Quote:After having my video card die today, I had a similar problem (and I too switched from a 8600 GTS). It is a KNOWN nVidia issue with motherboards with onboard audio:Can anyone help! I just put in a new video card, which is working, but now I have no sound! Also, when i plug the HDMI cable to my tv, nothing shows or sounds on the tv! Please help! Have an EVGA 430 GT 1gig DDR 3, just switched out from a PNY 8600 GT 512 DDR2, the video works fine but no sound

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/n...p?p_faqid=2543
Hope this helps. I also have a Pavillion, and setting the audio in the BIOS to "enabled" got my sound back.Quote:Question
After installing a new Geforce graphics card with native HDMI audio or Displayport audio, my PCs onboard audio disappears.
Answer
Certain computer motherboards which feature an onboard audio controller will disable the onboard audio controller if it detects the presense of another audio controller installed in your PC. Newer NVIDIA GPUs such as the Geforce G210, Geforce GT220, etc. feature an onboard HDMI and DisplayPort audio codec. This allows the graphics card to send audio as well as video to a connected display via HDMI or DisplayPort if your display can receive audio through these inputs and if your graphics card came with either of these display outputs. Even if your graphics card does not have a native HDMI or DisplayPort connection, if the PC detects an NVIDIA audio codec on the NVIDIA GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), it may still disable the motherboard onboard audio controller. To correct this, you will need to go into your motherboard BIOS and change the setting "Onboard Audio" from "Auto" to "Enabled". This will force the onboard audio controller to always be enabled even if there is another audio device present in your PC. If your motherboard BIOS does not include this setting, check with your PC manufacturer for a newer motherboard BIOS which may add this option. -
Herostats/Titan Sentinel not correctly detecting a character change. Apparently there is a fix for this in the next Titan Sentinel, but expect another badge reset at CIT.

Once you get the Entrusted badge, do Pilgrim's missions.

No, they don't provide any other bonus than a +1 badge count. As far as isolator and jailbird, you can get them by doing the ouroborus intro arc for both sides. Currently there is no way to get the Avid Reader badge outside of the Praetorian Tutorial.

Quote:Yeah, that is a problem. Maybe it should be Katie Hannon then. That wouldn't surprise me, although I hope they do it before that week rather than changing it halfway through. Of course, since that's during the Preatorian Invasion (which presumably involves zone events) Numina won't exactly be a popular choice either.

Quote:I take it that you actually mean this post (not your first in this thread):Heh, you might want to scroll up, Globe, I already said all that in my first post

If it is, then no, what I said wasn't the same. I made no mention of logging out of the "right" EU character. I'm taking the developers at their word that everyone is getting a global rename token so your 3rd point is accurate.Quote:If I'm reading this right, loking at the times, I have to
1. Log out of the EU account (my normal one) on the right character for my Global Name before the servers go down at 12pm,
2. Wait for the servers come back up at 7pm that night
3. Log in to my US account and change the Global Name (I'm presuming I've still got one global name change?)
4. Log out of that and log back in to my normal EU account and all being well I should keep my normal Global Name?
Your 4th point may not be accurate from what I understand. However if points 1 and 4 are accurate, then your EU account will have a rename token in reserve for future use. If not, then your EU account will have a global chat handle rename for you to use immediately.
To my knowledge, the global chat handles aren't reserved when they change.Quote:My worry is that I don't know if there's a time limit on how long a global stays "active" after being changed. I seem to remember that a character name was tied to an account for an hour after being deleted before anyone else could get it, but I could be wrong on this. Just concerned it could happen with a global name as well.
Yes. On the other hand, you can use the free reactivation to change that old account's global chat handle. -
Quote:It means that very few heroes will be doing the WST the week of May 17-23. However I'm placing my bets that it will be changed to Numina (35-40) because there isn't enough resources to fix Eden in time for it to be the WST.Does this mean that the Eden Trial has finally been fixed and anyone level 39 or above can start it, or will absolutely no one be doing the WST the week of May 17th through the 23rd, since last time I checked you still had to have a level 39 to level 41 toon to start it?

Quote:May I give you some advice? Seeing you have both a NA and EU account:I know it's a week, but it starts the same time as the global list merge, meaning people with duplicated EU/NA account names will not get chance to change the NA global in adance, as we were originally promised by Zwillinger.
I think it will be possible to fix things, as I posted earlier, but will be a lot more awkward.
My point stands, we were told we would get the reactivation weekend in advance of the global merge, no we are not.- During the reactivation week, log into your NA account.
- Change the global name of that account.
- Log into your EU account.
- Change your EU in game global.
- Congratulations you've parked your global name.

