Quote:Maybe it's another dimensional Doppelganger of BAB known as the Cul de Sacker.OMG! Whatever they're looking at, it scared Back Alley Brawler white! Whatever they're looking at, it scared Sister Psyche so much the light-green panels of her costume fell out!
Love the idea of comic-book style loading screens, but I think the coloring on these is way off so far. -

6990 for the win.

When a team is on the verge of being wiped, there are things a Defender can do to prevent that which the analogous Corruptor can not.

You know, there are other honkin' big pets you coulda taken.

That reminds me, I need to respec my MM. I put an extra slot of EndRedux in each upgrade which I can now put elsewhere.

I'm going with Squirtle.

Quote:Softcap still works... mostly. But there's a reason why this cap was called 'soft' and not 'hard.'Question: Is the softcap still relevant in the endgame? Or defense at all? Before I started doing incarnate trials I was under the impression that this game had a really solid mathematical foundation but now it appears that can be overridden by "the bad guy has a really big uber lazer."

Foes with extra base ToHit, like most of the Incarnate-level Praetorians means the softcap has moved up a bit.
Plus, the extra Accuracy from +4 foes and certain powers raises the minimum final-ToHit value from 5% to 10% or higher.
The soft cap always assumed an even playing field, which is fine versus most minions. But the Incarnate field is stacked against you... which is not unfair considering all the stacked advantages players bring to the encounter.
It's Prometheus. Talk to him in Ouroboros. He sent you on these Trials and now he's narrating them for you. -
Quote:Well none of the trails leave a permanent trail, they all fade out. But as the frost is trailing behind, it continues to expand. Really neat effect.Yes, thank you ZM! That's exactly what I was looking for.
As for what you said about the Frost Aura, how do you mean? Does it actually look like the screen shot on the overview page? Basically, what I'm asking is it akin to an effect like "every time your foot touches the ground, it leaves a small expanding patch of ice" or does it look more like a continuous trail of ice left behind you?
I'll be honest, I was and still am hoping that this would/will look like a suitable "ice slide" manifestation (even if there is no slide emote to go along with it). -

Quote:I don't know if they're depressed about it. They get a thrill when players 'solve' it. Don't know if the thrill lasts when they're solving it in 10 minutes.I wonder if that depresses game designers.
So now we can farm three trials a night. K. I'd still rather farm stuff solo.
Wonder how Mr. Rubik feels?
But the Devs do count on players solving what seems like on paper extraordinarily difficult tasks and then making them seem trivial. This means when players in Beta or Live start screaming "too hard!", they pretty much ignore it until there's been multiple attempts over a period of time.
I think the +5 foes in the LRSF was the only one they purposely dialed down on given the power level of the folks at the time.
Incarnate toons can now crush a +5 LRSF if it existed. -
If your two costume slots are exactly the same costume, then it will appear that the emote goes off and nothing else.

Quote:So, here's my experience:So here's my opinion:
This trial tips the balance from:
"As long as I do my part, we can't go that far wrong"
To
"If anyone screws up even a little bit we're back to square one"
The KIR can be accomplished with whole teams wiping out, a constant train of dead people running back from the hospital, and Anti-Matter healing back up to full five times before being brought down.
This is *NOT* a one-person's-mistake-ruins-it-for-all mechanic.
Granted, while folks are new to this new iTrial, they won't be very efficient and things will be touch and go making it seem like one person's inattention ruined everything. But once the standard procedures become well know, this iTrial will be sped run just like all the others before it. -
I've successfully used "Rejoin" before today's patch, but it didn't work for me when I D/C'd trying to get into Lambda.
The window showed the Rejoin button, but it only disappeared when I clicked it leaving the default LFG window up. -
Quote:For the third Empyrean Merit per day per character so you can unlock Swoon. What I don't understand is:
"Why would I want to do it"
BAF/Lamb provide the same rewards for less investiture and less frustration. IMHO is seems to shift the effort required further into herding other players and away from just doing your job.
That is all. -
But I thought he had a genius level intellect? No wonder he gets no respect from the other Praetors if he never finished high school.

Quote:I said specifically that you weren't ranting about the Trial being too hard. But it *is* a rant about a specific mechanic being too hard... 'for others.'"This is NOT going to be a rant about the Keyes trial being supposedly impossible to complete or even too hard."
"I mean, I can see that I could carry greens for myself and spam as needed to survive, but what about all those other guys being disintegrated? Not a chance everyone or even half of them are going to pop insps, in a PUG."
Some have missed these, but you're the first to manage to miss all two while adding absolutely nothing else to the discussion on your very first reply, Zombie Man. Congratulations on not being able to read anything that isn't glowing praise of the game - I knew if anyone could make it, it would be you.
It is what it is. Preemptively saying it can't be criticized for X because it's not X, when, in fact, it is X is not a valid inoculation from criticism.
Oh, yea, that's right. Almost forgot to add in the needless personalization. Let's see, how did you do it? OK, here it is:
I should have expected from you Nihilii that you'd be overly defensive.
There, did I do it right? -
If you heal the two moderate ticks, which isn't problematic, the last one won't kill the one being disintegrated, unless they do something stupid, like stay near Anti-Matter.
A tray full of greens makes this iTrial relatively easy.
Knowing that Regen and Heal is king in the KIR (like it is in the Hami Raid), you make sure you keep up a healing bubble, fill your tray with greens, and you slot Rebirth.
Or, on day one of a new Trial/TF are we going to get the usual "Too HARD!!!" rants (I know the OP is just talking about this one mechanic, but, really, it falls under the same rubric).
In a week people will be advertising 'Speed KIRs'. -
Quote:No. In pre-Beta we were successfully completing the KIR even before we had access to Incarnate powers past Alpha. And I'm not altogether too concerned with what they "meant" to do. The end product, either by design or unintentionally, makes Rebirth almost absolutely mandatory.
Granted, Rebirth is the best Incarnate tool in the box, but it's not required. -

Forget titles. Count the number of reboots.
