re: ghost - rawr!!
I'd love to get a couple of these guys! Pixel art is harder than it looks, I saw your 'rant' post and I have to say, you're great at this, keep it up!
Could I pester you for Winter's true Spirit? -

Yeah pretty much with the sig line he's got (and having seen the discussion leading up to it) that was at least 60% of the reason I started this project at all... I wanted to name his elf Bananahammock.,,..... heh.
I'll keep updating, when I finish the next batches of these. -
Well if you've been in Protector recently you know I'm working on an Elfquest style Holt on my parallel fantasy world the Otherforest. (See linky in my sig!)
I just wanted to show off a bit and get Vbelle to show off her lovely in-game rendition too
Vorac as Alloy
Vbelle as Sharpshot
Sooner as Mink
Saint as Tailor
MfA as Blazon
Kythorn as Pirate!
Armorshot as Faceplant
Aerones as Hammock
Any feedback would be fun, and I'm still taking folks (protector preferred ) be sure to tell me your forum name if you use the link. -
I would love to send that to Rob Lifeld.

I know you like the anime style - but what might make your works more 'believable' in terms of shading, is the eyes. More realistic eyes would change the entire way a face looks. I noticed on one of your first examples there, there was adequate shading to show where a light source was, and the shape of the face and neck, but the eyes appear rather flat compared to that. They're striking, and it's a cute picture none the less, but it's a strong contrast to the actual depth that the rest of the face and head have.
That said, just keep drawing! I mean... I can't do anything even remotely like the image you use to example what you mean, it's why I choose to anthropomorphize or elf-ize people so I can get their 'essence' instead of their 'appearance'... -

Heres my next try. I dont really like showing skin to much, dont know why...I prefer all tights n' mask x.x

Even though you might not prefer it, I actually like this one best - and the 'retro jacket' yellow and black with flame on the side of the legs comes a close second. Not fond of that purple one much. -
I posted this in the Costume thread but here's the bug thread and it's more of a bug.
Female (untested in other shapes) Hats - Stocking Cap is listed twice. First one is the prior model holiday Santa hat, the second is farther down the list, and is the typical dock-worker hat. -
Wow.... IBTL +1.
You must realize how insulting that reads, with all your caps and stuff? I mean yes, you have points. However.... you really ought to take a few minutes break before posting any more. Or a night. Sit in front of the TV and watch Grey's Anatomy. It'll give you time to cool off and stop namecalling.
Lighthouse is doing his job - as are other moderators. And seriously, your posting like this is making their job much harder because they've gotta sort through whether its flaming or accidentally going over the top.
Good luck to the mods, and like I said... .IBTL. -

Threadomancy FTW!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah wow. I thought this was a thread I had missed so I kept clicking the link and got nothing. Finally I looked up at the date of the first post and saw it said ??/??/04. Heh.
[/ QUOTE ]
Me too - and what a great new term, threadomancy. -
I'm not too fond of the goggles, actually, but the armor bits look good. Keep the color scheme of black and red, it's good. I dont' think MarDun would be MarDun without that look.
-
No, just wait until I get a cape on my cat Albi. .... I've got the PERFECT picture of him for flying around. I've already put my cat Toots in the Matrix, Bullet time toots.
I'm just trying to find good ones of my other cats to use in funny situations -
I'm glad folks like it I'm trying to figure out a couple others, since I have like 8 cats myself and LOTS of pictures of them, so there may be more later.

You owe me a new laptop, thanks to the sprite you made me spit at it... -
Deviantart is SLOW. Just slow. It's always been slow. It's been hella-slow recently. Loads of time-outs and stuff.
But it's still there, it's not like they're going anywhere. Not with all the advertisement space slowing the place down. -
Thank you thank you! Winter's True Spirit looks awesome! (And I loved the Gnome too)
-
Absolutely love a bunch. WYA already mentioned, he's so excellent.

You don't have to have any 'talent' for art - there's a page linked ... somewhere... (possibly in the COH discussion thread about 'failed motivational posters) that you can just upload your art and put in your wording.
Surely you have some screenies. -
-
Yes, I have to agree it's a great start!
In order to make this or other characters a bit more 'heroic scale' you may want to make them 1 or 1.5 heads taller. Right now he's 6, which is very human. Extend the legs a little (keep the hands falling just over the middle of the thigh or just below the hips) to give a little more of a 'heroic' proportion.
Otherwise: hands, dude, you've got hands nicely done. They're usually THE hardest things and it looks like you tackled em really well. -
You need to be viewing the plain old image, and take only the begining of the link (down to the image # / ) and post that so we can see it
-
I'd suggest trying to make your own too. I couldn't find any good blanks on a short google and deviantart search. :/ Sorry.

South, chibis aren't Starchasm's own creation either. It's okay, and I'd love to see what Derek does with it.
Heck, I'd like to see head to head chibification all around! If I had the talent for it I'd do em too... but since I don't, I will just sit it out...
