Seeking blastery advice

Hi, all,

So, recently having hit fifty with my Scrapper, I've gone on a frenzy of alts(this time around, I actually play them, not just make the costumes and go "ooh")

Anyway, one of the things I hated the most with my scrapper was the pesky PBAoE from certain Praetorians, and the Blasters always seemed to be floating about in the room, firing off beams of doom, while being perfectly safe. Thus, I want to do that too.

Obviously, this means that it won't be a blapper of sorts - I've begun playing an Archery/Energy, as that seemed good. A bunch of ranged attacks, a compulsory meelee attack to get stuff out of my face, and a lot of buffs. Though I have a few general things I'm wondering about;

1. From what I hear, Archery is supposedly end light. Does that mean I can do without taking Stamina at once(or at all), or will it end in me crashing down once my Hover drops?
2. Is taking Energy only for the boosts and buffs viable in the long run?
3. Which pools would you recommend I take?(Hover is a necessity to fulfill my image of being a blaster)
4. How are blaster attacks normally slotted? I know 2 Acc 3 Dam 1 Rchg works fine for my /Regen, but naturally, Blasters are different. Aren't they?
5. Seeing how I've already made the character and taken Exploding Arrow(don't like it), what is the absolutely first level I can get myself a respec?

Thanks for all responses

I think ya will find what ya looking for in what ya have chosen in archery energy and first respec is at 24 or any level with a freebie respec or vet respec.

The praetorian AV pbaoes are either at a certain hp level so ya could of backed off past 60ft at an exact point or its cos the tanker/greatest threat etc is in range of it with you.

1 You can go around without stamina, just in heat of battle and insane spam-age you might hit low on endurance. However, going /elec fix this by having powersurge, or energy with conserve. Just slot end-reds in all powers (use a herobuilder to see wich takes most effect).

2 no, every /secondair has its uses, viability and fun. It just depends what you want want most. Going full blaster (aka ranged) nrg boostrange/powerboost help a lot and you still have BU. I’ve seen quit a lot arch/dev’s, prob pvp based or sortlike. Any set can do, although /fire might be the less good for u (most melee / aoe based). Just remember that every power you do from /secondair makes you redraw your bow when you do a arch attack again.

3 hasten would be nice for Rain of Arrows, medicine pool for self heal. But if you focus on ranged anyway, I asume you still could push in the fitness pool and having nothing to worry about.

4 Vary on the set, but that’s the most common slotting. Using IO’s you can play around abit more, able to put in more end-reds. Going /dev you get target drone, wich makes you able to drop 1 SO and go for a Endred or recharge.

5 First respec mission is lvl24 onwards. Secondairy you can get respec tokens from veteran rewards (12, 18 and 22 I believe).

Reroll you blaster and make it fire/fire if you only plan to PvE... among my 3 lv50 blasters (ice/ener, elec/elec and fire/ener), fire one was soooooo much funnier (PS, find an ice tank)

Archery/Energy now that is a nice build .

dmg output might not be as big as fire or energy blasters due to resists but archery is much cooler :P.
I do advise Stamina, cuz it's always handy to have during long fights and you don't want to spend slots on end redux cuz you will want max dmg and acc. Slotting depends on whether you want to stay in constant range or don't mind going melee now and then. (Ideal for stuns until you get stunning arrow).
You don't relly need hasten cuz most moves recharge pretty quick even Rain of Arrows can be used almsot every group (depends on mob lvl and size of course). I also think Exploding arrow and fistfull of arrows fit into a nice attack chain with rain of arrows. Basically;
BU + rain of Arrows + Fistful of arrows + exploding arrow = defeaten mob.
Optional leadership pool for xtra dmg + acc but only do it if you got lots of end redux slotted or stamina.

Besides those points, just have a hell of a lot of fun with archery/energy. I do

Archery/Energy is great, mine's 38 atm, and I can just say- your biggest attacks are in your secondary. However, you can play a nice all-range blaster- and might be able to forgo stamina doing so, as the primary is cheap on end (the attacks from the secondary are a different matter).

Also try and not pick up toggles from the pools- they will drain your end.

Use conserve power in big fights, and try to slot an end red in a couple of your heavier attacks.
But my advise is do NOT skip total focus- it is the best damaging attack that you get! You can stun a boss with it in one hit, so it can be useful even for that.

If you're worried about end just get aid self (as most recommend for a blaster) and slot it with the +recov enhancements from the Miracle and Num's Con sets.

Main Hero: Mazey - level 50 + 1 fire/fire/fire blaster.
Main Villain: Chained Bot - level 50 + 1 Robot/FF Mastermind.

BattleEngine - "And the prize for the most level headed response ever goes to Mazey"
