    Skipping insulation bubble I could sortof understand, but with a FF bubble, even from a controller, does wonders for peoples defences. Seriously, I strongly advise showing your build. I'm sure there's a power that could better serve specced out for Deflection.

    Sorry, but I find, as others do, bubbles can make a huge difference: Be it on my scrapper, controller, tank, brute, blaster, they all go nuts in bubbles!

    Basic spines/dark advice: AoE AoE AoE! Quite a few End Reds! More AoE! Find a kinetic defender to look after your blue bar!

    Inventions you mean? Meh, I'm not very rich. Definatly try to get the +Recovery IOs and bonuses if you have pool toggles at all (Fighting, Leadership, leaping or whatever).
    Other than that, look out for +recharge set bonuses, though they'll be quite expensive to get.

    Archery was a set I wasn't going towards, because I've already got it on my blaster (level 38 Arch/energy) and yes, the nuke does rock.

    Hmm, I might end up making sonic/ instead for the extra damage, but the resistance doesn't quite match the defence of FF... ah well.

    Is it actually possible to do worthwhile AoE damage with a defender though? I'm not too fussed about secondary effects on this.

    I was thinking Rad, as that has 3 AoE attacks- and NRG has the scatter effect..

    I've done psi before, but it is more suited to ST I find. How would Elec and Rad compare AoE damage-wise?

    Right, here's the deal- I want to make a FF/ defender, with AoE attacks. Now I don't really like the sound of sonic (literally) and was thinking- what's the second biggest damaging secondary after sonic? This is for AoE PvE, in teams.
  15. Archery/Energy is great, mine's 38 atm, and I can just say- your biggest attacks are in your secondary. However, you can play a nice all-range blaster- and might be able to forgo stamina doing so, as the primary is cheap on end (the attacks from the secondary are a different matter).

    Also try and not pick up toggles from the pools- they will drain your end.

    Use conserve power in big fights, and try to slot an end red in a couple of your heavier attacks.
    But my advise is do NOT skip total focus- it is the best damaging attack that you get! You can stun a boss with it in one hit, so it can be useful even for that.

    So yeah, in a nutshell, it doesn't increase the radius of powers, but it's still very useful.

    Because I like my Blaster to be ranged and not crushed to death in melee And I've played so many melee toons that I want some ranged now.

    Sorry Weiss, but as far as I know it's not commonplace to slot Single Target Holds for damage

    It's a bit more common to slot single target immobs for damage though, as they are used by some for damage, and therefore don't need any duration.

    That's kinda the idea. Looking at Aid Other, I see it has a cost of 6.5, which could have a slot or so thrown in and be interrupted for use on a pet as a cheap alternative?

A pocket cold on a resistance based character would probably reduce that need to absolute 0 (pun intended) If you're able to regen the damage through natural rate faster than you're being hurt then you dont need green numbers

    I know how those corr shields make brutes ubah, but I try to build my brute to be efficient without a corr, as often there isn't one on my team.

    I was saying that replacing a self heal with health insps was just like replacing your shields with orange/purple/break free insps. Forgot to put in that post about removing shields.
