  1. A lot of the screenshots I take are of the backgrounds. Sometimes they get used for art projects I'm making (I give credit ) but mostly they wind up as wallpaper for my computer.

The city of Paragon, the Rogue Isles, and all the environments that our characters have the privelege of running around in... They're really, really well crafted. Kudos to the team members who created these beautiful works of art, and thank you to the devs for giving me the chance to take such great pictures.

With that, I will share some of my favorites.

I've always loved the Hollows. There is a particular moment there, standing over Cherry Hills, when the sun comes up, that is just stunning. There is peace for a moment.

Similarly, the eternal reminders of our heroic city's past stand ever watchful in the morning and evening hours. Over Talos in the morning...

    To sunset over Peregrine Island.

The evening lights up Talos in its beautiful golden glow...

While over Peregrine Island, it looks as though the Tractor Beams have caught the moon!

Even in the most dangerous portions of the city, the Moon is a calming, almost loving reminder that we all live on the same world. In Eden, perhaps that is most important to remember...

While the War Walls remain up around Dark Astoria's cemetary, some beauty can come of them.

But the natural beauty of the city is not the only thing I appreciate around here. Sometimes things have to be put into sharp contrast with the bright, happy faces we see in Atlas Park; don't forget that Outbreak has been burning for more than 3 years...

The imposing city of Oranbega cannot be denied its beauty, or its danger...

The world Outside the world, Pocket D (situated somewhere in the Shadow Shard? Who knows!) hosts many parties but also seemingly serves as an outpost on the edge of the universe...

Perhaps the enigma of the Shadow Shard will be solved some day. Who controls it? Where exactly does it rest - between reality and fantasy? ((ooc: I just really love the shard, and it provides me with so many excellent wallpaper resources... please use this as a wallpaper, eh?))

The dangerous roads and alleys of the Rogue Isles cannot be denied their part in all of this...

Heroes must not forget, there are a multitude of alternate worlds, which threaten to encroach on our own. Recluse's Victory is dangerously close to doing so...

And perhaps the most strong reminder we have, of our eternal need for vigilance, is this image of the Rikti Mothership that crashed some 4 years ago on a once thriving part of Paragon City. Before the peace was shattered...

I hope you enjoy my little tour of Paragon and the Rogue Isles.
  2. Yay he got cherub wings!!

(..... i haven't been on flying earth pig in way too long I'm sorry!)
  3. I didn't get as many as I thought I had, but then again maybe that's because it was a slideshow to begin with

And one thing to remember, the Invasion in zones *made everything darker*. Adjust that gamma on your pix before sending them in!!

    Ayup.

He's like.... flawless. If a full color one wasn't 200 bucks, I'd have gotten one. I might get another next time. yeah. He's really, really perfect.

I share, it's okay. You can touch him. hee.
  6. That's right, I'm actually back online thanks to a new modem and some outsourced help

Got a few nice things at the convention this year, namely a trio of beautiful renditions of Winter's True Spirit!

First up is a lovely head portrait from David Nakayama of COH comic fame! I waited a while in line and met some fun folks - one of whom I hope is convinced to come back for a while from his 'extended vacation in Fantasy Land', he liked what he learned about I 9 and 10... Well anyway,

    David Nakayama's Winter

Then I got one by comic/rpg painter Kim DeMulder!

And finally a lovely inked piece by comic artist Jessie Hamm!

I got a few others, but I wanted to share these because they're gorgeous

Sanger (as a young man) by Joe Phillips. Yes, he's that hawt. No one's nailed this character's image like this. I die now.

I had a good time at the con, but it's nice to be back online after a week of bad connection (to none at all for days). Anyone else score some good stuff of their COH toons?
  7. Sweet! Grats!!

Of course, it's while I'm at the comic con, AND have no internet at home.... :/ I missed it on DA. :/
  8. Hm, I actually didn't think the third was all that good. I like the first much more than 2 and 3 and 3's distant.
  9. Yup!

