Just so you know, my cats completely did not approve.
I hope Deviant art doesn't get mad at me.
Also, I choose earlier subjects. They were some of the first to post submissions. -
Ok wasn't sure exactly how deviant works since I am fairly new to it.Though I do know that photobucket had a little hissy when I posted a picture of myself with a phalic image drawn on my face.
It was a VERY mild picture, cartoonish in nature, yet they deemed it highly inappropriate.
For the first one I will keep it on the safer side. -
You know, in celebration of finding my tablet nibs, I want in on this filth.
Gimme some subjects to draw.I mean I was already doodling earlier and low and behold it ended up looking "interpretable" so might as well go with it.
Also gonna need a place to host this stuff.Maybe Alex or Foo can put it up for me? Pwease? -
Not sure about anybody else, but I cannot view it.Need to log in to view.
Might want to try a site like photobucket.com.
I have never had a problem loading and viewing pics with them. -
Thanks.I tend to get a little carried away when it comes to photoshop manipulations.
I realized today that editing a real pic is sooo much easier than actually coming up with shades and colors on my own.I need a lot of practice at that, but even more practice at adding backgrounds to pictures.
I tried drawing in a sheet covered bed as the background to my most recent picture and I ended up getting frustrated and attacking it with the blur tool.
Any recommendation's as a place to look for background help? -
So I was taking some pics of my new hair cut, and when I got them onto my pc I realized that my hair reminds me of the hair I drew for my ice/dark corrupter Aliandra.
She is my current favorite pvp (yeah I said it) alt and I was bored so...Well this happened. Aliandra turned human..ish
Ah 15 minutes of wasted time. But I like how it turned out.
Just thought I would share my ridiculousness. -
Wow that first one...it takes my breath away.
That is EXACTLY the kind of emotion and personality that my art always lacks.
*jealous*
Her painting are also quite beautiful. She is very talented, and will only become more so over time. -
So while running some Cap's with my usual recipe hunting friends, I asked what I should draw next since I was "done" with my last piece.
My pal Bob shouts out "ME!" "...j/k >>."
I looked over at him, for the 5 seconds he wasn't hidden (stalker) and I realized that I actually rather liked his costume. So I took a few screenies and came up with this .
Its not quite done, but working on it took a toll on my eyes and wrist.
It is after all my first art done entirely on an art pad.I am really enjoying that if you make a mistake on the size of something, you can select it and shrink it without having to totally redraw it.
I <3 photoshop elements that came with my art pad.
As a mental break from tiny details and shading, I started a simpler styled version of my fire/rad corrupter.
Been working on it for about an hour total, and will probably put another hour in it and call it done.
Hopefully soon I can gain the strength to go back to Bob's pic and give him something I am proud of, because he is a really nice kid. ^_^
This post didn't really have a reason other than to get me to stop doodling on my art pad and go shower before I am late for yet another appointment.
p.s. I appreciate the positive feedback on my last post, but since I was so displeased with my final product, I felt that replying would only end in me complaining about the flaws I couldn't overlook. And I would hate for my insecurities and perfectionism to appear as pleas for attention. -
The clay was kneaded, and only polymer was used. Sculpey was used over my wire base to make the frame as it were, since I have an easier time widdling it down to the proper shape after its baked.
In fact my first sculpture using only sculpey never cracked.
I think it had something to do with the wire frame+plus a layer of sculpey+a more expensive and smoother clay. They probably settled differently and cracked from the pressure.
Shame too, since that technique let me get a far more detailed and flesh like finish.
Thanks for explaining how to fix the cracks though. I was afraid re-baking it would just makes things worse, so it has been sitting half done on my desk. -
Good camera or not, I have found that clay is very unphotogenic so I wish you well in finding a good pose/lighting for your figurine.I tried out clay awhile back and man did the pictures come out horrible.
Also sculpty is really difficult to get good detail with, but when I tried combining clays for my next project, the thing cracked.
I need to take a class or how to properly work with clay. -
I started a sketch for my blaster (who is now deleted and her name stolen by my thermal) about, um, 3 years ago.I meant to finish it and instead just ended up leaving it in a box to be forgotten and eventually lost.
I found an old, horribly un-detailed scan from back before I lost it, and it just sat around on my pc again forgotten.
Last Christmas I got an art pad and dug up the old scan to doodle on.I wanted to see what kind of shading I could do in photoshop now that I wasn't stuck using a mouse.
After about 15 minutes I kind of liked the way it turned out and since then have spent maybe 15-20 minutes every 3 months or so on the piece.
The original scan was too small to really get a lot of detail out of, and some parts needed to be redrawn because the scan didn't pick them up.
I again forgot about the project off and on, because lets face it, I suck at completing anything.
Yesterday I decided to finally "finish" it, well as best I could anyways with the small size.
Anywho This is how it turned out.
I really wish I was better about seeing a project to the end.And I particularly would have preferred working on something I could truly finish and not have to just give up and toss a background on because I am getting frustrated with my limitations on details.
I need a muse.A big shiny magical muse.Well that and to not be lazy and easily distracted. -

