  1. It's June! Just another (kinda) monthly update to let you fine folks know Titan Industries is still open for recruitment. If you're looking for a fun, mercenary-themed rp vg (and who isn't?), then we're just the group for you! We have a weekly team night on Wednesdays, plus other events scheduled throughout the month. You can find more information about the concept on our forums. We've got rp, stories, teaming, and random chatter...a little bit of something for everyone!

@Andy, @Anhedonia1, @Kalen, and @T-Pill can be contacted if you have questions about the group. You can also leave us a note on the forums.

    Happy gaming, Virtue!

Cool page! The personality description sounds like he might not fit in too well with the group from an IC standpoint, but sometimes it's hard to get a really good grasp without actually rp'ing together. We've got some information about the group's concept in the top two forums of the website. (The Company Line and on then on the application itself.) Not sure if that will help you make any decisions though.

Alternatively, you can contact one of the officers in the group to talk more specifically about the character. Or! We can bring you on one of our weekly team nights if you'd like to get to get a feel for the group that way.
  3. Fantastic video! Major applause to the people who worked on it! (Or the person...whoever!) This looks like a definite purchase for me.
  4. Yes, hello again, Virtue! We are definitely still open for business and looking for new members all the time. You can find our website here! We have a weekly team night on Wednesdays, starting at 8:30 pm CST, and we schedule other events throughout the month. Rp opportunities run from random meet-ups during the week to structured plots lasting for several weeks to months sometimes. Everyone in the group is encouraged and welcome to participate in stories, teaming, and rp. We use in-game events as well as the forums for our rp, plus we have a global channel for OOC chatter.

Yes, I'm probably biased, but this is a seriously fun group, and if you're seriously fun or looking for serious fun, check us out! Feel free to /tell and officer in-game if you'd like more information or drop us a post on our boards in the application section.

@Andy, @Anhedonia1, @Kalen (he was just promoted, yay!), and @T-Pill.

    Happy gaming!
  5. Thankfully I don't get headaches or nausea as a result of graphics, but there's a couple of effects in the game that drive me insane and hurt my eyes. I imagine if I continued to look at them long enough, the eye strain would move to a headache.

    1. Barrier - The local pulse/glowy effect for individual characters is what bothers me the most. I've never really noticed the initial power cast, so that seems to be fine (for me at least), but the individual effect really bothers my eyes. So much that I'm usually thinking, "I hope this power goes away soon."

    2. The Hamidon temp power from the LGTF - Holy cow, this power REALLY hurts my eyes. I have to look away from my screen every few minutes when I get hit with it on a TF. My thought process is generally, "Hit Hammy, please don't pick me for the power. Hit Hammy, please don't pick me for the power."

The entire graphical appearance of the temp power is an issue for me. It's bright. It's pulsey. It's glowy. It's really hard to even LOOK at the screen when my character is shining like a psychotic ball of pink lightning.

The pulse effect in Willpower also bothered me, but the minimal graphics option resolved the issue in my particular case. Generally speaking though, the powers that have strong, repetitive pulses on my specific character will be what affects me the most.

    Thanks for listening!

    DING! Seven!

Happy anniversary, CoH! Thanks for making such a great game, devs!
  7. Glad to hear this got resolved for you! As an FYI for future reference, I've had this same problem come up for me before. Saved a name, deleted, went to re-roll and was told the name wasn't available. The GM who helped me at that time advised me to wait and try again after the next maintenance period, which I did and behold! It worked. Got the name back, no problem.

Of course, if names are added to the block list, that step wouldn't help, but it does seem weird your friend could make them but you couldn't. At any rate, very happy this got sorted out for you!
  8. Hi, Virtue! Andy here again to let folks know Titan Industries is still recruiting! We have weekly team nights on Wednesdays, and we've transitioned our Friday team nights into task forces, raids, and other fun activities throughout the month! We've got a solid group of players who are a blast IC and OOC to hang out with. Head to our forums to check out the concept and some of the rp stories we've been working on. You can also contact @Andy, @Anhedonia1, or @T-Pill in-game if you'd like more information.

