Hey, if you have THAT much inf to throw away, mind throwing it my way?

I get the reasoning behind Inf sinks. I just don't think the game has any decent ones. And to the OPs idea, I don't actually posses enough Hell No! to unsign it with. Not everyone has a walking bank toon they can jsut dive to when they need stuff. Some of us have to do things the old fashioned way, because the market isnt so easy for some of us, and lady luck tends to deal foul hands in the drops department. -
I find Redside much more fun now I can tell Arachnos exactly where to go stuff it. My main, Alpha, has beaten up pretty much anyone to get in his way to date, stolen everything not nailed down, everything that was nailed down while also stealing the nails, and generally been a badass.
I recently made him a full on Villain again because, meh, V-merits are better, I wasnt using his Rogue status for anything and, when all is said and done, he does have a mean streak a mile wide when the mood takes him. So, hey, why not?

Quote:Yeah, this thread is apparently one of those dark alleyways you accidentally meander into among the generally betterthanthis community forums we have here.
I'm sorry I bothered to post in here, let alone ask for actual intelligent, helpful advice, hehe.
Tech... we can turn around and leave or nuke 'em...

Man, who slotted this thread for Unlimted Radial Doucheness? 'Cos it sure spread it around a lot...

It's annoying the personal attacks cost so much end, even if the damage never got changed. Alpha is ok with the cardiac slot now, and he'll upgrade some more when the sencond half of the slot comes out and I get him the Very Rare Damage one.
But the end cost is pretty lousy, all things said. -
I could come up with a well reasoned, logical and clear arguement with points well made.
Would it be worth it?
No.
So, have a demotivational instead;

Quote:Uhm...not really? All I've seen is people stating the reasons, pretty civilly, why they prefer solo and how the Devs, in the past, have made that a possibility that keeps everyone happy.I love how this thread started as "You should team if you have problems, people who are having problems" and devolved into "I AM ENTITLED TO SOLO EVERYTHING, DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, I AM DESERVING OF ALL THINGS I REQUEST!"
Sad. I'm going to go back to smashing apart Malta.
Oh, and people like your good self telling them, effectively, they are 'Doing it Wrong.' Which might just be why some people are getting snappy at all. -

I think I have a few plans to toss in here, as already mentioned. Especially one detailing investigation, a shot at redemption and blasts from the past
-
Daaaamn, that looks good.
The faces are incredible. Simply incredible.
And...the dude can smile! It makes me want to aww, damn you! -
Quote:Oh, snapWhile you're free to have your opinion I will at least correct you on your facts: The character bio limit in the game has always been 1024 characters. This game has never seen an increase in this area. *shrugs*
[EDIT] I just checked and ironically your post was 1,061 characters long. How does it feel to criticize people's desire for more space when you couldn't even concisely express your ideas in the amount of space this game provides for this kind of thing?

Quote:So...This is tho, it could be considered an exploit since the bifurcations are totally negated that way.
1) Kill them, negating them and Beat Trapdoor = Ok
2) Manage to pull Trapdoor out, negating them and Beat Trapdoor = OMFG hAx epxloiters!!
See where I'm coming from?
Personally, I just pointed at him and my bots made him very, very laserfied
But thats not the point. I have the slotting and playstyle to pull that off. Others with otehr ATs may not. So, why penalise them?

Anyone here seen the BBC adaption, I think just called 'Sherlock' set in modern times?
I don't think theres enough excellence to describe that series
I hope they do more.

