Need help creating new character...

Hello all, I need some serious help with creating my Hero. I have spent like 4 hours just staring at the screen going through the unlimited combinations trying to find a costume I enjoy. She is going to be an Elec/Elec/Elec character...but I don’t want to look like the normal Elec blaster with the lighting stripes all over.

This is all I have so far…any help? She looks boring =(

I don't have access to the costume creator, so I don't know how this would look, but:

Try:

Tops w/ Skin - Frost (I think it is called that) Make it yellow, or w/e you associate w/ electricity.
Then, make tights with the electric bolts on the sides. make the bolts black to match your skin, and the primary color one that matches your top. I dunno'... I think that might look cool. You could try Thigh Highs too.


Here's a tip: come up with a backstory -- a personality. That will help you decide what your character would wear, not what people think is "In" at the moment

- first thing first is vary the color up some, don't add so much black and yellow everywhere. Definitely don't make the hair color the same as the majority of your costume. Try adding a 3rd color into the mix that works well with your concept. adding some skin to the costume generally solves this for most people though.
- when going with all tights, start with the chest pattern first, then work on either the gloves or legs next. Makes it bit easier to find likeable pattern combinations.
- I would suggest changing both colors to start out for and try some less "dark" combinations (since you are a hero). Also ditching the disco pants for something else would be a good idea too, unless you are going to add in some skin.

...her look depends on her background (imo). if you could possibly paint her in broad strokes, historywise) I am sure the gang can come up with something for you to get started with ~

I tried to stick with your black and yellow design--though it's difficult not to look like a wasp or bee of some sort:

I know I used fire stripe and the three sawblades, but they aren't usually used for electric, and yet, I think they represent it fairly well.

That's a no background throw it out there kind of thing.

I like the concept of the costume so far, it needs a little help. Try something besides black, maybe a dark grey to lighten thinsg up. That's really all I can say, it doesn't seem all that boring to me...

Well, one idea is to embrace the bee or wasp concept, in which case, bzzz!

If you don't like that, I've found the Tribal pattern can look good for something electricity-like, without using the standard lighting pattern all over. And with that in mind, here's my other idea.

Even though you might not prefer it, I actually like this one best - and the 'retro jacket' yellow and black with flame on the side of the legs comes a close second. Not fond of that purple one much.

However, I'd really like to know what you think of the other ones you were shown.

Yer picies were okay Ravenbane but I dont want to be a bee, and the other dosent have enough matching pieces

I tried something a little different - instead of using electric/lightning icons as part of the costume, I decided to build a costume that looks like it is trying to insulate all the electricity her body is producing. Somewhere along the way I was also struck by the idea of electric fish - specifically an electric manta ray and this is what I ended up with:

The wings aren't quite right for a manta and if you think the grey/black combo is too subdued, then switching it to your original yellow/black brightens it up a lot but you lose the 'fishy' feel. Of course you might just hate the whole fish concept anyway!

In any case I hope this sparks some ideas for you.

Of your actual designs this is my favorite so far. Of course, you didn't say anything about mine, so our tastes are probably quite different.

My second favorite of your designs is the purple one.
