I was level 41 and I was drunk. Then I realized I was on my lvl 50 ice/fire tank. Do you want it back? ...

Anyhoo back to OP: I think it will be a better set. EA has been a tough secondary relatively, and as a lot of people have mentioned, I think it was invented as an alternative to ice armor since IA for brutes didn't test well in the devs' tests as mechanics stood back then. I also think it was a poor idea to create a secondary for brutes that had no aggro aura and also made your typed defenses dependent on being invisible, making it a "useless" brute before you could go to both sides.
But I have a WM/EA brute and he is both strong and pretty! -
Quote:All in all, I try to get my point across with a simple ellipsis. What happened to dry humour? I thought Benny Hill passed away years ago!. I'm too old to put freaking smiley faces everywhere -- yes, both those posts were on purpose. Next time I'll use a "fart" emoticon if there is one.LOL!
I want you to understand that I am smiling in a good-natured way. In your first post, I thought you might have used the phrase incorrectly on purpose, as an example of two very different things meaning the same thing anyway due to the fact that context would allow one to know what was meant.
It is grammar, by the way (and once again I feel like the mistake could be done on purpose). -
Christopher Lee is great for a character actor in a bit role. Liam Neeson was put on the front stage after Schindler's List and then did various degrees of declining nothing. Don't you DARE put Michael Caine in that same category (although now he does take a lot of jobs).

I wouldn't say "mastered", but I don't think that anything really new is to be learned as things stand. The mechanics of how the market work are clearly defined, so the only thing that is new is fluctuations in supply and demand. On the supply side, it continues to become easier and easier to produce (merits, A-merits, threads, better farming techniques and builds, etc.) supply and the demand side is consistent but not overwhelming. Prices fluctuate, but there don't seem to be any real macro changes that would cause major shifts. Ive been kind of bored for a while and haven't seriously marketed for a few issues, and it is highly possible that I am missing some things that are fascinating and ground-breaking.

Also, don't get too hung up on the name of the secondary set, but focus on what it does. I have an old Ill/Rad controller named Doctor Pajama -- his powers come from being able to enter and leave the dream world, aiding his allies and hurting his foes through their own subconscious. I just avoided powers (choking cloud, I'm looking at you) that I couldn't explain away under that premise.

Quote:But only if you have 1500 merits on one character. If the 2700 merits are evenly split across a half-dozen, then random rolls are probably the way to go. Although I'd be tempted to try to flood and crash a specific market or two... which would ultimately fail knowing me.If you are going to convert to hero merits, buy the glad +def IO with 30 of the merits. You can sell that for between 2.5 and 3 billion. Giving you 1.5 to 2 billion profit, after paying for the conversion.
After that there are recipes you can buy directly with 1 or 2 merits that have the same average rate of return as the random roll but are guaranteed . You can mix those in with random rolls to taste, last I looked the kinetic combat set had some very profitable 1 merit items. -
PvP IO's crashing in 3,2,1...

It isn't hard, but I think some people just don't get it. That's ok. People complain about not having enough inf/real life politics/their job/their relationships or lack thereof/etc. and if you offer a solution, sometimes they just yell at you and say "I don't want an answer I just want to yap* about it." Not everyone wants a solution. Some people just want to yap*. Personally, that drives me nuts but hey, different strokes for different folks, right? * By "yap" I mean a five letter word meaning a female canine starting with "b".

Based on my experience for the past two months, they obviously changed the drop rates to 0/5,000. Stealth nerf!

Quote:To this excellent advice, I would add it also depends on how many other people are lowballing it, and where you think their lowball bids are.To my way of thinking, that depends on what you're flipping, how active it is,
and how low your lowball bid actually is?
So, if, for example my bid is ~50% of last 5 on, say Hecatomb Damage, that
could take several days. If it's 50% on something like Glad Armor 3%, it probably
*never* fills.
If it's 50% on Masterwork Weapons (Common Salvage) it probably fills in an hour
or less.
So, there's no hard, fast, rule on it, and you really need to know how the
particular niche you're working behaves.
Regards,

