SS/Elec

British Battler

Hi chaps,

I rolled a Super Strength/Electric the other night and quickly got him up to level 10 But I changed my mind about my travel power and some of my power picks so I'm gonna respec him when #9 hits live.

Since I put Hasten into every build I decided to save a power pool pick and take super speed as my travel power and drop flight(which I'd already chosen). With the spare pool pick I plan to pick the Fighting pool and take Boxing and Tough. I also plan to take the Medicine pool and grab myself Aid Self.

Unfortunately I'm having trouble fitting all of this into my build! My question is choosing what to slot at levels 30 and 41. I have a choice between aid self and tough.

So should I slot Aid Self at 30 and leave Tough to 41, or should I do it the other way around and take Tough at 30 and Aid Self at 41? U-DECIDE!

I had one, then the other on my /elec brute for extended periods of time, and I say Aid Self. You don't get much benefit from Tough (it's only about 15% S/L resistance for brutes), and while it will help you go toe-to-toe with those purple bosses for longer, I found that if they were too hard for me, they were going to defeat me whether I had Tough or not. It's also quite end-heavy, particular with your other toggles running. Finally, it's some way off, but you wont need it at all when you get your hands on Power Surge.

Aid Self, on the other hand, helps with every type of damage. Sure, it's tough to fire off in the middle of a battle, so slot some interrupts, but you really can't beat a self-heal for damage mitigation.

I like the fly set myself, I know it's the slowest for getting you to missions, but that boss beating up on you isn't really going to give you many problems when your doing the Air Superiority, Haymaker, Knockout Blow Juggle

So all you need is the extra res to help you against those pesky minions, as Res based sets have an pain of a time firing off aid self in battle, you get hit a lot more than an EA Brute you see, on account of them having good defences and not getting hit much, so the res would be of more use to you then.

And get a pocket thermal if you want healing, otherwise soloin all you need to do is carry some greens really.

Out of the 2 powers you mentioned Aid Self would give you the most utility. You can always heal the damage you take.

Yeah, and while you're at it, get a pocket thermal for shields too. Otherwise soloing all you need to do is carry some oranges/purples and break frees really.

Just making a point.

Which is?

Don't see one here really, greens make up for the lack of healing, oranges add a little res and purps add a bit of def, bf's for fear etc, so your point is.

Sorry m8, but I see none here, just said greens would probably be good to take with him, the thermal was if teaming, your gettin this all out of context here.

BTW, the thermals shields are nice to, shame not many seem to take them both, as it would reduce the healing require by quite a bit

No point made here, move along, nothing to see

I was saying that replacing a self heal with health insps was just like replacing your shields with orange/purple/break free insps. Forgot to put in that post about removing shields.

Having a pocket thermal for my /Fire brute I'd like to say the shields reduce the need for healing to almost 0. A pocket cold on a resistance based character would probably reduce that need to absolute 0 (pun intended) If you're able to regen the damage through natural rate faster than you're being hurt then you dont need green numbers

Eight legs, one body, silk,

I know how those corr shields make brutes ubah, but I try to build my brute to be efficient without a corr, as often there isn't one on my team.

Was just saying a pet corrutor doesn't have to be a healer to make you outstanding

I miss Heatloss, he was about the best cor I teamed with. He also played Addiction (kin/rad cor) but the cold Cor made my Fire/DA into a real monster

Yeah, he's quit the game and is happy out of game. Sometimes see him on MSN, but not often, he got busy with Real Lift©