Quote:Because, get this; Not everyone plays the same way you do. Not everyone will find the things you and others find easy to be so easy. Stuff you find hard they may find easy.
For the life of me, I can't understand why you people are having so much trouble with this encounter. No I really don't.
People and their opinions and experiences differ. Fact of life. -
Quote:Fun is subjective. For me, fun is being able to beat an encounter through either power or use of tactics as necessary. For example, the ITF we ran yesterday. We pulled Requiem and Rommy on the second last mission, because there were only six of us and, while we werent speed running, we didn't fancy slogging through the whole top platform. So we pulled, and dealt with the encounter the way we chose to, not the way we were forced to.I admit that charging the Phalanx isn't for every team though. But it IS very much doable for balanced teams with people who are on the ball, WITHOUT nukes or shivans. I find it a blast to do it that way. Beats the heck out of pulling them and plowing over them 1 or 2 at a time. Yey fun. I'm not saying I do it everytime without wiping, we wiped 3 times on the LRSF yesterday, but it is my preferred method.
Also, Shivans aren't my favourite pet. Hardly ever use em myself. I find them horribly OP. They trivialise every encounter and wouldn't mind if they were removed from the game, same for HVAS. Yea, I know good thing I'm not running this show, eh?
Thats the very important difference. Having a choice. Sure, you can beat an AV by doing it the "Right Way". Or you can get creative and find ways to do things differently. Sometimes they'll take a lot longer but be safer. Sometimes they'll be very quick, but also risk 'Win or Teamwipe. The important part is having a choice.
Not having a choise simply blows. Pure and simple. -
Quote:Again, that's not keeping up. Even Con minions is keeping up, since there are a shed load more of them for each player on the team. Making there be more of them AND +4? Again, I'll have to see how that pans out in practice not just theory, but it sounds a little cheap to me.The minions are just trying to keep up. The Director, besides being a bad ***, has a tactically sound setup going in his fight. He's in that new warehouse room with the stacked storage shelves, and he's running around in between them, breaking LoS, and like the Persians' arrows in 300, enough trip mines to blot out the sun.
So, he's moving, you go to shoot him from a rare tripmine free place, he ducks behind a shelf, you move, but that triggers a 3-4 sec timer (which do have a visible countdown) on a mine, you keep moving etc, etc. Overall effect is that the ranged fighters damage output on him is lowered considerably. I long ago dropped hover, so even floating up and shooting him i was still pretty gimped, output wise. I had my musculature in...next time I'll try with my cardiac radial.
And that encounter at least sounds fun. We'll have to see. -
Especially if your solo. Because it still doesn't seem to be true. I know I was getting charged by a LOT more than 17 when doing that damn mission on Alpha.
-
Quote:Yes, because everyone is psychic and knows before the mission that Holtz is going to have the curse.Just want to point out, since a lot of people don't seem to know, that you can get a temp power of the vanguard crafting table that clears the Curse of Weariness. 50 V. merits
Again, NPCs Cheat. Holtz has the powers of a Colonel AND a VG Wizard all mashed into one and cranked up to EB level. -
Quote:This is the reason people pull and all the usual tactics, in a nut shell.*Exception for Barracuda, since without a MM/defender OR a decent amount of debuffs Reichsy cheats.
AVs aren't tactical challenges, for the most part. They don't require clever thinking, or puzzle methods.
Their just a big sack of HP, regen and mez resistance with stupidly high accuracy and damage that cheat. The LRSF final mission made me unbelievably frustrated and angry when, even after getting your favourite pet, Shivans, and team stacking vengeance on them, we STILL died. Why? Guess what? The Phalanx cheat! Their all set at level 54, and theres 8 of them! How on earth is that a fair, tactical fight for eight villains limited to level 50? Why else do you think people prefer to Nuke them from orbit? Because, out of the whole SF, that one mission is a load of stinking doos. -
Hmn, this bodes well...pft.
+4 on the teams of peeps I know should be doable. Hell, Alpha has enough defence to negate a chunk of that. But I agree just from reading the description that it sounds 'Not good'.
@Furio
Quote:Yeah, that's not keeping up from the sounds of it. Thats 'The Computer is a Cheating *******' in action, just at a glance. Boss fights being tough? Sure, that makes sense. But the rest of it just sounds like....well, I dunno. I'm gonna have to try it out for myself. All the supers they're facing are getting more powerful, so they've gotta keep up. Sure they could have explained the how of that better in the TF, if they even tried, but overall I'm ok with it.
I did quip after the Director 11 fight. "He just fought 8 proto Incarnates, by himself, to a near draw for like 15-20 mins...and *we're* the threat to the world?" -
Quote:Wow, a helluva lot of people are gonna disagree with that one.I think pulling is a lame and cheesy 'tactic' that should be countered by the devs as much as possible.
Like, potentially a lot of people playing certain ATs such as Blasters, Corrs, PBs, anything with range that still goes squish... -
Really? I thought that that looked like some kinda Incarnate armour...unless that 'What could this be?' screenie snippet was something else.
Also, what is the deal with us not getting the actual PPD armour? I personally think it looks a lot cooler than the TEST armour, especially the helmet. The TEST helmet is sat way too far forward. Oh, and the giant gauntlets. Why are we the ONLY ones with piddly tiny gauntlets? -
And to prestige in the SG tab, please.
