Wednesday 10/11pm onwards I'll be on, as I've been all term. The problem is having someone around to judge =/
-
That would, indeed, be much better. Hami in a form other than the magnificently un-terrifying blob form would be nice, too.
-
Oi! Bad Omy! No stealing my thunder-esque! Get back in your soupcan!

But yes, it's tripe. PD is a perfectly good place to RP, have meetings, plot hooks and other stuff. Pretty much everywhere is valid for that sort of thing, and has been done, and often done well. -
It seems that I20, despite all its signed NDA-ness, doesn't fix anything either

I don't see them pulling any last minute fast balls, sadly. -
-
And the answer is?
[Ouroborous]
Sadly 'New Shinies!' seem to take precedence over actually revamping and advancing anything -_- -
This is impossible for me.
Simply put, a combination of deadlines, wierd hours and then the fact im driving across half the country Friday-Sunday means I don't see me and Long being able to have the Al-Hitmakr fight in time for this. And thus leaving the Allstars without a finalist fight either which way.
Is it please possible to extend the competition a week, to allow for RL?

Quote:Agreed 100% hereIt's more deciding what things from the storylines have happened by now.
I'd argue that the Faultline story arcs have all happened now, since the characters all pop up later on having 'evolved' in the RWZ storylines. Jim's become a hero, Fusinoette has gotten more powerful, Penny has gotten a not so secret admirer.
100% disagree here. Per the Ramiel arc, the Honoree (Hero One) got re-captured by Vanguard. But the Ritki also want their pet weapon back.Quote:I'd also argue that the RWZ events haven't happened yet because they show zero effect in game, we still have Rikti attacks quite regularly after all, despite breaking the back of the invasion through the RWZ and LGTF.
What I see happening is a sort of almost-comical-but-twice-as-deadly tug o' war going on for him, enforcing the status quo by no-one side getting the upper hand.
Which also doesn't stop him being fought in the LGTF. He's just back on the Rikti side, and hey! You get to hand him back to Vanguard.
And the Peace Treaty has also passed into canon, according to Tip missions. One Rogue one is taking up an offer from the Traditionalists to hunt down Kelly Uqua (Kelu'Qua(?)) in return for a reward. There are also a few other mentions of it in tips, namely of the Traditionalists working with Vanguard.
If you think about it, Hro'Dtohz is the kinda villain thats like a big, armoured and spiky cockroach; hard to stamp out, and able to survive on very little. While still being dangerous. As long as the Lost still exist and he can get his new recruits and conscripts, he still has a fighting force.
Other than the aforementioned tips and stuff, agreed. Romulus and Requiem are, while not in charge, still a danger in Cimerora, the Rikti are still around, and the Praetorians have just invaded.Quote:I'd argue that all the level 50 stuff is currently ongoing in universe at the moment.

Quote:You seem to also be ignoring a large proportion of people that have given calm, collected and discussed feedback and critique. And, as always, the people that do try to make a reasoned arguement are shouted down for not 'sitting down and dealing with it' or other drivel like that which gets touted out time and again.I totally agree with this. And if it were presented this way even 10% of the time, it would be terrific. But 90% of the time, it's
I hate X!
or
X is ruining the game for everyone!
or
Why did they change X? It was already perfect! Idiots!!
or
This game has never been about X. Complete waste of time to even address it. Don't bother with X, no one likes it anyway.
or
Just because (other game) does X, we should make our X more like (other game)'s X!
or
X eats kittens! It is Ebil Incarnate (no relation) and it is making my hair recede! Kill it with an axe!
or
Working on X is taking away time from the REAL problem, Y!! I like Y, and hate X! MOAR Y!
You'll notice a trend here - a lack of perspective, otherwise known as self-centered behavior. The post you showed displayed reasonable adult thinking behind a considered viewpoint. More of that would go a long way.
In a sense, a lot of posters here are like your 1) point; "Posters are ruining the forums, argh!" simply because others have a different opinion. -
Quote:I got beaten to the punch, it seems.or
6) Come to the forums and attempt to have an open and frank discussion about something that concerns you and try to determine if it is a flawed solo viewpoint, or one that is shared - perhaps even promote moving towards something everyone would appreciate and be able to enjoy.
Yes, how dare we have opinions! How dare we not sit down, shut up and take our lumps like good little munchkins!
How dare we give feedback and critiscism while still playing and paying. And still having fun, might I add. Theres always more options, there is never 'black and white'. Even in forum posts. -
Quote:This, pretty much. I kinda feel sad that States and Recluse seem to get lumbered with the most boring and bland writing in-game. Sure, the new bits are slightly better...but then again, near much anything would be.To be fair- it can be very challenging to bring depth to this kind of character that's only seen sporadically through the story. An emotionally distant character can't exactly TELL you of his inner turmoil without... well... not being emotionally distant.
Troy Hickman did a great job in the comic bringing out what he could in his few issues, and the novel also touches on this. As Statesman watches the world age around him, he's constantly at risk of losing his attachment to humanity. He sees the world transform around him to something he would barely recognize in his youth. He sees society shift and twist over time-- values that seemed so concrete in his formative years are given different priority today. He sees former friends age around him while he stays the same.
Emperor Cole has the potential to be more than just the "Bizzarro world Statesman" -- he's more of a "What if..." comic- what if Statesman did lose his tether to humanity? What if he stopped seeing himself as a participant in the thing that is mankind and instead above it? Whether he sees himself as a powerhungry controller or a custodian of the zoo makes little difference.
Would really like to step up the quality of these pieces, someday. Maybe get the Grand Moff Hickman himself in to fix it...
Grandpa, get your prune juice and go sit down in your lawnchair, dangnabit!Quote:Question: is anybody else bored with all the new players to the game who weren't around when Cryptic had their multi-year love-fest with Arachnos complaining about Paragon Studios spending less than a third of that time on Praetorians?

