  1. Just watched it.

I've never read the Dirk Gently books so I can't say what they are like in relation to that.

I did however, enjoy the show, it was fairly good. A nice little tale that was mildly amusing and kind of interesting.

In "Father's Day" Rose holds her infant self and causes further damage to time. Even 2 versions of the sonic screwdriver touching caused a discharge of energy.
My guess is that the Doctor was able to use the TARDIS to minimize or prevent any problems of past and future versions meeting.
Honestly, if you're watching Doctor Who for it's consistency in canon, then you're doing it wrong.

It could have been explained by a bit technobabble, but really it was better to just let the plot flow as it was.

The First Doctor once stated that "History can not be rewritten. Not a jot!".

That's pretty much just Doctor Who in general.

That's because iPlayer is a service provided to license payers for free with the purpose of letting people catch up on missed TV. iTunes however is a store, so they won't get it until around the time the DVDs come out.

    Still, must suck for you.

  9. First option. Hopefully I could somehow hibernate until something actually interesting starts to happen... I don't fancy several billion years floating in an empty void.
  10. Of course, that's a problem inherent with every machine translator. The question is, does it change in real time so awesomely and is it "understandable" if not 100% correct.

Does it work as well as in the vid?
  12. That video was awesome. I wish there had been one central character to root for though. But free for alls are cool too.

Nic Cage is awesome and would have been the best Superman ever...
  14. Superman Lives. The doomed Tim Burton reboot of the Superman franchise. It was to feature Nic Cage as the man of steel... and also kinda make him a cyborg thingy goth-y type person.

Anyway, now you too can see what the suit might have looked like in action...

    This.

For a start, it seems to be taking the source material seriously.

In addition, it doesn't have dodgy cgi masks.

  21. Even "good" films do it. You could point out hundreds of such problems with ANY film.

As I said, you're basically complaining that a technically amazing fireworks display had a stupid plot.

I haven't felt stupid after watching a Transformers film, I've thought "hey, that was pretty fun."

And you're right, a movie doesn't NEED to be either/or. But there's no reason it's CAN'T be either/or. Or are you going to complain that *insert popular dramatic film here* didn't have enough fight scenes?

I...shouldn't be surprised. I really shouldn't. But it's so mind numbingly depressing as to just how easily people are satisfied.
Heaven forbid people sit back and just enjoy a spectacle. I consider it the movie equivalent of watching a fireworks display. Sit down with a drink, some popcorn, watch pretty explosions for 90 minutes and just have some fun.

I think there's room in this world for both deep thought provoking films and films that are just explosions and stuff. No reason people can't have and enjoy both.