    Happy gaming!
  9. Thanks, guys! I'm like 3 costumes short on one of my chars for the badge, and it's been driving me crazy that I'd have to wait six months to complete it! But now I don't have to wait. Hurrah!
  10. Thank you for posting those links. I've loved this game for years now, and it makes me very happy to see the people behind its production will do something like this to help those who need it.
  11. Hi, General! Welcome to Coh and Virtue! I'm not sure if you're looking for an rp vg or a non-rp vg, but you can find a listing of redside groups in the villain directory at the top of the Virtue forum. The thread was just re-posted for the Feb-Aug. time frame, so you may want to check back periodically to see if there's been any updates. I think the global channel thread is pretty up-to-date, so there's another option for you if you're trying to find teaming or potential vg's. Finally, if you're into roleplaying, you can go to Virtueverse and take a peek at the Recruiting category.

    Happy gaming!
  12. Hello, Virtue! Another (almost) monthly update to let people know Titan Industries is still looking for members. We've officially passed our one year anniversary, and things just keep getting better! I may be a little biased, but I have to say this is a seriously fantastic group of people. We have lots of fun together IC and OOC, so if you're looking for an rp villain group, head over to our forums and check us out. You can also contact one of the officers in-game if you'd like to speak with someone before applying.

    Happy gaming!
  13. Sorry, not showing anything, but I had to say this, and I didn't want to clutter up with other threads!

I bought the pack for the sole purpose of getting leopard spots for one of my characters. I wasn't all that excited about the rest of the stuff. I mean, I thought all the items looked great! I just don't have that many animal themed characters. But you know...I really wanted leopard spots!

But what I discovered in this pack far exceeds the happiness of getting that single costume piece I wanted for my character. What is this thing that has given me such joy?

    /em hiss

Whoever did this emote, you are my hero. I cannot stop laughing, and I love it so much, I made a macro for it. (First time ever!) It is so freaking hilarious and awesome and wonderful that I would have paid 10 bucks just for /em hiss. It has brought me that much joy and amusement.

Thank you, person who did this! And wonderful job all around, devs!
  14. Welcome to Virtue, Noku! Another way to find rp is to join an rp supergroup. Most groups I know about have forums, scheduled events, and regular teaming to promote general rp or specific storylines. Check out Virtue's supergroup directory or the villain group directory. The one for February-August just started, so you may want to keep an eye on those two threads here and there as updates are made. Another option is to use Virtueverse and check out the recruiting categories. (VV is currently down for maintenance I believe, or I'd link you there.) There's a thread for it though, so ransim will most likely let us know when it's back up.

As for Pocket D? Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. Sometimes it's downright hilarious for amusing and/or tragic reasons. Try it out at least once though! Usually if I see people loitering near a group I'm rp'ing with, I'll try to get them involved in the conversation. Especially if they make any indication they're listening to us. I will also try to engage people if I'm by myself, though sometimes I'm really just there to watch the world go by.

    Best of luck!
  15. No worries, ransim. Thanks a bunch for all the work you do on VV!
  16. Name: Titan Industries

    Currently Recruiting: Yes!

RP Level: Moderate to heavy. This is an rp vg; our members are generally looking to share stories together, both in-game and on the forums. We have an OOC channel, but teams and sg chat should be considered IC unless indicated otherwise.

PvP Level: Player's choice. The group doesn't pvp, but individual members are free to pursue it as they like.

