Kegan, when you see Posi this weekend.. please tell him we'd like a raised cap on global channels. There was a thread, one I cannot find now, where other channels had to also migrate to shed the old, untrackable, inactive users.
If he asks, the rest of us are still in the bathroom. [cute lil inside joke of Kegi's last run in with the big cheese .. you all sh.. muhahaha, <finds gum>]. Thank you. -

Iron Warrior earned three times on three alts in Talos with a team of 8 in under 30 minutes.
10-22-2009 01:09:45 Congratulations! You earned the Iron Warrior badge.

I called in badge channels to specifically advise that we were looking to defeat Eochai repeatedly until Jack spawned. The team filled quickly and was nice enough to let me switch alts between each Jack.
We did not have to kill Eochai many times between each spawn - 3 before the first Jack, 1 before the second Jack. There may have been one between the second and third but I was switching alts, returned, and found my team was already on the third Jack.
There was one other team hunting him. It was around 1 am so not many folks were on. It is the Virtue server and normally we'd have far more teams hunting but not this evening. Though, the last few days have been very busy with 2-3 Peregrines, GV's, Atlas, etc.
I can only recommend assembling a team of 8, having them dedicated to scouting specific areas, and using a fair sized - open air zone such as Talos. IP is too big. Others have too many buildings to see well at a distance. Also, some badgers tell me that he doesn't spawn in Atlas or GC. Good luck to you.
---
PS. I have seen Eochai spawn next to a Banner. So, considering the time between the new Supernatural events, one could work on spawning Jack undisturbed easily. -
J, are you more into spandex or armor? Cape guy or no? Helmet head or stylish model-man hair? Any additional likes/dislikes to work with?

Soulie! Get in here and work your magic! -
Thread caught my eye from the server list. I'm not from Liberty but Valor's name carries pretty far across the game. Great guy. <salutes the heroes' quintessential Hero>

There will be a new event and badges as well as those from previous years. Recommend earning a few extra costume salvage sets and storing them for any Going Rogue characters you may be planning to create in the new starting zone - always a chance they cannot be used but doesn't hurt to try.
I'll be badging tomorrow if anyone needs a teammate. @Ara -
Wish I had kept my Rikti. Rolled a tiny critter when the zone Invasions were introduced named Chibi Rikti. Brown chitin armor and a bronze helmet. Not sure what the helmet was all about. At any rate, she ran around screaming at the start of Invasions in Atlas about how her parents were coming down to get all you dirty humans. Some long incoherent rambles about winning before falling into happy little emote dances and summoning the laptop emote to play Battleship with the locals.
Good times.

The badge requirement was reduced from 500 Illusionists to 100 and all pets except Decoys count. I have four new heroes at fifty who ran their taskforces and arcs and were still sitting at numbers under a quarter or far less on the progress bar so I usually farm for the associated accolade.
One or two (depending on AT) can do this easily in under an hour. Adjust challenge settings to spawn Masters and take a Carnie mission. If the scanner/paper doesn't provide Carnies, just exit the zone and return to refresh. Enter the mission and clear a section of all but two or three Master Illusionists. If you get an office map, even better - drag them into a small room.
Depending on what your AT's are, just hold, brawl, soft pew, etc. them to spawn pets. Make do with what you have, you don't necessarily need someone with holds. My spines scrapper and ice tank hold their attention just fine. You don't need a tank or heavy damage dealer either, two defenders can work like Tsoo scorcerers to heal one another.
Once spawned, damage every pet (Decoys don't take damage). The pets don't have to die, just take damage before despawning for credit. If you have an AOE like spines quills or ROA or really anything, all the better. Just use something that won't kill the Masters. Rinse and repeat. -
Your best bet is public channel: Virtuebadges09. There's two private channels which have many badgers but I can't recall their names offhand. Belle's Corner and AnteBellum (? not sure on exact name); try asking around for them.
As for SG's, there are none that I know of which are focused on badges. My SG choirs and global channel has a high number of 600+ but we're a hodge-podge of PvE'rs, some light RP's, two PvP'rs, and a guy in a dress. Most don't badge at all. Those who do just go all out and help each other when new issues and events launch.
.. just looked at Badge-hunter.com. We have 10 in the top 50 heroes and 6 in the top 50 villains. Way to OCD, badger Angels! -
Depends on what you enjoy out of badging.
If you're a collector more than a competitor:
- Complete all the Ouros arcs. This gives you a shiny gold star next to each story arc.
- Acquire every souvenir available. Even my main doesn't have all of these as souvenirs came later, after she'd completed her first taskforces. There's a list in Paragon Wiki.
- Unlock every costume piece available. IO recipes - 6 wings and 3 boots, holiday events are coming up with halos and winter wear, etc. If you're going to have all the badges, may as well have -the- wardrobe.
- Collect every IO set beneficial to your character. It is a collection as well, in a way. Especially those pricey Uniques.
- Collect enough prestige in your main's base to get every functional room and item available. Then go nuts decorating.
- Longshot to amuse yourself. Go play that Raise the Rep in Forum games and see how long it takes you to max out.
- Kill germs. Spray Lysol everywhere.
- Get one of every AT to 50.
- Badge those 50's as well.
- Make a collection of short stories about Lysol and 50's.
- Spray more Lysol.
- Collect more Hamidon Origin enhancements. Especially Lysomes.
It's 4 am. I just need to buck this insomnia. Thanks -
I got four level 50's. It was fun.

