This is just common sense, agree 100%
Now just sit back and wait for the flames from all the other AT's telling us we Tankers whine to much, and that version of Rage would make us Uber
[/ QUOTE ]
They won't have to do that.
The dead silence from the developers about Rage (including the fact that a new version was placed on the test server without a post about it) sorta tells me how they feel about Rage and having to deal with it.

In my organization, this is called a non-trivial programming issue. Non-trivial as in "Mommy, why is that programmer up there on that window sill?"

5 stars. I loved that! -
I hear you, blue.
I've touched my tanker twice since I3 came out (though I did a lot testing on the test server). Once was to trade some influence, the other was for a brief spot of roleplay that got interrupted when all the west coast servers crashed.
Otherwise, I've been playing unlisted alts. -
Please see my post here as to why both the live Rage and the test Rage don't work.
EDIT: Weird, one of the mods must've deleted and/or moved some posts around. It seems to be working right now. -
Once again, I find myself agreeing 100% with Goldie.
Just take out Rage and replace it with Build Up. -
Now that you're back from your unexpected time away Statesman, can we please get an update on the situation with Rage? I'd really like to get back to playing my favorite character, please?
-
So, Statesman and company...
Can we have an ETA on this change to Rage, please? I haven't been able to play my tanker at all since I3 came out. I'd really like to do so again, sometime soon. Please? -
I believe what you're seeing is the effect of having 6-slotted stamina; you're recovering endurance almost immediately.
If you hover your cursor over your end bar when Rage drops, it goes to 0.
The end result is the same: total toggle drop. -
The problem with the solution on the test server now, is that a super strength tanker goes from the possibility of toggle loss and stun from one more stunning hit, to a guarenteed toggle loss.
Whereas now, I can at least keep my status protection up to help protect myself from any other stunning/sleep/hold/immobilizing attacks while I ride out the disorient from Rage, with the current incarnation on Test, I am left endurance-less/held/chain-held/defeated 100% of the time.
Please leave Rage alone. Thank you. -
From the bottom of my heart, I just want to say thank you, Statesman. Now that I know that you and the dev team are aware of Ice Armor's issues, I feel better again.
-
Yay, finally a reply! But one question, if I may.
While the effort to fix Ice Armor is appreciated, are you and the dev team aware that stacking of armors won't be of much good with the set's lack of sleep resistance? Even with stacking armors, they'll all just drop once the sleep hits us. Thanks. -
Two Epic ATs? A bunch of new epic power pools?
Bah. They can keep them.
I'd rather see the broken and overpowered skillsets fixed first, before it gets even harder to balance the game. -
I guess I've just become too jaded to the sort of things that have been going in this game now, but I just can't take Tisirin's statement about the devs reading the boards at face value.
I mean, c'mon. There's so many issues with the current powersets, and they're going to add 2 epics archetypes and an unknown number of epic power pools?
There's too many things that need to be addressed. Fire-type attacks need the DoT removed from them; in their place, there should be an accuracy debuff. Energy blast's knockback needs to get the same treatment as the Tankers got for their knockback. Blizzard needs an overhaul. Invulnerability as a Scrapper secondary needs something, it seems to me to be overpowered. Ice armor needs an overhaul, the stacking of armors is not going to help this set if the armors are not changed any.
Foremost, the devs need to learn to strike a balance between how much in the way of responses they give on these boards. I agree, they were responding far too much before; but now they've clammed up, only making an appearance to basically pat themselves on the back. This only makes them look even more out of touch with the game as it current stands then they do now. While they don't need to return to the level of responses they showed when the game first went live, they need to actually show that they're paying attention.
Finally, the point about the PCC is a valid one. Instead of basically throwing CuppaJo and her compatriots to the wolves as they've been doing so far, I feel a better use for these events would be to have an actual theme. One week would be balance issues within the archetypes, next week would be addressing major bugs, etc. Also, at least one dev needs to make an appearance, though not every week. Say once a month or so.
Just my two influence. -

No new powersets outside of epic AT's. (apparently. No big surprise - new powersets are probably an insane amount of work.)
No changing power colors. (issue 4 and beyond)
No changing/altering weapons, (pushed to issue 4 and beyond.)
No skills system. (Pushed to issue 4 and beyond.)
No epic AT's with requirements outside of level 50. (Old news: Issue 4 and beyond.)
No Dark Armor/Rock Armor/Ice Armor/etc. stacking of armor powers. (Last I heard, To be looked at after Issue 3.)
I heard mission sliders. I also heard it was pushed back. Hopefully a dev can comment - it's a great feature if it's in.

Nice Summary, Just a couple more tid bits to add:
- I am sure Statesman commented that this issue would see water areas being populated with mobs
- Tanks have been promised a change where their damage increases as a fight progresses. no word on when this will be released other than a mention that it was a difficult coding change.
- Statesman said when CoH was released that the reason for limiting Supergroups to 75 Heroes would soon be revealed. That there was an exciting reason for this.

Squashed because it allowed Tankers to do more damage than Scrappers. Now it's something more... 'comic-booky'. Whatever that means. -

I used Build Up and Aim then threw it at an Eochai, it was pure comedy. Wish I had demo'd it.

Hearing that made me almost spray Dr. Pepper at my monitor. LOL!! -
Wondering what all the fuss was about, I took a few of my many low level tester alts for a spin.
My opinion's this: if you've played the game before and you know how it works, it's now a fun challenge. But if you're on your first character? Things are gonna be overwhelming quick. I'd personally like to see a happy medium struck between the current situation and where it was before, where those of us that're enjoying the new challenge may continue to find these situations, and where those that are still learning the ropes, or those that want more to relax, can still do these things. -

Sorry Smak, I'm stumped. Everything you've got there looks fine. With the error messge you are getting, I've only ever seen that when the path or file name was wrong, so that's where I'd look. That's not to say that something else won't cause it. If you've done that and they are fine, I don't know what else to suggest.
The only other things I can think of:
Have you sucessfully bound any functions to the mouse buttons before? I've heard some mention about button4 and button5 not being supported by CoH. I don't know if this is hardware specific, or something that has been sloved. Maybe try a couple 'standard' keys just to check?
You do have hover and fly, right?
If you want, leave your e-mail address. I can send you the exact files I use, and you can just modify the path and keys as you need. I must admit, I can't see anything wrong with what is here, so I don't know if that will help.
Not sure what else to say. Sorry.

I know for certain that with my mouse, 'button5' does not work. All I have for that /bind is Hover (with the correct syntax, I've checked it by using it on another key, then CaP'ing it to button5 just to be sure). Perhaps that's the problem. I know the fact that I can't get the 5th button on my mouse kinda urks me, since I want to use the 4th and 5th buttons to switch between Fly and Hover on my Tanker. -
Odd. I see a few people are using 'button5', which is the fifth button on the mouse. Yet, as far as I know, that button still can't be used in the game. In fact, before I posted, I checked real quick to see if the bind I'd set to it (which was just Hover) was working, but nothing happened. No error message either (so I know the command wasn't typed in wrong).
Anyone know what gives? I'm using a MS Trackball Optical on a USB connection. -
My main RP character is my tanker, Halley's Comet. A couple of you know her, since I recognize your names from the game, and have probably even grouped with you once or twice.
Quick summary of her background (I'm currently working out her background, but I'm withholding it until I have it to my liking): Barely 18, shares her birthday with the last passing of Halley's Comet. Afflicted with an incurable, unknown ailment that would cause her body temperature to spike over 110 if not for the cooling system built into her cybernetic arms. Two side effects of the ailment: super tough body, and superhuman strength. Come find me for RP, I'm always up for some!
