A number of forums have the option. Doesn't this one?
I am not having a beef with anyone, but I have found that there are posters whose posts are clutter-ish. If I could have those easily removed from the threads I read, I probably wouldn't miss them. -

I also noticed that running netstat -a reveals that I have a connection when I log on to the server selection.
But once I pick a toon and try to zone in to the game, no connection to any other computer.
I assume the wait is the time out delay. -
iirc, we just had holes in our builds and we liked it.
That was the reason why we teamed all the time--we had to. Didn't have any of these, "I soloed the Freedom Phalanx on +4x8 with only temp powers" show-off threads that are everywhere these days. And we liked it.
If you wanted to up your def, you got a force field bubbler on your team who did nothing but bubble everyone and their pets. And he liked it.
None of these namby-pamby +def from a single enhancement tomfoolery. No, sir. No truck with that.
If you wanted some kb protection, you got your self immobilized. And you liked it. But real toons didn't need kb prot. You just stand back up again. What's so hard about that?
If you wanted to +recharge, you got a kin for your team and you yelled at him. Constantly. sbme sbme sbme sbme sbme plz sbme. And he liked it.
It used to be, if you ran a successful SF you could be rewarded with a SO. And we were glad we got them.

When I get a chcne, I am going to throw a new HD in my XP machine and load a fresh install in hopes that will fix it up.

Bear in mind that while the differences are there, and the differences are real, the performance differences can take a spreadsheet to notice sometimes.
The further you are willing to push the concept, the larger you can make the differences become. But, iirc, we're often talking about differences that are within 10% of one another.
The biggest difference, the most noticeable difference is in the contrast between crits and fury. -

I have this problem on one of my machines, but not the other.
The problem machine is winXP.
The non-problem machine is win7.
both with ATI vid cards.
The problem machine worked just fine for years and has only recently started this. -

It's fair to middlin with no real reason to choose it over one of the other sets, imho. -

The differences between really good and even better will be kind of small when it comes to pairing with WP. Unless you have some more specific goal.
