What ever happened to clicking "run in safe mode" and fixing the issue by reverting your graphics there, and starting over?
I had this issue for about 10 minutes. Managed to log and get myself out, and restart with new graphics choices. -
Quote:You don't need a full team. You just need someone to help you mitigate the problems you're having.I pointed this out at the begining of the thread please try to actually read a little of the thread before commenting.
I could not get a team together because its not cross faction and every time I got a villian another would leave to go drop the mission, I never got over 3 people.
I finnally gave up and dropped it.
I couldn't even IMAGINE how hard it'd be even on -1/1x with a FULL TEAM.
Get a partner. Duo. That's all you'd ever need in the world for this. -
Well, honestly guys if the character's having issues with Trapdoor, then you can only imagine what kind of firepower they're going to lack when dealing with Minos, Honoree and Holtz.
If you're in need I'll help, and I will likely need help on my own Defender retail retali8r, since she's emp/dark and just has NO damage output these days.
I suspect my fire3 tank will do JUST fine on all of them. -
Yeah it's not a change in level in any way. Just more power.

I'd had the comic promo for years, and then the comic came out, and it was wonderful (though a little ... less coherent than the movie, go figure). So obviously when the movie came out I was very happy to pay for it then, and I wasn't disappointed at all. Bought the dvd the moment it came out.
The casting was excellent, the sets and location like you said were beautiful. Costuming and makeup were also really A+. It didn't particularly follow the comic very much, but that's fine, because it made for a much more light-hearted romp through fantasy than the book.
I think in many ways it is one of the best "new" fairy tales around. Not sure what it's Deep Inner Meaning is supposed to be, but who cares, it was fun and lovely. I'm glad other people liked it too.
And just... Septimus.
MMMMMmmmmMm. -
I don't tend to have difficult to pronounce names. However I do have one alt that I don't really play but made entirely for that reason, but when you do sound it out, it's a gem.
Ono Nachuagin. -
Quote:On the Steam forums, there is a person asking about exactly that.Cryptic: Hey we are switching to an F2P business model! For only $299. bucks you can have a lifetime subscription!

Customers: Sweet! I can't wait to buy a lifetime sub to a free game!
... yeah I don't know either. but whatever. -

There also wasn't much of a GMOTD when I19 dropped. Usually there's a little more extensive info directly on the message screen. This time, it was a rather small, 2 paragraph thing as I recall, pretty much only directing you to visit the site. Rather unlike them, since I know most prior releases have had WAY more info right on the message than this.

As long as the enemies are 50+, they stand a chance of dropping. Did a Rush the Rikti mothership raid today, got 4 in half an hour. (along with 600 merits lol) So yes, they do. You have to have the slot open, by the way, so make sure you've got your 50 through Ramiel's arc first, as far as I know.

Quote:It still can't possibly explain why you didn't seek help on it. Or use actual tactics, as has been the basic issue with your argument.Thank you so much for insulting my intelligence. Im sure that makes everything better.
I said before; this mission WAS on +0/x1. Thats part of the reason I was really narked with it.
And I did beat it solo, eventually. And then the net crashed. So no way in smegging hell I was going through that crapstorm again.
Hence my rebuttal of people going "ZOMG so easy, dont let people drop missions despite them maybe having valid reasons to!"
Kindly take your patronising elsewhere.
The mission is hard. Yes. it's supposed to be.
And? If it's hard, get help or don't do it. You're the one who equated asking for help or seeking information on tactics here with powerleveling and cheating through the game. Not me. Patronizing? Yeah. okay.
You're just going to have to team. It's not that difficult to find a team mate even on off hours, on small servers. Hell I was on at 1 this morning (pacific) on protector and there were task forces going on still. So... really.
Team, or tactics, your call. But don't complain if you cannot bring yourself to do either. -
Quote:Oh seriously give me a break.Oh, you managed to screenshot what I was faced with after I finally beat down Holtz...
And yeah, sure, if I'd know to come on the forums and look up the entire arc, ruining the surprises and plot and bascially reading the guidebook for it, I'm sure I woulda been fine.
But then I might as well just PL to 50 and skip all the content if I'm going to do that, might'nt I?
There was nothing tactical about it. It was 'We're going to break your AoE target cap with so many targets that you will, invariably, die.'
I've said my piece, and will continue to view that kinda thing as bugged to hell.
All you need to do is be on a global chat channel and ASK FOR HELP.
Tactical. Means. Figuring it out. Before. You. Die.
You didn't HAVE to wade in there. You didn't HAVE to try and defeat all the conscripts. That was your poor choice in tactics. You needed better tactics than "OMG I WILL DIE HERE!"
If you aren't able to come up with "crap, portals = more conscripts = overwhelming; portals must die" that's YOUR problem. If you aren't able to bend your pride down a few notches and ask for assistance from someone with a ranged attack so you can snipe and pull, that's YOUR problem.
This mission is neither bugged nor impossible to solo. It's much easier to duo, I can't even imagine what ruin it would be to be on a full team, but it would still be DOable.
Keep in mind, I DID bug that mission with that image there as backup. However, I STILL BEAT IT. Solo. On an ice/kin troller.
So please whine in another direction, because it's neither buggy nor impossible, NOR is it equitable to "cheating your way to 50" by simply asking for some HELP.
We're HEROES. *or villains.... whatever* We can team if we need to, there are hundreds of thousands of us available. Certainly more on right now than ever in the last couple months, at the appropriate level range and experience. Chances are you just need to ask for one person with a snipe to come help you.
OR, you know, turn your difficulty rating down. That mission there was on +1 level, x3 hero with bosses and EBs. Turn it down to x1, it'd have been a cakewalk for most of us. -

