NC Soft's videos= Long winded and tiresome after 1 minute
Sam's video= Short, sweet, to the point
You just earned yourself a Youtube subscription young lady -
My main toon and badger hasn't even finished all of the story arcs available to her, not even through Ouroboros. I have far too many toons and not enough time to play to accomplish such an endeavor.

Probably because most SGs strive to have MONSTER bases as big as city zones. The base of my SG is built so that you won't have trouble finding anything . In fact, you can see the teleporter room right from the entrance. I believe in convenience

I remember how much fun last year's event (my first) was and I can't wait to do it agin. I just hope it doesn't take forever to get a golden title like last time.

Minor inconvenience. Won't stop me from taking out Freakshow, Crey, and any other mobs that apply.

Silver bullets just for Council wolves? Isn't that just a little bit too nitpicky? Who needs silver bullets when you got toxic rounds baby

You have hunger pains from the infestation devouring your intestinal lining and making transdimensional interfaces into visual companions while enjoying pickles soaked in prune extract overnight betwixt thousands upon thousands of gleaming spectacles vomiting extremely vile copious bile onto unsuspecting sentient cockroaches, which oddly feels like a hot roast beef/salmon entering a very cavernous mouth, and stimulates frenzied ferrets in perpetual, harmonized, synchronized, and, ironically, disproportionate proportions of reefer

Quote:That's something to take into consideration, and I'd be inclined to do that if going vigilante doesn't affect the supposed loyalty rewards, if there were to be any. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how that's going to work.Easiest In-character solution for going "Vigilante" while maintaining your Heroic Identity, in-character:
Your character becomes a "Vigilante" in the Rogue isles, not in Paragon. Do the side-changing arcs, re-write the story slightly so you're hunting bad guys, not good guys, in your personal continuity. Once you're considered a Vigilante head to the Rogue Isles to mete out some Justice, in-character (I call Heroes in the Isles "Purpleside"). Get your badges, go home.
And yes. It is possible to break the law in the Rogue isles. Contrary to popular belief the "Darwinism" rule doesn't apply to -everyone-. Just Recluse, his minions, and the Destined Ones. Otherwise there would be no Rogue Isles Police or Arbiters (Judges). And if you read -anything- on Recluse, you'll know that he hates heroes utterly. Regardless of whether they broke "his" laws or the laws of the Etoille he'd still hunt them down and kill them.
So in the Rogue Isles you would be considered a vigilante, rather than a hero. Recluse would sic the media on you, spreading lies and propaganda to keep the public from holding you up as a symbol of hope. Arachnos would attack you at every turn. Even Longbow Agents could be taken in by the slander and come after you, thinking you're just another "Destined One".
So. From an in-character standpoint it can make perfect sense with just a tiny bit of tweaking. Your character would still be a true hero, she'd just be lending a hand to the downtrodden people of the Rogue Isles. Happy Badging.

I realize that every single badge in the game may not be attainable, and I can live with that. It's just all those villain side badges look so shiny, but I don't want Lioness to miss out on the rewards for staying true to blue either. I don't know, would you still get the loyalty rewards if you just went vigilante but not full-villain?

I was perusing Paragon Wiki and read up on I17, particularly the new badges. I read the part that stated that the new "1,000 badges earned" wouldn't be available until GR, and then it hit me like a brick; My main character and badger Pink Lioness is a hero to the core. In order for her to gain as many more badges as possible, she would have to... TURN HEEL! Now I'm conflicted. I want her to have those villain side badges, but I don't want to ruin my number one hero by turning her bad just for prideful badge scavenging. What's a man to do

I like CoX for what it is, and the only way I would feel compelled to play a different kind of game with CoX slapped on it is if were a well-done game in and of itself. I wouldn't be too excited about a crappy "City of Heroes Kart Racing" game.

That basically kills my strategy for fighting Freakshow. My bread and butter was keeping a downed Freakshow targeted so I could nail him the very millisecond he resurrected. Not the end of the world and certainly not a deal breaker, but come on man. Most pointless, unnecessary tweak in quite some time.

Okay. Thanks.

My account lapsed in early January and I got it back in late February. It lapsed again in March but I got it back earlier this month, and I intent to pay for it again next month. That would be three paid months since my first account lapse. My question is, will I get a vet badge for those three spaced-out months or do the months for a vet badge have to be consecutive?

I don't. I'm more comfortable with the game sounds. I tried listening to my own music while playing, but I love my music library so much that I get distracted by it. I'll be trying to all dance and sing along and then I'll get plastered by an elite boss and ****. It just ain't worth it.

I love that site TV Tropes, and I definitely saw the CoH page. It was funny seeing all the tropes they listed and go "Yeah, that IS in the game!"

Any missions that I've actually tried to do but for one reason or another cannot find the final objective. I don't have time to be searching for that one last Clockwork patrol.
Any mission that has a boss that my character just cannot beat, which is rare, but I never said I was Superleetgamer who always be winning.
Any mission that is terribly outdated, as in outleveled, and for whatever reason is still on my mish list.
And sometimes, I just don't dammit to hell feel like doing a mission and want to get to the next one dammit. -
First of all, welcome to the city my man
I wouldn't say right way vs wrong way to build your character. I'd say efficient vs inefficient. For a little more guidance on building a better Blaster (or any archetype for that matter) you should consult the Achetypes & Powers section of the boards. They have a lot of helpful tips on builds and tactics.
By way, my first Blaster was a fire/fire. Great damage, and the fire secondary provides good melee attacks for when the baddies get too close. -

Yeah mon! I co-sign dem devs givin' us dreadlocks mon! Respect to Jah!

I'll be 30 in June. It has always seemed to me like the CoX player base is older than with other games, but that's fine by me. Means more mature civilized people as opposed to a bunch of obnoxious kids running around being obnoxious in leet speak.

I suppose if I had a regret, it would be deleting my very first Tanker. She was at level 38 when I fried her, and I did so because I wasn't very good at tanking. But if I'd just been patient and learned the right way to play a tanker I could have had a really cool level 50 toon by now.
