All patch notes EVER, you say?

    NINJA!

    [/ QUOTE ]
All of those are after I1.
  2. A single Sonic Resonance Defender can cap the resistance of another non-Tanker/Kheldian (Statesman claimed 77% total resist for a single Sonic Resonance Def). You will only need 2 of those if you want the Sonic to be capped.

Trick Arrows currently has better -res than Sonic Resonance with 2 AoE -res available. Neither of these require melee, but that likely won't matter. TA is getting a downgrade though.

Sonic Blast/Howl is an excelent Cone attack with a -res secondary effect, no other -res AoEs in Sonic Blast until the nuke though.

2 FF should be good enough, 110% Def should cover all realistic settings.

4 Defenders to turn the entire team into virtual Tankers, decent mez resistance too. Clarity from both SRs will cover the Sleep resistance gap.

This leaves you with 4 Defenders to up damage and cover healing gap, I'd suggest Kin, Dark, Rad and TA. Not necesarily one of each, but those 4 should provide what SR & FF doesn't.

Some of the first heroes to forty were */Fiery Tanks, due to overpowered Burn patches that used to be nearly twice as big as they are now. I think they were initially reduced in size in update 1, but details are foggy.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That would be Fire/*, it's a primary set and not secondary.

The first (live) changes to Burn was before I1 but after the Training Room (test server) came online. Burn was about twice as expensive, recharged 3 times as fast, did more damage/tick and had a larger area. Those factors were all reduced (or for recharge, increased), the initial decrease gave a smaller AoE and less damage than Burn has now though.

Back then you had to create a character on TR to have one there. There was no copy tool until right before I1 arrived.

Provoke took a big hit then too, the recharge time got increased from 3 seconds to what it is now and it went from auto-hit to requiring a to-hit check.

The 90% resistance cap was introduced around this time too, I can't remember if it was before TR went up or after. I3 saw the arrival of even lower caps for non-Tankers, Kheldians got 85% and the rest of the ATs have to make do with a 75% cap.

Smoke Grenade took the hit before I1 (I'm 90% sure about that).

-Recharge & -Speed also took a hit before I1. -Recharge was prevented from causing more than 4 times base recharge and -Speed now caps at 10% of base speed. Previously there was no cap to either and you could force a mob into near infinite recharge and complete immobility with enough stacking. The immobility was used by Fire/Dev or AR/Dev Blasters with Caltrops slotted for mass -Speed in combination with location based DoTs. The infinite recharge bug was used on Hamidon & Mito's to turn them into harmless puppies.

Hamidon was presented as a Trial when it was added during the beta.

Any ideas why this is? And what can be done to make people want to go to Galaxy?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I don't really care why, but I actually don't want it changed.

Galaxy City is a place where you can avoid most of the stupid lowlevel behaviour when you're making your 50th alt. Whether it's a better starting location for a newbie or not is up for debate.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Defenders, however, don't have any overarching problems.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I haven't read every reply so far, but have you considered that Defenders don't have any overarching problems just because the primary sets are so different?

Defenders have very little common ground between all the primaries and thus can't state "Excactly this is the problem with Defenders". Instead people have to point out specific problems each primary has.

What they do have in common is that they're there to help keep the team standing (a role shared with Tankers & Controllers, both of which have potential to outdamage Defenders) and their damage level compared to other ATs.

This is probably one of the cleanest, gosh-durn nicest forums I've ever come across.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That just seems kinda sad to me. These are by far the rudest, most flame-filled boards I've been to.

    [/ QUOTE ]
While these boards aren't the worst I've seen they are the worst I frequent.

The other places I frequent are smaller communities with a zero tolerance policy towards spammers, trolls and flamers. If you go to a big site/forum you'll generally find a larger amount of flaming and other rude behaviour.
  7. I would have thought that being moved from CoH to Lineage II was a demotion

Sad to see you leave the best MMO currently in existence Vyv.

    Kheldian FAQ

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm curious if anyone has numbers for Lightform that's been slotted with HO's recharge reducers. Anyone have data on this? The Ho's are reported to have %50 recharge reducation by some, so is this sufficient to make Lightform permable, or is it still out of reach?

    ~Tri

    [/ QUOTE ]
The final table in the FAQ is using the I4 numbers.

No perma-LF without outside buffs (such as Speed Boost, Accelerate Metabolism or Adrenaline Boost).

    Kheldian FAQ

    [ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the FAQ. I will deffinately use it when I go to make my Khelds.

