about the lack of endurance drain protection
[/ QUOTE ]
Why not just give it end drain protection?
[ QUOTE ]
while I would not disagree with a greater degree of endurance drain protection (It IS the endurance/energy set, after all)
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, agreed.
[ QUOTE ]
as the most common drainers do energy or partly energy damage (freaks and arachnos).
[/ QUOTE ]
Freaks do -end? I thought major end drainers were Malta, carnies, and arachnos. -

i still expect more changes for EA than just these. we'll have to wait and see.
