Why do Microfilaments go for so much? Is there an Enzyme-type exploit? Because otherwise I just don't understand why you don't use travel IO sets.

Can we change the name of the 5th rank from "Mind Control Expert" to "AIG Managing Director"?

Quote:Don't be silly. No one admits they are wrong on the internet, although I've done it once or twice to see heads 'splode!Has anyone in the history of this forum who started off raging against market manipulation actually been convinced by the arguments of those who respond? The typical pattern I see is a rant, followed by rebuttals, followed by a reaffirmation of the initial rant, followed by increasingly snarky/condescending rebuttals. Has anyone responded with the equivalent of "Oh, I didn't really think this through and now that I know how the market operates, I see my rage was misplaced"?

Quote:Good thing you are not Positron's father. Or .. are you?Thank you Posi. That was what I was waiting for actually. Of course giving us the common courtesy of saying "I am sorry, but I was wrong" might have been better. At least, that is how I (and most parents I believe) teach my children to do it.
Being condescending to a developer is not endearing, in my opinion! -

I'd be up for that. Potlatch is 35 and I just lifted the no xp ban now that he rolled and sold all his hero merit drops.

Quote:This is false and it is simple to verify that it is false.Listing order prevails when all other factors are equal. It is a FIFO system.
Find an inactive niche of something with no outstanding bids. Buy 20 of that item.
Put up two blocks of 10 of that item at a certain price. Note that one offer goes in earlier than the other.
Go to another character and bid on 10 of that item at your asking price.
Go to the original character and see that you almost certainly made sales from both offer blocks. (Note: it is *possible* to sell all from one block, but that should be at a probability of 1 / (2 ^10) ). -
Quote:Yeah, I guess it is a little off topic, but no one has complained, and since every other thread on this forum generally falls into one of three categories:
Though seriously why is this thread on the internal workings of a particular SG on Virtue in the Market section?
A. I can't afford anything and you are evil
B. I can afford everything and I am evil
C. Buy my stuff, evil-doer!
I'm guessing the moderators gave us a pass for being interesting! -
To OP, I don't agree with you in the slightest and I don't think most people would either. But I will be fascinated to read your letter to the devs and to hear what response you get back from them.

Quote:Sorry for the slowness, but I just opened up the 1,000,000 healing badge for Auto-doc/tree of wonders. Don't hold yer breath for the 5mm or 25mm healing badges!Thank you!
once I get done, there will be directional signs on the walls
hehe... thanks.
I've some RL stuffs that is keeping my in-game time in check currently, though I 'should' have the base done* by the time the Chalet opens.

*a base is never really done IMHO, but you know what I mean

I dropped off a bill just now -- about 5 bn more until we crack the top 10...

I feel for you but that screenshot is, um, priceless.

But what about hitting the prestige cap?
Only 126bn more to burn for #1 spot!
16.5bn for #10.
I've been working too much in real life, but should have 1-2bn for the fire next Monday. -

For trollers or anyone with AoE immobilize, there are a plethora of good procs that make spamming said immobilize worthwhile. Not just the damage procs, but the purple Grav Anchor chance to hold.
I also like the lockdown chance for +2 mag hold in AoE holds. If you are in the thick of it with a couple of bosses, it may save your posterior. -
The Halloween event was fun -- I put in lowball bids for twice as much salvage as I needed for any given batch, then sold the excess at an exorbitant markup. Probably a lot more profitable than the IOs I sold...
-
Recently I've had a lot more interest in crafting since I'm rejiggering and respecing a number of sub-50 characters. The 3-5mm per log-in profit adds up over time, and I cannot complain about that. Recent salvage price spikes make things harder, but leaving buy orders when I log out always seems to work pretty well.
It's not my favorite way to make inf, but hey, the world needs ditch diggers too! -
C'mon, EVERYONE knows that the last person to respond to a thread wins.
(Wait, that means I won! For now...) -
Quote:All things considered, everyone has won so far.If that ever happened, I would feel warm and fuzzy inside, as if the 88s had already won.
The 88ers win because people are cheesed off and are spending their own inf on a totally pointless prestige war. Just like us!
The non-88ers win because this project gets a lot of us off the street causing trouble. Knowing where all the ebil market manipulators are and what they are up to has to be beneficial to them. Plus, we are all far too lazy and disorganized to actually, you know, *manipulate* a market as a group. -
I also attribute this to people working within the walls of the "Crazy 88s Project"
Wait, we have walls? -