Theme/Concept: Established in 2009 by Brooklyn Cale, Titan Industries is an acquisitions and problem-solving firm. The company operates out of a secure facility in St. Martial in the Etoile Isles and specializes in the quick, discreet resolution of problems. Employees are free to pursue their own interests, cultivate their own clients, and work on their own agendas. In order to find and perform jobs, each operative has access to the human, electronic, and financial networks provided by the company. In exchange, employees give a small percentage of their incomes to Titan Industries and occasionally carry out an assignment given to them by the firm. Jobs assigned to operatives by the company pay extremely well once they are successfully completed. Good performance and loyal service tend to result in better assignments, bigger paychecks, and more perks.

Most backgrounds and all origins are welcome. There's a few concepts that probably wouldn't fit in too well. (For example, Arachnos loyalists or anyone under the age of 18.) Also, characters are recruited into the group, so there's no IC way to apply. Players are welcome to inquire about membership though! A captain and the applicant will decide together how Titan Industries has heard about the character.

Activity: We currently have a nice group of about 15-20 experienced roleplayers. We tend to be active after about 8-9 PM, EST, though there's a few of us who pop on during the afternoons. We have in-game teaming and rp (including two weekly team nights), as well as forum-based rp. Members are not required to use the forums for storytelling, but they are certainly encouraged to do so.

Requirements for Membership: There is no minimum level to join, but anyone who's interested in applying will need to fill out an application at our website. We expect members to be mature, thoughtful, and active.

Leadership: Titan Girl - Director; Tommy Cortex - Captain; Voltaic Scorpion - Captain.

    In-Game Contact(s): @Andy, @Anhedonia1, or @T-Pill.

Out-of-Game Contact(s): You can pm Andora on the main CoH forums, send a tell to any of the officers in-game, or leave a message for us on our website in the application section.

    Coalitions: Anathema, Pulse, Sin Enterprises

    URL: www.titanindustries.guildportal.com

You can also check out our Virtueverse page here.
  17. I guess we're not so new anymore, but we're still looking for members! After a year of recruitment, missions, rp, and various shenanigans, Titan Industries has grown to a solid group of about 15 to 20 members. We do TFs, MA arcs, regular missions teams, and chat about some very important things on our global channel. (Community, Marvel vs. Capcom 3...you know, the stuff that really matters!) If you're interested in joining an awesome group of people who have fun together IC and OOC, head over to our forums to check out the group's concept. You can also take a peek at some of the fiction our members have posted in the last couple of weeks. You can also contact @Andy, @Anhedonia1, or @T-Pill for more information.

    Happy gaming, Virtue!
  18. Liking the sound of this so far, thanks for the information!

    Trial Account?

No trial account notices, but I just had all of my Praetorians grayed out when I logged on the character select screen. Logging back out to the server select and then returning to the character select screen seemed to fix the problem. Virtue server, 7:04 pm CST.
  20. Hi, Virtue! Titan Industries is coming up on its one year anniversary soon, and we're still going strong! We've got lots of rp running at the moment, plus two team nights every week. (Wednesdays and Fridays, both starting at 8:30 pm CST.) Head on over to our forums to check out the group and scope out some of the stories we have going on. If you have any questions or would like to speak to an officer, feel free to contact @Andy, @Anhedonia1, or @T-Pill!

    Happy gaming!
  21. This is a completely fantastic idea, and I approve! Thanks!
  22. Castle, you have been one of the many reasons I love this game so much, and I thank you for all your hard work. Best of luck in the future!
  23. Just a reminder, our holiday party is tonight at 8:30 pm Central. If you're interested in coming to check out the group, send @Andy a /tell, and I'll get you on a team so you can access the base.

    Happy gaming!
  24. The season is upon us! Titan Industries is throwing a little holiday celebration on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. The fun begins at 8:30 pm Central, and the party will be held in our base. There's going to be presents, Christmas decorations, and drunk elves. (I made one of those up, come see which one!) Everyone is welcome to join us for this event, so if you're interested in meeting some of our members or getting a feel for the group, please come! You can send a /tell to @Andy to get an invitation to the base. Dressing up like Santa is optional. Hope to see some of you there!