Now I will be making a real calendar thingie out of it, once I have all the individual pieces in their finished formats.

And yes, there will be another, probably coinciding with a normal calendar year this time...
  10. Wow talk about merging... That's ... pretty hideous!

I think they ought to work on the 'average height' thing with their soldiers first, you know? So you at least avoid seeing that one midgety guy surrounded by 3, 8 foot tall dudes... He must feel miserable.

  14. Cool thread

So people know that I win a lot of costume contests with Winter's True Spirit, right? I have always been very fond of her look.

I knew that eventually I'd want to have wings on her, and when I picked up the next costume slot I put up some pretty Angelic wings on her 'I've been around the world' outfit. I really, really love that outfit.

So when I9 came out I waited and waited and looked at Wentworth's and saw the prices and died. And continued fighting. Then one night not so long ago right before I dinged 40 with her, lo and behold I got a costume recipe drop - Cherubic Wings - and that was one of the two, cherubic or fairy, that I wanted to try for her!! I was so jazzed. So I went and made her a Downtime Winter outfit, a nice evergreen color and ... and adorable little wings!

But that wasn't all - since I then proceeded to ding 40, and get that last costume slot open (yeah I have 5 on her of course) I wracked my brain for what I'd do next. I mean, I know they can't all be winners (though for what it's worth, this Superhero Winter outfit was inspired by having a dream about the character joining the Justice League... so it can be cheesy.).

I decided, finally, upon something inspired directly from being in the game: there's a university right? And Winter's not really 'from' this place, so she needs a bit of instruction now and then on modern things. So the College Student Winter outfit was born! Whee!

Gotta use the numbers and punctuation next

I'm SO glad that this thread didn't get purged.
  16. I like two best. Even though I'm a fan of 'less skin' in general, 2 looks more fun. And by fun, I mean, 'distracting the villain to hit em easier'.
  17. Nice work!

    Happy birthday!

  19. Oh yeah.... this one's organized a little weird to me.

Or, that we have a different standard than the other thread posters, and when something changes in that standard, we SEE it more clearly.

    Don't assume too much

I don't know that you presume to speak for the rest of Protector. Doesn't make me wrong in my observation. Please kindly do not make light of how I observe this situation, as it deepens the problem.

Or the thrid option - toughen up a bit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which proves my point that some people need to watch what they say. The point isn't that some people need to toughen up. I DO NOT COME HERE TO BE TOUGH. I'm positive that numerous others are in a similar situation.

I come here to freaking get help from friends. I come here to have fun. I shouldn't have to be 'tough' to do that.
  21. Or, that we have a different standard than the other thread posters, and when something changes in that standard, we SEE it more clearly. That is what I said earlier. The flames that go on in other forum areas are much, much hotter than here. That says to me that we either: don't do it as much, or simply don't like seeing what little there is when it happens.
  22. Because we are the only ones apparently click happy enough to attract attention. We ought to be known as the sensitive side of the forums.
  23. Right but they're here none the less. And it's kinder to ask more insensitive people to tone it down, than to ask someone who's actually got medical problems or (needs to be on meds) something, to change when they aren't capable.

And again, GG - just because you are comfortable doesn't make everyone else that way. Helpful posts please.
  24. I'm still most fond of titling / requesting formalities.

I do come to this game and the forums to relax. I've got my own problems in real life and I don't like the thought that I drag them into my game play experience, OR that I inflict my bad mood on people. I've done that, and I hate that I've done that.

But I'd like to be able to come to a place where I feel comfortable, and where I can get a helping hand. Don't wanna jack the wrong thread, but also I want to feel like I'm having a better time than I am in real life.

    >_< I also doubt that we'll hash this out in a couple hours, Ex It's something that some folks won't even have seen until late at night when the rest of us are sleepy.

Kinda like the way there's an explosion of IBTL+1 every friday in General...
