Quote:It's supposed to. It doesn't, not reliably. I have multiple times had my flag look like it's set to "not looking" (default) but "not accepting" (red text, auto-decline) has stealthily carried over from my last character/from my last login. One other difference, and I might be wrong about this, so feel free to correct me if so because I'm not in a place where I can check this right now (as if someone wouldn't ), but if I'm not mistaken, every time you log out and log back on, the "looking for..." status is set back to its default, so you can't unintentionally get stuck on "Not Looking."
Of course, once they implemented the new /hide functions, I basically never have to set to "not accepting". /hidesearch is *so* my friend. -
Quote:Which is exactly the same thing
Any item that you receive that can't be sold, traded or otherwise removed from an avatar without deleting the item is a bound item.
Restricting trade/sold/etc. mimics BoP, but is not the same. The end result looks the same, but the code is very different. (WoW also has untradeable/unsellable/etc. items: but they are not bound on pickup.) -
-
Quote:I doubt these are actually bind on pickup, and more like using the same code that Tickets and Merits do. Untradeable, unmarketable, unsellable.Does all that stuff affect powers? My concern is that Castle wanted bind on pick up for pvp ios and said the tech didn't exist. If i understand it correctly it does now. I guess it all depends on how strong they are as procs but still if they are adding a couple of ios with bind on pickup it feels like more are to come.
-
For example, in WoW, any item that, once it is in your backpack, is bound to you is BoP. It doesn't matter the source. Crafting, official items from the devs (usually sent by way of an item attached to an email), drops from enemies, etc.

Congrats Shia, and also to Pyro and Juggs.
And for someone who claims to have no artistic skills, Bubba, you came pretty darn far! Congrats, and hope to see you in the next FArt contest -
Email inf/items. Has to be to a @GlobalName. Can't be cross faction (hero<->hero, villain<->villain).

Quote:Not only no, but HELL NO. I have witnessed a bajillion newbies (not noobs) go from "eh, this game is neat, I'll think about subbing at the end of my trial" to "wow, this community is awesome, I'm totally subbing RIGHT NOW!" in the space of one thread. Every account needs to have access to the forums, whether they will utilize it or not.But really, trial accounts have no need to post. Most people on paid accounts don't post, and yet still manage to play the game. Asking questions in-game usually gets you an answer anyway.
And anyway, help channel is still broken... selecting the Help tab and submitting your question still results in an error that /help does not take any args. (/help opens the support window now.) The Help tab still has not been updated to the new /hc command to talk into the Help channel. A newbie isn't going to know what the hell that error means. -
Quote:Just a technicality, the cap was reduced to 50, not 60.In the major revision to the mechanics of taking Hamidon down, the zone capacity of the Hive was reduced to 60, preventing the mass influx of people seeking to get an HO on the cheap, and changed the mechanism of taking him down to not require groups larger than the zone capacity.

Basically, not anymore. They haven't done anything like that in quite a while. They updated the "fansites" part once... two years ago or so...

Quote:The way Guy Perfect phrased it, no, he was conflating two similar but different terms ("On Patrol" for day job badges, where you logout anywhere and get credit for Patroller; and "patrolling" for the "M" and "N" citizens, where you are logged into the game doing ANYTHING)."On Patrol" is whenever you go street-sweeping, which I guess is detected by some funky code or other. It isn't anything to do with the Day Jobs because they had the dialog before those were introduced.
"N" names are how many times you have "gone on patrol" - how many times that character has logged into the game.
"M" names are how long you have been "on patrol" - how long that character has spent logged into the game.
Neither "N" nor "M" citizens care about what or where you are doing, or not doing, whatever it is you are doing, or not doing. -
Since I don't limit myself to one server, I almost never delete characters. If I think up a new character idea, I have eleven servers to put them on. I'm full or nearly full on Justice, Infinity, and Virtue, though, so occasionally if I have an idea that fits specifically one of those servers, there is pruning to do. It's very rare that one of my character creations requires a certain server, though.