The paid expansion. Why would we go from rewarding power gamers, to rewarding the rich!?

Hyperbole much? We're not talking about buying a Rolls Royce here, we're talking about a $20-$30 purchase. And that has nothing to do with the cost of maintaining multiple accounts.
Rewarding the rich? That's one hell of a stretch you're making. The assertion is laughable, at best.

As amusing as this may seem to my current financial situation, I am POOR.I can't even afford new clothes, much less a paid expansion. My boyfriend and I made a choice to spend 30 bucks a month so that we can enjoy this game together, even though we are flat broke, and I don't think WE should have to suffer in pvp because we lack funds.
Plus as I mentioned, there would be people with multiple of these accounts, because hey, some people have that much money to blow on trying to kill somebody in a game world. -
Copy and Pasting my top ten, in absolutely no particular order.
1.Cage is overpowered since it has no workable counters. Add cage resistance (i.e., a decrease in duration caged) to one or more ally buffs.
2.Many people feel that the balance of irresistible effects in PvP needs to be reconsidered. Changing irresistible effects might be another way of balancing heroes and villains.
3.Fury does not build as intended.
4.Villains have no access to ally grantable +perception in Sirens. Either switch the order of sonic repulsion and clarity or add it to thaw or the ice shields.
5.ItÂ’s annoying to have to trudge through multiple zones to find out where the greatest amount of PvP is happening. Add a /pvpcount or other slash command that would give a count of heroes and villains in the various pvp zones. If possible include people on /hide in the count. (Just a simple heroes/number villains/number would be nice.I don't need names, I want numbers.)
6.A player can do most of the damage to another player and still get no reward if an off team player kill steals him. Award partial credit for Bounty based on damage, as is done for XP when 2 different unteamed players defeat a mob on the street.(My Corrupters work hard for those kills.)
7.The bases are vulnerable in Bloody Bay, Sirens, and Warburg. Look into better protecting the hero and villain bases either by a portal system (such as in RV) or by adding a TP resistant field in the hospital.(This would help a LOT of the "STOP CAMPING ME OR I WILL DRONE YOU!!!" broadcasts in Sirens.)
8.Not being able to use accolades while exemping favors power gamers at the expense of casual players who got their accolades later. Let accolades be used in PvP zones regardless of what level they're earned at.
9.There are no true instanced PvP missions. A popular suggestion is Hero vs. Villain in PvP enabled Safeguard/Mayhem.
10.People often want to 1v1 in the zones but have no way of doing so without getting interrupted. Add arena terminals to hero and villain bases.
Now for things I absolutely do not want to see.
The paid expansion. Why would we go from rewarding power gamers, to rewarding the rich!?
Some of these power gamers also have tons of cash, otherwise they wouldn't have multiple accounts to self buff and self PL.Imagine facing one of them in zone who has teamed himself with his 4 level 50, totally decked out defenders or corrupters?
I don't get discouraged easily, but that right there would drive me right out of the zone in annoyance.
Also it would lead to childish rich people running off to make the perfect counter to your build because you beat them in a duel.Granted they might not be very good at using a character he just purchased, but it would still be a stupid thing to have to deal with.
I am also very unsure about getting rewards for participating (dying) in pvp.I am sad that my thermal gets farmed by heroes when I team in Sirens, but I think I would be a little embarassed if I had 400 rep at all times, showing just how much I get farmed.
Haven't participated in much arena and have yet to do one raid, so I can't comment on what they need changed. -
My live in bf of 4 and a half years and I often play together.
We usually end up teaming together as its always nice to at least have one person on the team that knows what they are doing...or that you can beat into doing it right. =p
Last week we joined a pvp team in warburg with another couple and the gf sent me a /tell saying how cute it was that my bf was taunting people off my empath.
