    Elitism

Well, if he isn't fan of claw-wielding regenerating heroes, or archery fanatic... In fact I have low-40s Claws/regen, and although I 've taken Health, I didn't take Stamina. It just almost never runs out, and when it does couple of CaBs solve that particular problem.
  2. By the way, I'm sure it's already written up somewhere, but I can't find.. How slotting PA works? What affects the summon itself and what affects pets? When procs are fired and on whom? (I know how it works with MMs but not sure about PA because of that "unbuffable" thing.)

    Cookie !

    Archie_Gremlin, you're a genius! (Still Lol-ing on re-reading.)
  4. We do As I usually say "It's better to look like a fool, than to be a fool"

Seriously, unusual browser behavior MAY mean trojan/advare infection, so you can't be over-cautious. And if it goes after the reset, - well, it's nice and all, but don't count on it every time.
  5. Well, I thought of Ill/FF but I don't like bubbling (not for the above reason, tho... After all, Kins do need to constantly buff too, and emps need to watch that team window even more...)

And tried Ill/Kin. Ok, how did you say, manic? It is. And I even haven't got to all the really cool powers yet. It's even tougher than Thugs/Pain MM in fact... (Very similar dynamic, BTW. As long as you have blue insps, you're nearly indestructible and can two-shot a white mob and easily deal with 2 or 3 red Lts. But you really need to watch your END.)
  6. Thanks all! Going to think about those too... Ill/kin sounds especially interesting, although I see how Ill/emp ahnd Ill/TA are good choices too...
  7. Rad is the obvious one, but is there anything else? Storm seems popular too, but I don't quite see how they're supposed to work together...

    Merit bubble?

According to the wiki there are about 30-100 recipes in pool C, depending on the level. about dozen of them are actually good and sought after at any level (Stealths, Zephyr -KB, Numina/Miracle procs etc.) Some are not as good at lower lvls but still worth a lot. So, purely by eyeball-o-metry, just taking random rolls looks more profitable than saving for a specific recipe...

So, if I'm right, why do we have so few recipes on sale and those silly inflated prices at in the first place? No, really, why? It isn't rocket science, just common sense, - random rolls are still statistically better than direct merit purchases. Yet, from the looks of it, no one does random rolls... Or do they? And inflation is caused by something else, say, dual-builds, or not enough drop farming? Then again, more inf needed for a build==more farming, and more recipe drops. Even farming for merits still ought to bring decent number of reciopes anyway. What Am I missing?

    Respec recipes ?

When powers change big time they tend to hand out freespecs.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Wonder if they're upping the freespec limit to 2 in hand, as dual builds means that any big power changes could mean respeccing each build.

    [/ QUOTE ]
/signed Olr alternatively, it would be good make respec affect both builds at once, although I suspect that's more trouble than it's worth coding-wise.
  11. In other words, if my current date is due, say, Feb 15th, and I use montly sub., then it'll move it to Mar 15, not Mar 6? That'd be nice...
  12. Stupid question, probably, but If I enter my Mac edition code, say, tomorrow, would it destroy the week or so of time I paid for, and change my next billing date to 6th or it would stay as it were, with free month not used until after sub runs out normally?

    Respec recipes ?

According to the Wiki http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Respec_Recipe it's an enemy drop. Then, again, everything seems to become scarcier at auctions, even the drops, although I don't think it's because of the rate as such...
  14. do you have an antivirus? Is its subscription current? If not, you may try Kaspersky Online ( http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner requires Java 1.5 or higher.) Not the best one, maybe, but reasonably good and easy to use, then google whatever it finds for removal tools...

You may also try HijackThis http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en...ols/hijackthis but its scans are meant to be interpreted by someone who knows what they're doing, there are whole internet forums on hijacthisomancy.

Oldie, but still worked last time I used it http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm Allows you to see the list of IE plugins and disable them.

And last, but not least, switch to Firefox/Opera/Chrome, at least until you figure out what's going on. I'd recommend Opera personally (it has some very useful features for low-vision users), but Chrome looks nicier and FF is more popular and both are somewhat simplier to use.

    Coincidence?

Well, I didn't say they COPIED it, and yes, on larger magnification what I thought to be a part of faceplate is a gas mask of some sort, but they still look similar enouugh to me, YMMW.

    Coincidence?

Both red (Even through all other Crey uniforms are blue or off-white), both with T-shaped faceplate, same design of joints, same primary weapons and pretty much the same job description SPOILER

(even to a point that original Silencers were too replaced by cloned superhumans)

    END SPOILER

Separately, well, everything is generic enough... But together it could be a homage, maybe unintentional.

Actually it would be cool, if potentially suit-rific if it weren't...
  18. Did anyone else notice mysterious duplication of the '%' sign? It's everywhere! Powers descriptions during character creation, items descriptions at Wentsworth's (but oddly enough, not in item tooltips) SG MOTDs, and probably other places as well...

Think of it as being like trying to find a needle (the buggy code) in a haystack (the entire code).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I hope you didn't spread your chat and chat coloring routines (a pitchfork full of hay) throughout your entire code (the haystack)
Under these circumstances, I agree, it will be very difficult to find the bug (the needle).

Sorry, but I couldn't resist that one

    [/ QUOTE ]
You may write sooper-modular code, so good that GoF asks you for design tips, but bugs whose causes and reproduction methods are more like conspiracy theories would STILL appear from time to time. (Like at least three documented bugs that were, in fact, caused by the Moon being in certain phase. One of them was in an e-mail client. I'm not making this up. Or, even better, infamous Bush bug in Notepad. (Interesting enough, it doesn't work now with the original string, but some others still produce the bug.))

    [ QUOTE ]
not many CoH/V servers have 4000 plus on line at once

    [/ QUOTE ]
Animated hair are purely cosmetic thingie, so I bet they're calculated mostly clientside. CoX is 90% bassed on instances, so, unless we're talking about Hamidon or RWZ, we need to animate 8 haircuts top. Of course, there might be problems with say, biggier cossie competitions and such, but well, no one expects ANY engine work well on older hardwartre in situations like that.

And, well, NWN servers are usually run like mini-MMOs, persistence, dozens of simultaneous players (up to 64 IIRC), GMs, etc. In fact, again, IIRC, you could clusterize/federate servers to make it even more like MMO.
  22. 3dent

    GG!! Its true!

Depends. Actually, NWN 1 of all things, had animated hair, and quite good ones (about the same level as CoX cloth) So, it doesn't need to be that big a performance hit as it might seem if done properly. Of course, IF they use physics engine to do that, things are different...