As of Friday, every AV we have run across is level 54 regardless of the mission holder's level and challenge settings. Some of my teams just enjoy running their arcs to wipe the mobs and have fun testing themselves on the AV last.
The rest of the map is fine as far as the mobs go. The only time we've been able to complete was when I leveled from 49 to 50 in the mission. Team had a blast. We had wiped, realized there were more mobs, leveled me and bit his ankles off after.
This has been any AV on Tina, Unai, and Maria. -
[Warning, this post is practical but finds itself optimistically littered with " 's" near the end. ]
Hart, are you referring to a decline in your social circles or the general populations?
People do come and go. We tend to be affected when it's folks we know, have known for some time. It's a game. People come and go. I spend a few extra seconds when meeting "new" people and have kept my lists active because of it.
As for general population, well yeah.. it won't be as active between events, issue releases, and DXP weekend. So the question is, how much of a decline is there from a special week/end to "average" weeks? No one has those numbers, all I know is that I don't see a ghost town. If it was, I doubt those folks would come back each event. I still see a healthy amount of people still teaming (form my own) and hopping about (global lists). Just don't expect to physically see every body nestled inside of an instanced mission map or hidden from local or global search.
So here's the nauseating Hello Kitty part of my post.
1. Make a new acquaintence or friend for every recent one who has left the game.
2. Invest in a good SG/VG or better yet.. global channel. Some global channels help you meet like-minded people (badge channels, PvP channels, various clubs) and do all the work of bringing them to your door. It's a beacon.
3. Enjoy the moment. When you're on a team or taskforce or holiday badge-fest... exchange a few kind and helpful words with the folks (new and old) you're teamed with. Compliment that really standout biography if you see one. There's been many times that the company of one other have made me think, "Wow, this game is FULL of the nicest people." because I keep meeting others.
[edit/add] 4. Use those playernotes. While it's not likely you'll get any clear picture of another player from one team experience, you can pretty much tell if you'd be inclined to "just team" with them again. Say you're on a team of 8 and 4 are good, experienced players.. maybe quickly right click to tag them with stars. If one is a standout, social and knowledgable, add a note: "Genius on builds." Over time, you'll see a new layer of the city. A constellation of "2 star - good teammate" and "3 star - good teammate with note added because they brought something special to the table" along with your "4 star friends" and "5 star SG mates on different alts". Think of it as night vision. Then, don't be afraid to turn to someone starred on the tram next to you, greet them and offer an invitation to whatever you're doing next. -
I just laughed out my breakfast. Mainly because it's Xad and he did a ****** job on debuffing Lusca yesterday.
Uh.. where was I? Oh. Thank you for calling it a "Wakie pamcake" and not a "rise and shine pamcake" because that would evoke entirely different imagery.
Yeah, I shouldn't post this early in the morning. -
[edit: ignore post below.. some lil pinkie deleted her post!! ]
Don't invoke Xad. He's like Candyman.
...
Darnit! Now I said his name the 2nd time!!! -
I will break my rules and save the 8th spot for you. Even if you're asleep for 12 hours.
But... I don't have to feed you, do I? -
Tips for LFT/LFM this DXP weekend.. or really anytime.
Listed advice on known - proven methods used to 1. find a team or, better yet, 2. assemble one quickly.
Finding a Team:
- Don't hide; don't set your options to decline invites or to hide your name from local search. Sounds simple but folks ask for the last spot on my running teams with their hide option set to decline invitations. I'll just move on to the next pm to keep things moving.
- Set your team search status and a brief message. Good team leaders do scour the /sea window (cherry picking AT) the second they lose their 8th. You could -the- troller they sweep up.
- Join a task appropriate public global channel. VU2009, Virtue TFs, and Virtuebadges09 are great channels for Task/Strike Forces. Virtue LFG Alpha is as well though I use this more for general teaming.
