Quote:Assumption: ObviousOkay, so hypothetically speaking, if we ever got a Rikti EAT, I imagine that, storywise, it would be split between Restructurists and Traditionalists (bonus points if branching dialogue also lets us integrate our backstory as being native rikti or a converted human), at least that's how it would likely seem.
Obvious assumption; possibility: Incorrect Logic

As someone who's been asking for a Rikti AT for a long time, the above seemed to me to make perfect sense.
Until you actually think about the Restructurist side of things.
So, yes, Traditionalists make sense. Tidy up some of the old arcs that are no longer viable, and make it common knowledge that the Treaty is in effect.
However, why then would the Restructurists have a need to...fight Restructurists? Which is what would happen. Why would a Restructurist Rikti go and actively bomb the Mothership?
Which, in turn, led me to a theoretical third 'faction', or rather a lack of one. Rogue Rikti. Those who have broken free from the mental network, either by choice or because they were once Primal humans, and have struck out on their own, in search of...whatever, really. Vengeance, money, power, etc. Which neatly solves the conflict of interests in the Warzone. Maybe they hate the Traditionalists, but it'd also be profitable/satisftying enough to hit back at their old comrades.
Uh...why? Kheldians are a big part of CoX lore too. CoX lore wouldn't likely exist without Arachnos. Yet all they get is an incredibly bad meta-game 'story' arc tacked on, like some pennance for being that much fun to actually play.Quote:One problem though is that Rikti are a big part of the lore, so a Rikti EAT needs the consequences of their actions to be felt in the world.
My proposal is this:
When a Rikti of the Restructurists alignment completes one of their epic arcs from level 30 up, it triggers a Rikti invasion to happen in a blueside zone and a redside zone. (Bonus points if one of the zones was the one where the mission had been set in)
On the flipside, when a Rikti Traditionalist completes one of their story arcs from level 30 up, it causes all the pylons in the War zone to change to allies (they got hacked) and the shields around the mothership to go down.
Isn't that the entire point of CityOf and the Superhero MMO genre? It actually makes sense that the status quo is upheld, because the Heroes and Villains can never quite overcome the other. And again, why them? Much though I'd love to have a Rikti AT (Read: Scream like a little fantard and then proceed to roll about five) why should they get that when neither Kheldians nor Arachnos did? It makes no sense.Quote:This sort of thing, as stated, could help Rikti EAT players feel like their making an impact without causing permanent change to the environment around them. My one concern is that the Restructurists proposal has griefing potential on the flipside, farming potential, so something might need to be done about that somehow...
Anyway, that about su-

Hmm. T'be fair, the concept for mine was a little lazy. But then, Fire and Ice was too good a chance to pass up to draw Z22 Pyre Fox (Jan) and X21 Ice Wolf (Feb).

Quote:Because the Devs didn't totally change that for a reason, namely saying "It was a bloody stupid idea, so we fixed it." Nope...I would say IF you're going to start some new Archetypes, they should be sets that people open after 50... I.e. new epics.
Oh, wait. -
Dual Pistols/Super Reflexes for GREAT JUSTICE AND BULLET TIME!
Want. Now.

The Contact introduction tree is, in my opinion, a convoluted mess. It's a little better, redside, but not by much (Have to get Darla Mavis...then Psimon Omega, then Nate...If you outlevel them, too bad, yay! >_< )
I'd really rather it got sorted but, hey, I also know the record for ever revamping/fixing stuff around here... -

I want to see if Alpha can solo/duo an ITF

I might follow your lead on that one, Carni, the CC system is so bad it can't even remember my details. Ever.

Quote:Because waiting 5 days longer than you should have to while the Pack is ready is perfectly reasonable...I know there are always a few people like you who get in and get these codes pretty early in the day. But I learned years ago that it's usually far easier to wait 6-12 hours after the "initial" release before I'll even try to buy it. In every case that I waited a few hours I have NEVER had any trouble buying the item in question.
People just have to have some patience.
Oh, wait. -
Finally got through. But, seriously, this shouldn't happen. Whoever programmed the store site should be kicked for doing such a bad job and never ever bothering to fix it so that this didn't happen every damn time something released. They KNOW that there will be a rush for things, so why not PLAN for that?

It's open. And still being crap for me. Go go gadget NCSoft store still being a pile of bollocks on release day
-
So, yay. Animal Packs up.
I can't get it. Same as EVERY other damn time a pack has come out.
Despite me telling it to, it still won't remember my card information.
And it always, without fail, encounters a 'problem' with processing payment. And won't give me the pack.
EDIT: Finally went through. Still doesn't stop the fact that this has happened every damn time on every release that I can remember. -
Finally got it.
Why does the store frag up every damn release, hmm? Not the maintenance, Zwillinger explained that. I mean the-
'Sorry, your purchase cannot be processed at this time, please try again later'
-thing I get. Every damn time something new comes out! It's a joke, it really is. -
The NCsite has always been a big steaming pile of fail, and it sounds like the updater we're going to get hoisted onto us ain't going to be much better.
We shall see. -

It also seems to be true, going on the last few packs. Make of that what you will.

I find all the Phalanx TFs (bar Posi, obviously) to be dull as watching paint dry. Only with more clicking.
They really, really need a revamp. -
Oh man up, it's 3:18 pm over here. Great western pansy...

So long as you're willing to pay for a US account, sure

Meh, you jammy buggers. -
Well....you're at work. Theres your penance for being jammy right there

Quote:It does a little...especially since it always takes a damn age for the site to come back upMy only problem with it (at least until today) was that I actually want to pay for this new pack. I want to give our Devs money to show my appreciation and support for adding cool new optional things to this game.
Funny thing is that I almost had to go out of my way -not- to get one of the free codes they've been handing out since last Friday. It's cool they are willing to toss out free codes to promote the new pack, but it's been weird for me to have to wait LONGER to get it just because I want to PAY for it. Somehow that seems totally backwards to me.
