Quote:Well according to his bio, he was offered a position as a weapons system evaluator for Armtech, but apparently he turned it down.Quote:
Offered position as weapons system evaluator for ArmTec International in 1984, with the possibility of becoming weapon system designer based on my designs in a sci fi story I had written. Turned it down due to firm's foreign entanglements and lack of DoD involvement.
By this point maybe you've noticed that most of us take his self-published biography with a rather large grain of salt. After all I could tell you that I was offered the position of Supreme Allied Commander of NATO but I turned it down. Does it mean it's true?
Seems to me there's a serious lack of critical thought mixed with a large dose of blind optimism here. Maybe go review the fundamentals of the scientific method instead of praying this techno-messiah has all the answers? -

There's quite the difference between using a parlour trick to demonstrate a possible form of invisibility and actually rendering an object invisible from any perspective. It's an illusion created by science. Why do things have to be complex in order to be taken seriously?
Besides, if he truly had the knowledge to make something invisible, he'd be working for Skunk Works right now, not making youtube videos for school children. -

On 6 July 2011, the United States House of Representatives' appropriations committee on Commerce, Justice, and Science moved to cancel the James Webb project by proposing an FY2012 budget that removed $1.9bn from NASA's overall budget, of which roughly one quarter was for JWST. This budget proposal was approved by subcommittee vote the following day, but it remains to be seen how the rest of the US House of Representatives and Senate will weigh on on this issue during the ongoing federal budget negotiations.
Stick a fork in it. We're done in space.
If there was one space project that deserves every penny that goes over budget it's that one. -
Quote:Actually the inherent was there in the form of increased base regen and recovery, but wasn't indicated with a nifty little power icon like all other ATs get. So people moaned and groaned about VEATs not having an inherent and the devs gave us an icon.IIRC, in beta they didn't originally have any inherent, but people complained because "all other ATs have one", so this small boost was thrown in to appease the masses.

Quote:Put the same propulsion system in a winged design. This way you have some lift if you lose propulsion, and it would also greatly increase efficiency in horizontal flight, since less power is required to maintain altitude, more power can be used to increase/maintain airspeed.I'll give you one big safety question while you're drinking the koolaid on this though. Existing rotorcraft can autorotate if the engine dies. What does this do besides fall? If they stay with remotes, it's not a big deal. If they get into manned applications, that's got to be addressed.
I don't see this propulsion package completely changing aircraft as we know them, but if they pan out as advertised they'd make a great new type of jump jet... -

Wait... someone is willing to run Keyes on this server?

Yes, sitting at a computer hooked up to the internet arguing on an MMO forum against the adoption of new technology is kinda ironic.

Quote:You should be safe in the PvP forums.This whole thread is full of fail. I can't believe that, as intelligent as most of you seem, you guys are seriously in here debating over badges like world peace is at stake. Something about this entire thing just seems real odd. All of you should be ashamed of yourselves cause gluttony isn't a good look for any of you................. {runs away and watches the heat from the flames from a good safe distance}

Odd that I've gone this long without noticing this thread but here goes.
My global is @Alpha-One (that was easy). I'm the founder and leader of the Rogue Isle Marine Corps, one of the first and currently a top 10 villain group on Guardian. Over the years we've become mostly an alt SG, we have 6 core players and over 100 alts. I'm also currently the top villain badger on Guardian, according to Badge-Hunter.com (I like to brag about that). My 2nd-in-command is @Botley, he also happens to be the #2 villain badger on Guardian.
I started playing back in i3 I think. First character I logged on got the 1 year anniversary badge. The account was my wife's at first, until CoV went live, then I took it over. She now has her own account, @MrsAlphaOne (I see a pattern forming) and you might see her log in occasionally.
I used to be very active in leading SFs and TFs, but as my job has evolved I'm less reliable to show up on time so now I usually leave the leading to @Slacker and @LadyWillow. But if you'll looking for badges I'm always willing to help a fellow badger out, and when new badges arrive in a new issue look me up and we'll grab them in no time. -
In electrical terms, there is "chassis ground", which uses a freefloating object's structure to return electrons to the power source, and "earth ground", which bonds a power source to the earth itself to set the no-voltage level. I always assumed the power referred to earth ground since it requires you to touch the ground to receive its benefits.

So you pick the one and only exception to the rule and use that to prove a point? Weak man, weak. And as a badge hunter, I don't want to chose between, I want them all, but I'll follow the rules to get them. In other words, if I get a badge via a bug, I'll report it even if chances are I'll lose that badge, because that gives me a shot at Bug Hunter, which is much much harder to get.
-
The very definition of exploit is earning a reward via a bug. Personally I think the badges should be removed since it's unfair to players unlucky or unwilling enough to use a bug to get them. It's not like those badges are difficult to get, if the devs ever do give Primals the opportunity to get them, it won't take more than a few minutes to do so.

Try out my first MA arc "Wrath of the Luddites" (#3740). I know it's non-canon but I tried to flesh out the Luddites' back-story and King Midas (or my vision of him) appears in the final mission.

Just an FYI there's a lot of badges you can only get if you go full villain (and even one you can only get if you go all the way back around to hero). A lot of ppl are sitting as Vigies and Rogues so they can play both sides. Only reason to stick to hero or villain is to farm alignment merits.