Aye, definitely think the biggest issue with Kheldians at present is the animation speed, or lack thereof, when it comes to shape shifting. For Warshades, Eclipse and Mire could also really do with shorter animations, or at least animation times. As it is, you can fire a power, have the next one chained for 2-2.5 seconds, fire the next one, and already be dead before it actually kicks in. The second power tends to be eclipse (using Mire to boost accuracy) which, if it only didnt take so damn long to fire, wouldn't be an issue.
But it is. And it really needs fixing. -
Quote:You're not everyone, Bill.... seriously? I blow through that so fast it's ridiculous.
Also, I find the redside arc in particular is exceedingly boss heavy. Like, every mob has two or three in there. And yes, even on scaled down to LTs, thats a problem, because by the level of that arc you're fighting Rikti. And Rikti Chief soldiers hurt, no matter what con they are. CoT Bosses aren't any nicer, especially since that level tends to contain Behemoths. -
Welp, still lacked any ideas, and RL decided I needed more crap dumped on me
sorry to dissapoint, but I got me nuttin'
Best of luck to those this month! -
Quicksilver had rolled to the side as the thing flipped itself upright, transforming and driving long enough to put some distance between him and it.
Transforming back and into a skidding crouch, he brought his gun up to bear.
"Time to play it big."
There was a subtle metallic click, followed by whirring, clanking and other mechanised noises as the thing changed from a hand-and-a-half, thick-set cannon object to a sleeker, long-barrelled rifle design.
"Chew on this!"
There was a sudden whine followed by a sharp crack like a lightning bolt, as the Autobot's transformed rail-rifle kicked against his shoulder, the projectile moving so fast that it left after-burn trails in the air between him and the giant craboid. -
Quote:No, it's honestly not. It's far more to do with the power range that Praetorian mobs have, the exotic damage types and debuffs and the sheer weight of spawns in comparison to their Primal counterparts.Again, I believe that's only because our play styles have become so second nature that when they no longer work we perceive that as "hard". CoV seemed "hard" compared to CoH when it first came out especially to those who played CoH longer.
Even things like navigation and the hazards traveling to and from mission doors seemed "harder". Shortcuts we've learned in travel, play style, attack strategies, targeting order, etc. are different enough that we can feel uncomfortable. Play is no longer "mindless", running on autopilot to complete a mission and cash out for the evening.
It's kind of like driving to work and the highway is shut down for some major accident and you now have to find a way around it, forcing you to take an unfamiliar route. It's not that it's actually harder, it's just you have to think about what you are doing a lot more.
At a level for level comparison, Praetorians have far more powers available and much more potent stats than any Primal mob of that range barring Vahzilok with their toxic damage and speed/rech debuffs. Any other Primal mob, at a design level, will be far better balanced for the level it spawns. -
I think Omy means the actual physical fort in Sharks, not the faceless base interior that Villains get to crash through.
And to be fair, we don't get to mess up the missions themselves either, beyond stuff that would likely be simple to fix (ish) -
Quote:I'm not going to drag out that dead horse but, yes, there was a damn good reason that so many people Veto'd that one CB. It wasn't one person going 'Eww, don't like!', that was a whole heap of people, even those not actively in the plot going 'Hell no, thats out of line dude.'Funny enough happened to me during the Open Season plot line.

Blueside has a marginally better difficulty curve, but is poorly written/implemented.
Redside has better writing and implementation, but suffers occasionally from over-EBness and stuff.
Mostly, difficulty wise, they even out. Although PPD Swat are evil incarnate.
And then theres Praetoria. Which is the best written of them all...and which punishes all without mercy and distinction.
Difficulty level; Praetoria > Red/Blue -
I think I can agree with Fans on that one.
-
I think PB fly also suffers from more 'drift' than regular flight does...not sure if thats due to flight changes or level or what... Hmm.
-
Only if it's not limited to the damn Apple and androids and crap. I want one on my desktop

If its even possible, of course. -

It was my thread you likely remember
The problem with scalers is that they mess up so easily. I can browse through my saved costumes, come back to the CC, and somehow, despite clicking back, the scales have altered.
The most common scenario is height alteration, wanting to make costumes across one character match in scale. Doing that at present is a long winded and often awkward process that simply shouldnt exist. -
Aye. Morden, for example, is blindly loyal to Cole. Mostly because of a certain powerful psyker flicking all the levers and gears inside the poor sods head.
But thats a whole other plot