Quote:New Hamidon on a server that has the tactics down pat takes very little time to complete; about 45 minutes on average for Justice server, which includes defeating GMs to spawn Hami in the first place. The only problem Justice has is that half the regular raiding folks are very casual about arriving in the zone on time. ;pI've only participated in a Hamidon battle a couple of times, and each time it was a lengthy and ridiculous process with an extremely meager reward. I can see why it might make it onto such a list.
Old Hamidon was anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours. And the only way to get 45 minutes was with basically every raider being a veteran of the task. -
Quote:Oh yeah. Even better were the moochers that waited and watched global channels for someone to slip up and mention that Hami was almost dead, then would come in for their one hit on Hami to get their HO.He mentions that there a problem with people leeching HOs off the raids. Was he just throwing more fodder on the fire, or was that an actual problem?
That ticked me off so bad... more than anything else about old Hami.
On Justice, we stopped announcing where we were in any public channel to fend off the mooches. Of course, some mooches switched tactics and relied on friends who actually were participating to inform them of the best time to come in for their one hit. -
Quote:I'm sorry, I was enjoying some DELICIOUS tikka masala and babbling with a large group of people at the time.I used to know the answer to this, but then I got old, and forgot. Stupid CRS!! *shakes fist*
I hereby summon Matteo, er... Master-Blade to answer this question!!
Of course, Aggelakis might show up, too/first...
Also: I love "CRS". My family suffers from it a great deal, and I already have the beginning symptoms. -
Quote:The extra space on the enhancement management screen is because of the screen being updated to utilize high resolution/widescreen monitors. On my screen, there's room for almost THREE new enhancements. On a 4:3 aspect screen (e.g. 1024x768), there is no difference between now and before I17.This raised some suspicions for me as well. Creating the soul bound tech for a pre-order incentive doesn't seem likely. That and the spacing on enhancements that makes it appear as if a 7th could be added.
It's fun to speculate sometimes.
During I17 beta, a dev (Castle?) confirmed there's no plans for extra enhancements to be added. -
Don't copy the DVD contents, copy your installation folder from your functional laptop. This way you don't have to do any patching after you copy the files over.
Then when you've got everything from your install folder copied over, copy-paste the CohUpdater file to your desktop (actually copy it, don't make a shortcut). Run the updater on your desktop and tell it to install to wherever you put the copied installation folder. It will twiddle around a little bit, and then you'll be good to go. You can delete the updater and garbage files it placed on your desktop. Run the game from the shortcut that installing created. -

I have to second 500 Day of Summer. I saw this in the theatre and bought it the day it released on DVD. This movie hits me so damn hard every time, even though I know EXACTLY what's coming. It's a great flip on the common theme of "girl meets boy" (my boyfriend called it "a chick flick told through the guy's eyes"...and he loved it).
I'll give just a few suggestions:
- Secondhand Lions (makes me cry every single time - although to be honest, I cry at the drop of a hat )
- Stigmata (Christian spirituality without a huge emphasis on religion itself/church...one of my favorite movies, and I'm agnostic bordering on atheist...plus it has Chumbawamba doing the theme song! )
- The Jerk and/or My Blue Heaven (Steve Martin, nuff said!)
Kids' movies (I am a HUGE fan of kids movies):
- Coraline (and read the book)
- The Last Unicorn (probably my favorite animated movie of all time)
- Fantasia 2000 (several of these make me bawl my eyes out, even though there is no story other than the music/art) -
Quote:No, they're not going to add the preorder bonuses to prepurchasers' accounts. They're only available to people who preorder through Gamestop. So, you are going to add these pre-order bonuses to people who already pre-purchased, right? Since thats not infringing on anyone who would pre-order from Gamestop (since they have already boughtit) and would make it so you didn't explictly lie to to people about there not being any pre-order bonuses.
Right?
And no, they did not lie to people. They changed their minds. -
Uh... height/weight/size does not have anything to do with the legalities of letting a TWELVE YEAR OLD found a city-sanctioned supergroup that has almost as much power/autonomy as the Freedom Phalanx, and arguably as much power/autonomy as the military.
