Yup, just did it. Transferred a toon from my home server to Protector and created a place holder on my home server. Transferred back and I was prompted to change the name of the original toon after I logged in with her. It took a minute or two for the name change to go through. I hope that was easy to follow. Oh, and it doesn't look like there's a cool down for transfers either.

I do find this very frustrating. I like experimenting, and CoH's very limited supply of respecs punishes experimentation. I can't think of a build, do the math, and then try it for a few days to see whether it works in practice the way I thought it would in theory, unless I feel like spending a hundred mil or waiting for freespecs. So I tend to have conservative builds that I know are probably fine, and not try powers that I might really enjoy but which some people say aren't good choices, because if I pick a power that turns out to be useless, I'm stuck with it.
That being said, I haven't used the majority of my respecs free or otherwise. I have been at the free respec cap on my main for a couple of issues. If I could hand them out to other players I would. -

So, on topic. I think they are offering free to play services because they want more interest and thus a possibility of more revenue from those players who upgrade to VIP. Even if they only get 5% of free players to go VIP, that's 5% they didn't have before. That's just my opinion though. -

I'm getting this too on my alt account that I let go about 3 years ago. I created a villain group that eventually ended up only having the one person in it. When the account was reactivated, I could walk in just fine. Then about a day later, I tried it again and I was blocked due to base upkeep being due. So I went to pay the base upkeep. Nothing. No option to pay. So now I am sitting on a villain group with only me as the member.
Edit: Okay, so I just invited a character from my VIP account to my premium account's villain group and they can pay the rent and my alt can enter. -

Dark Regeneration - It's fine leave it alone best heal pretty much of any self heal in the game, fires fast, can be slotted with useful procs (+end for example). And if you have issues with the fear aura drop that. On my Dark/Dark brute my regen and Siphon Life (or whatever) more than make up for the damage done by the stun aura.
My problem is Speed Boost. Specifically on the above mentioned scrapper. I cannot tell you how irritating it is to run into a wall as fast as I can or shoot over enemies that I have targeted because someone buffed me. The worst part is that on the occasions that does happen, just when I get used to it, it wears off and I have to readjust my fighting style every four minutes. -

I accidentally quit a Strike Force once. I was sidekicked to a guy with a really bad connection. When he managed to log back in he would have to send me the sidekick invite everytime. This was before super sidekicking was available. Anyway I saw him log back in and I was waiting for the invite, messing around and hit yes when I saw the pop up. Didn't realize I had hit the quit button. Everyone went from green to blue and my husband (who was on the team) says "Did you just quit?!" I was playing with friends so I never lived it down.

I haven't read all of the posts yet (except on this last page) but has anyone else gotten turned into a Rikti Monkey from hitting Secondary Mutation? I laughed so hard when this popped up, that it got me killed by a gang of Carnies. I didn't care, but it went away before I could stop laughing and screen it. There were no witnesses, and I haven't gotten it to do it again since then.
It said I got a temp power and that it was called Devolution.
If that was a secret bonus, then it was done very well.

Well, this answers the question I had. I became a 5 year vet on Saturday but didn't get the badge. I logged into my master account to see if it just hadn't been updated yet, but no the time on it says 5 years, 0 months. But curiously the list of vet rewards says it will be awarded on February 23rd. I did send support a message about it, but I don't expect anything back until Monday sometime. I can wait.
Does anyone know if this affected the rewards? Like now will the next 3 month installment start from February instead of January? Just wondering. -

It's a minor annoyance for me. The first time it happend, I was surprised and thought it was a bug, so I just dismissed them. Now I have a macro in my tray to dismiss that I can use before I exit a mission. It doesn't bother me either way, I just have an extra button to push.