I have a question, tho. The recharge times listed at the end....listed are times for SOs, HOs, and SOs/HOs + Hasten. Is the Hasten 0-slotted (no enhancement at all), 1-slotted, or 6-slotted? (I don't know the #'s on Hasten, which is why I ask.)

    [/ QUOTE ]
You can't enhance the bonus Hasten gives. Recharge enhancements placed in Hasten only serve to improve Hasten's own recharge time.

The reason many 6 slot Hasten is to have it up all the time, without any other powers that buff recharge time you need 6 even level SO Recharge to have Hasten perma (recharging as soon as or slightly before Hasten runs out).

Here's my calculator based off the numbers above. I'll continually update the page with newer numbers as people find them. If there's any problems you find, let me know. I've tested it in IE and Firefox. Your selections will automatically get saved to a browser cookie so you can come back to the page and they will be there.

I'm getting page not found errors on this. What happened?

Replace the "phpBB2" in the link with "coh", that change happened a few months ago.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
so that would say to me that you still get the 85% resist of Eclipse in Nova form? if u change to it in time.

I really wont to know if thats true as that is my plan, to use the Shadow Cloak with SS run in use Eclipse and Sunless Mire then go to Nova form and waste the lot

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
    Just for my edification...

Stamina doesn't work in Nova form. Is the same true for Dwarf form?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Click powers (like Hasten & Eclipse) carry over to the two forms but Auto powers (like Stamina & Absorption) and Toggle powers (except the form) don't.
  13. I remember when MacAllen, Geist, SENSEI & Jazz were moderators.

I remember Fighter & Black Mage of the old forum.

I remember that Hero1 actually posted a couple of times on the old forum.

    I remember El Bob.

I remember the Giant Tapeworm petition.

I remember the various reactions when NCSoft was announced as the publisher.

I remember when having a low world detail setting would cause parts of the road, buildings and other objects completely disappear (KR & SC Tram-stations would go away below 70).

I remember when both Hasten and Accelerate Metabolism were perma without any slots.

I realize my bind is borked I forgot the /send part of it

    /bind \ beginchat "/send CHANNELNAME,"

    the above Will work.

    [/ QUOTE ]
For channels with a space in the you need to change that to:

    /bind <key> beginchat /send "channel name"
  15. [ QUOTE ]
You currently cannot make a channel name with a space in it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You need to use " around the channel name to access a channel with a space in the name when using / commands.

So to send to the Kill Skuls channel you'd need to do:

    /send "Kill Skuls"<message>

Have created a tab on my chat windows, created a channel, and can get tot he member listing. I have folks I have invited on there but it says you can invite SUpergroup members but Supergroup is not availabe, it is greyed out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you a member of a super group?

    [/ QUOTE ]

yes except I just read that alliance stuff is not available so perhaps that is why that option is greyed out?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You have to be Leader of a SG to invite the SG, being Captain is not good enough.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
On Test I was using the /send <name of channel>, <msg> and it worked for me. Was there an undocumented change on Live?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Using a comma never worked for me when trying to chat on a channel with a space in its name. If there's no space in the channel name then the comma will just be the first character displayed in your message.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
As for the / command to send to different channels, its /send <name of channel>, <msg> if you read the PDF it solves 90% of whatever questions you have.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    The correct command is:

    /send "<name of channel>"<message>

Why they chose to go with quotes ("") instead of comma for GChat is a mystery to me though. Note that you don't need a space after the last " and the actual message.
  19. It might be a good idea to list a public channel you've created here if you want others to find it easily.
  20. hide
    n.
An old English measure of land, usually the amount held adequate for one free family and its dependents.

    http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=hide

Another Hide Park can be found in Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. That park is named so because it is actually the size of a hide.

(Hard-Boiled, though we’re changing that to Hero).

    [/ QUOTE ]
I haven't yet checked to see if others have said this, but please keep Hard Boiled as the name of one of the reputation/difficulty levels.

Maybe replace Tenacious or Rugged? They sound kinda bleh to me.
  22. What about Madame of Mystery, Diabolique, Malaise, Mother Mayhem and the Kronos Titan (technically a Monster)?
  23. Tested MoG end recovery (I3)

    Stamina (unslotted)
    MoG (no End Recovery)

    Atlas Medallion
    Portal Jockey

0 (all toggles used to drain dropped) to Full end in 20 seconds.

Could someone else check the result? I'm getting +2.3068 eps (after bonus from Accolades) or 1.9065 eps w/o Accolades which is better than base end recovery (1.6667 eps w/o Accolades/2.0167 eps with).