If a rare salvage has a last 5 of:
2,000,000
1,900,000
2,000,000
1,345,678
2,000,000
You can feel pretty confident that a bid of 1,400,000 for 10 will probably fill within a day, if not sooner. (I wouldn't plan on offering them at 2mm on the flip, though).
If there are no outstanding bids on an IO that looks like it has some good value to it, then you can bid as low as you want, but how low you bid will probably affect how often your bid gets filled. If it looks like it trades at 10mm, and you bid 6-8mm, you will probably get filled within a day or two. If you figure that it costs someone about 3mm to make it and you bid 3.5mm, it may take longer, but you may pick someone off who just wanted to make a small profit and be the first in line to sell. -

Just a thought: I have been playing around a bit with the Stone Mastery on other controllers, and if you can find a way to 6 slot Fissure, I would think that 5 slotting it with Absolute Amazement (all but the proc) and a FF +recharge would be, well, absolutely amazing. The two trollers I am looking at this with are earth/sonic and elec/thermal, so they actually need to slot fissure for damage, but a grav/storm should be able to get enough damage from its primary and secondary to have a luxury to slot Fissure for stun.
edit: dummy me, you already have AA in thunderclap. Nothing to see here, move along... =) -
I was playing around in the lvl 15 bronze sector for awhile. It probably would have been smarter to get someone to take me on an AE run, but I just ground it out with a level locked Elec/Ice dom. My takeaways were: lvl 10-14 rolls were marginally better than 15-19 rolls, I supplied a whole lot of frankenslot recipes and IOs for lowbies, and there were only a handful of IOs that made me any real inf. Eventually, I just focused on those and traded them, but the turnover was very slow.

Quote:My vote is yes, if you can afford it.* Decimation & Positron's Blast vs Apocalypse & Ragnorok - would replacing the Decimation in Propel and Positron's Blast in Fissure with the Apocalypse & Ragnorok sets be worth it? My initial thoughts are 'yes' because, at least in Ragnorok's case, the set bonuses are higher and they would exemp down to any level. However this would be a long term investment I would have to save up for.
Quote:* Snow Storm vs Hurricane - when I was originally designing the build and decided to go with the Stone APP I knew I would be forgoing the ranged nature of Gravity for the most part to take advantage of Fissure and Seismic Smash. So at the time I thought I wouldn't be worth taking Hurricane as it would be counter intuitive to my play style. However, I find myself not using Snow Storm except for EB/AV/GM fights and I was wondering if the To Hit Debuff from Hurricane would be more useful in those situations compared to the -Recharge from Snow Storm. I will admit don't entirely understand EB/AV/GM resistances
Quote:* Freezing Rain Slotting - at the moment I have five slotted Shield Breaker and decided to use the sixth slot on recharge. Is it worth dropping the few seconds extra recharge I get from that to get the small Smashing/Lethal defence bonus I would get from six slotting Shield Breaker?
Quote:* General Slotting Advice - just some general advice on the slotting I have currently. There are things I would like to do (such as the Hold Proc in Lightning Storm) which I can't do currently due to a lack of slots. Can anyone see any particularly wasted slots?
Quote:* Incarnate Powers - currently I have slotted a Tier 4 Cardiac Core Paragon Alpha, Tier 3 Ion Core Judgement and Tier 3 Diamagnetic Partial Core Conversion Interface. I went Cardiac because I was having some real endurance issues (even with my set bonuses) when it came to longer fights. That along with the increased range (great for Wormhole, Fissure and Propel). I went Ion for thematic reasons (calling lightning from the heavens) and I went Diamagnetic for the To Hit Debuff which stacks well with my high defence. I am generally happy with these choices however I am really unsure as to which Destiny power to take as I think they would all work so would really appreciate some advice here.
Quote:* To Hasten or not to Hasten - one of the original motivations I had for making this particular build was to have a high recharge without relying on Hasten because of the crash mixed with my endurance issues made for some ugly situations. However with the Cardiac slot and my set bonuses would it be worth fitting it back in, and if so what I would I drop to take it? -
I use Gale on my Grav/Storm/Ice a fair amount with the same slotting as the OP (single slot, +recharge). Generally I use it only when I'm feeling safe (which is most of the time) and I recently used a heavy hitting power that I wouldn't mind getting up quicker. My set bonuses run about 90% +accuracy, so I've never noticed hitting to be a problem. And when you have a group of 16 mobs trapped in a corner, you'd be surprised at how often that proc procs.

Just to be clear, I am NOT bidding against Organica here. If someone else wants to, fine, but I figure she met your offer price and it is hers at 2.7bn. My comment was more along the lines of "good value for this is probably a bit higher."
