My only gripe against the badge collector arguement (which has kind of died out over the last page) is that the current system is already borked for newer people to become badge collectors.
Thanks to my not starting on day one, and that I had to take a break for college, I'll never be able to "catch up" on vet reward badges*. Because of that I've been turned off from badge collecting entirely.
The nice thing about these badges is that they are actually obtainable after a period of time. Sure, a long period of time, but they can be achieved while working on the other long term badges (while you're sleeping, etc).
*Note: if in the chance that one day I do catch up in Vet Badges thanks to no more coming out, then I'd be worried about the game still being available more than collecting badges. -

30 mins for a non-pug Katie... Sorry, not very impressive. I run PUG Katies all the time with my FF/Elec Defender, and most days we turn in a 25 min time. Of course, you do have your 35 min screw-ups from time to time but under 30 is pretty standard. Actually I like to think it takes us longer to get the people lined-up for the TF, then the TF itself.
The fastest I was on, was with seven trollers... maybe 18 mins. But those guys were friends with my SG leader, so all vets.
You know... I rather have a guide to how to recruit for a Katie PUG. Because over the months, I've seen that being the bigger problem on slow times.

Granted, the extra time you take to get a correct configuration could mean more (or less) the 5-10 minutes extra you save one the actual TF. -

In a leveling pact, when you start it you're forced to have exactly the same XP as whoever you're in the pact with. So you'll both ding 50 at *exactly* the same time.

I'm sure there will be checks and balances to prevent mature rated content as well as farming.
Needless to say, I would love to make an epic room of death where the groups must face an endless* horde of opposition.
*endless as in A LOT of guys, not ambushes, since I'm sure that'll be restricted as well. -

My hats off to the devs. They brought me back in I9 after taking a break in I5. You've got my yearly subscriptions going and reinvented my love for this game.

In response to this article I must say that my Katana/Regen Scrapper has been by far my easiest character to play. He's currently at 37 and has died 3 times in his entire career. He's been soloing on invincible since 16 and does plenty fine on teams. Today I beat 3 lvl 50s in 1 v 1 PvP. I serve as tanker in my SG when we do TFs. Plenty of times I solo full mobs while my SG mates sit back and watch. I don't have any big "damage hole" that other sets have because I don't need them, Reconstruction makes it fine. A heal up every 30 seconds that heals for half health? Thats second only to Healing Flames. Dull Pain is the exact same in Regen as in Invuln and WP's +HP passive is weaker value wise, so I'm not sure where that came from.
My biggest complaint with this entire rant is what you said about Quick Recovery though. Past level 6 I never had to rest. I got bored at times waiting on teams, so I would go ahead and solo a mob. Fast Healing and Reconstruction ensured my green bar was up and because of Quick Recovery I never had my blue bar drop below 95.
To sum this up, you are either severely confused about the set or merely dislike it because it plays differently than other secondaries. Does Fiery Aura play like other Tanker sets? Is it just as, if not more, effective? Regen is the same thing. Hopefully you'll be able to recognize that at some point. Maybe you even were being sarcastic >.>