- Create a search message but be specific. If folks ask, "Anything going on?" in Virtue LFG ALpha every 15 minutes, I'll not be inclined to respond. There's a chance the person is not 100% flexible to every type of running team, either the wrong factionside or seeking something entirely different than my team is working on ( let's say we're running papers and the gent is seeking only a TF). I don't have time to answer every broad-sweeping inquiry and field questions when there's a team to focus on. Instead, try typing something like: "Level 35 def Lf short TF or AV arcs. Rad w/ debuffs." Copy-paste your mini-resume into /broadcast, /request, /sg channels, /public global team channels.. you'll probably get a quicker bite before you start asking in the 3rd channel. Note: factionside, level, AT, special abilities, etc.
- Be flexible. Be willing to switch an alt if it's better suited (so long as it's another alt you had level goals for as well).
- Global friends are a lifeline. If they're on, ask if you can join them. But, also, don't be a mooch. If your global friends are on a team of level 50's.. don't ask to bring a level 1. You scale up but your defense and number of powers to contribute is ****.
- Join a good SG or coalition. If you're so inclined and have been procrastinating on searching for one. I listed this last because some people don't play often enough to join (hence, DXP weekend mad runs), shun groups for their own reasons, or have their own SG only for their alts with which to create a private RP home. Hence, it's the least helpful -universal- advice. On the advocates side, most good groups have global channels.. won't hurt to invest with one character out of your 36.
Assembling a Team: (if you've looked and cannot find one running what you wish to do.. ex: Shadow Shard TF, Lusca at 2 am, PvP badge runs)
- If you're a social creature with a global friends list and a SG(s)/VG(s), use those options first to form, fill, and replace. Take care of your friends and they'll take care of you.
- Next, use Broadcast and Request before Global channels. Sure, Broadcast and Request only appear for the zone in which you are located but the people who answer will already be on the right alt, level, and factionside. They'll be less likely to ask "Save me a spot. I'm finishing this mission." or "Lemme switch to heroes." Nothing wrong with waiting... unless six people pm you with the same request to save a spot.
- Join (and use) all the above mentioned public global channels and then some. Global channels help you advertise to those in other zones. Again: Virtue LFG Alpha, Virtuebadges09, Virtue TFs, and good 'ole VU2009.
- Create a search message but be specific. "Level 35 tank assembling team for +2 level/8 man mob AV arcs. PST with AT and level." Doesn't hurt to be very specific "Levels 14-37" ( I prefer they have travel powers) or "only need debuff or damage right now." Copy-paste your message but stagger the calls. Don't paste in 10 channels and get overwhelmed with PM's.
- If you still have room, move on to /sea and cherry pick. I ***never*** use the search window *** first, before globals, *** because I can reach more people on channels. You'll be playing a game of wait and answer ten questions..
- Don't hide. People may see your calls, switching alts to join you, and forget your name. It'll come to them if they check /sea.
- Do hide! If you're running a good team of 8 for hours, no need to be pestered by every random "Hey, can I join? PLZ!!!" message out there. Focus on the people you're with and they'll stay.
- Look to fill the second someone advises they are leaving. Keep the team full and running. Every time you refill one new open spot is every time you don't have to search for seven all at once.
Either way:
- When using local or global channels to find or create a team, be courteous and follow up. "Team full. Thanks." "Got one, thanks." Others won't waste their time messaging you. -
-
Every three months.
I've asked that it be corrected for future dates each time. -
OK. Just a bug then. Since the last post, randomly checked again, it appears, disappears, reappears then disappears again on our SG list.
During the times it disappears on its own, I guess we have the base lights off to conserve energy and unplugged the progress bars by mistake. -
Arakhn. Always wanted that costume.
But on the topic line of 'Gals with too much makeup on', ran across this NPC last night. The lipstick is so badly smeared, made me wonder if her heels were a matching shade or just.. mohr lipstick.
