Flipping?
To my way of thinking, that depends on what you're flipping, how active it is,
and how low your lowball bid actually is?
So, if, for example my bid is ~50% of last 5 on, say Hecatomb Damage, that
could take several days. If it's 50% on something like Glad Armor 3%, it probably
*never* fills.
If it's 50% on Masterwork Weapons (Common Salvage) it probably fills in an hour
or less.
So, there's no hard, fast, rule on it, and you really need to know how the
particular niche you're working behaves.

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.
Light is faster than sound - that's why some people look smart until they speak.
For every seller who leaves the market dirty stinkin' rich,
there's a buyer who leaves the market dirty stinkin' IOed. - Obitus.
Okidoke, thanks.
I'm experimenting right now, so the character doing the marketing doesn't need to be played anywho.

To this excellent advice, I would add it also depends on how many other people are lowballing it, and where you think their lowball bids are.

If a rare salvage has a last 5 of:
2,000,000
1,900,000
2,000,000
1,345,678
2,000,000
You can feel pretty confident that a bid of 1,400,000 for 10 will probably fill within a day, if not sooner. (I wouldn't plan on offering them at 2mm on the flip, though).
If there are no outstanding bids on an IO that looks like it has some good value to it, then you can bid as low as you want, but how low you bid will probably affect how often your bid gets filled. If it looks like it trades at 10mm, and you bid 6-8mm, you will probably get filled within a day or two. If you figure that it costs someone about 3mm to make it and you bid 3.5mm, it may take longer, but you may pick someone off who just wanted to make a small profit and be the first in line to sell.
Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html
I understand one of the keys to flipping is patience.
If I 'invest' in a bunch of items with a lowball bid, what is a good rule of thumb for how long it should take my bids to fill?
A day, a week, a month? I have no idea how patient I need to be?