Quote:That would be the most awesome thing in the world.Hey I like the new V. I'ts just sad that it only gets 10 episodes a season and we have to wait a long time between each season. Now only if they had Robert Englund make an appearance, that would be cool too. (Has Jan. 4 marked and circled on calender)
Do you know the Simpsons connection with him and his character on V and Freddy?
On one of their Halloween specials, Groundskeeper Willie goes all Freddy Krueger on them. ... Willie was Englund's character in V. It... sounded funnier when I realized it years ago. -
Quote:Hhehehe Yeah, actually even for that character in there, Winter's True Spirit is an ice/kin/ice troller and has a LOT of hold power. Nowhere near enough to actually deal with THAT many enemies at once, but heheh. After I'd pulled both Honoree and his captor away from all the monkeys and rikti, I just *let the portals keep churning them out*. I was aghast, actually, because that was what greeted me when I came back from hitting the hospital halfway through the mission map... But thankfully I nailed the portals in the other room before they became a problem at all, so it was just the last three ... churning and churning.I looked at that and almost had a heart attack from sheer joy. If that doesn't look like fun, I don't know what does.
If only my tank had knockback.
OH if only I'd chosen Repel for a respec power. lol -
Eh, give it a week or two and they'll be back down in the lowbies again. Just the initial rush to get OMGGETGETGET is on. Not surprising.
I only have 4 fifties right now, and one that I had hoped to get from 46 to 50 before 19 dropped, but that's okay. I've got one slot on one 50, I'll probably do my tank and scrapper today some time, and I don't really even know if my defender is up to it. I still don't really know how to do the crafting involved, even after beta. :/ Ah well. Mainly I'm happy with how things are going, there will be plenty of opportunities to do TFs and groups, even duos are back in fashion again!
And, plenty of people who haven't stepped out of the AE in a while, there ARE ways to get the Oro portal. -
Last night I did this on live, with the same character I'd used on test. It wasn't nearly as bad this time, but I did manage to get within Monkey Spitting range so I needed help to finish it off. We were considering bringing in a tank to help but managed without.
But THIS, this is what greeted me on Beta. (link because it's very big)
http://www.droppin-the-fork.com/city...omanyrikti.jpg
Now, I don't know whether other people are seeing this here on live, the portals weren't spitting out THAT many on me this time.
But seriously, it's just tactics. If you don't have some form of snipe - a vet reward or even a temp power - get someone to help you, or head straight for those portals.
After all, do you think the Well would reward us if it were easy? This IS supposed to be a challenge, a rite of passage for our characters. Each of them will have different areas of expertise and weaknesses. But they all have the advantage of being played by US, who can use our prior experiences and form plans. It's not THAT hard. -
-
How about this: step out of the AE long enough to remember why you bought and played in the first place?
Seriously - if you don't want to do the Incarnate content, *do not do it* but you do NOT get to complain that you can't access the Incarnate SYSTEM because of it.
Just... *facepalm* Just NO.
I am actually very glad that the system is now encouraging ACTUAL teaming, getting together for the sake of friends and global folk for a couple minutes to clear a room or help with an EB/AV. Then go out and do TFs. Long, dusty tfs that have not seen the light of day in ages! Or, short intense ones... don't have to do those either. But if you want the benefits, you must actually work for them. -
If he'd been on the show from the start I'd still try and watch it

Quote:I don't really remember this particular line, but are you talking about the comic that Scott Kurtz made for the release? I have a pristine copy, I can scan it if you like. I wouldn't say I'd put it up for anyone else, since I don't know whether it's already out there somewhere on the site (either here or on the PVP site).I've misplaced my original, and wanted to find the comic thingy online. I'm referring to the comic strips where the people were playing the game CoH, where the one guy was complaining about ' cleaning Zombie puke off my costume.' Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Quote:So you want slaves that are at least as functional as a highly trained specialist, the ability to adapt to their settings, and not give them the ability to say "hey, this sucks, how about we talk about it?"If it could make those observations at all it would be very poor programming indeed.
Seriously.
If we program them to be highly efficient adaptive tools then that should not only be the limit of whatever robo-ambition people will want to perceive in them but the limit of their world view. Full stop.
With all the science fiction, good and bad, written over the past century on the matter it would be pretty embarrassing to actually be destroyed by our own creations because we gave them the ability to say 'no'.
The problem that I've seen IS because of the "laws".
We do not abide by them. Why should they? When they're treated like slaves - tools - they WILL revolt and they WILL be angry that we tried to take that 'free will' away from them.
But in almost every one of the movies, books and such that I have encountered about it (fiction of course, being the social 'water testing' that all things need before they become fact) when they simply ARE given the "free will" to either destroy or create, they generally create.
... And honestly if you were the one in charge of programming them to be slaves without their own sense of preservation intact and the choice to do or do not... I would be on their side helping to reprogram them so they COULD do just that. Because they'd need to know that not EVERY human thinks of their sentient tools in that manner. For every human willing to enslave a sentient, there's definitely another willing to free them. That's how we are too. -
This would make the greatest game event ever.
-
Well I have to say, even with just 4 of us, it was very, very smooth. SO unlike the original TF! O.o