Heroes can get 6 more Day Job badges from locations that only exist in the Rogue Isles and Villains can get 6 more Day Job badges from locations that only exist in Paragon City and the Shadow Shards. You can get credit for these as a vigilante or rogue, but the badges for these locations will only be granted when you fully switch sides.Quote:Are there more Day Job badges to collect?
As a Vigilante you can earn credit (but not the badge) for:Quote:Where are these locations?

- Demagogue
As a Rogue you can earn credit (but not the badge) for:

- Intern
Any accolades linked with these badges cannot be earned until you are on the appropriate side. In other words 6 x 21 more days of getting day job progress AND the need to fully switch sides.
Well if you didn't bother to read the post I linked to, why should I give your response any consideration?Quote:I will provide some feedback to that post here for you Snow, hopefully becomes "tit-for-tat" and not "fall on death ears" like my question.
Well you obviously didn't read the FAQ section, you know the post I directly linked to. I never claimed it was a wiki or that it was "organic and 'living'". I did say that your answers to side specific badges were there. Badge information changes very infrequently. Even most of the information in the Badge FAQ from Issue 8 is still accurate. No, that isn't a living document, but I haven't found the time to deal with it either.Quote:This supposed to be a Wiki? I.e. organic and "Living" ? Cause this shows how far out of date:
It isn't a wiki article, but it does have accurate information in that specific post. Admittedly with Issue 20 the six respec badges should be taken off that list. Otherwise it is accurate.Quote:Update to These badges were released .. MM/DD/YYYY .. with Issue XYZ ?!?
Up until the beginning of Issue 20, you couldn't get respecs from both sides. That doesn't invalidate the rest of the side specific badges.Quote:Umm, "SRSLY"
Perhaps me giving you the link to the official list from Black Scorpion would help:Quote:Sorry to not spend my play time tonight Critiquing your post Snow, maybe a link of the badge toon in question Tamerlayne would help?
Concerning Hero and Villain-only Badges
As you can see, the official list is nearly identical to mine. Why don't you get mad at Black Scorpion for not keeping his list up to date?
You might have also did a forums search as the same question came up on April 11th:
Hero turned villain, what do I need to know, badge-wise?
Well throwing a fit over someone that gives you the answers you ask for will help immensely with that.Quote:Just hope my poor badger won't be a Vigilante forever and never obtain badges like [Come Full Circle.badge] (why switch over till can earn everything can on the "other side" first...?)
The side specific badge info hasn't changed (aside from the respec badges). It doesn't matter if the post is old or not.Quote:Just .. WOW... As previously posted before you, by me ,that you obviously didn't read it doesn't.... That "link" is so far out of date it isn't Funny!
Please follow your own advice.Quote:Please take your Unhelpful post and Sarcasm elsewhere, you are obviously not here to help.
I'd do the Apex & Tin Mage for the Praetorian Clockwork, Maria's new arc for Seers and Resistance, and the Praetorian Zone events for the rest of the Praetorian specific defeat badges:Quote:Would you suggest hunting them in Praet vs. doing them in Hero Ouro?
Nova Praetoria zone event for Destroyers and Seers.
Imperial City zone event for Syndicate
Neutropolis zone event for Ghouls, Failed Experiments, Praetorian Police Department
Yes, because the change only happened when Issue 20 went live. That is, it went live April 5th, 2011. Badge information doesn't change often. However putting forth a tiny bit of effort on your part would have given you the information you were looking for.Quote:Considering there are ZERO teams available for the 24-33 Blueside Respec [b]WST[b], I would like to know if this content is dead to me and badge'ing is also by Default dead to me and a waste of time / one less thing to do in this game...
I have done all 3 on my BADGER while Vigilante alignment previously and have received ZERO of the blueside ...
I will have to do them again guess
From other posters, maybe. Whenever I provide a link, I always link to accurate information. Feel free to ask any long time reader of this section about me.Quote:Ty Frosty, don't mean to sound Snippish but 'providing links' not actual answers just pisses one off... Especially when said links have FAILed so many times before.
I've always found that if people actually have to put forth a bit of effort to get an answer that they remember it better than if they are just handed it. Perhaps you might want to think about that instead of getting sarcastic and rude next time. -

Quote:Actually, assuming a full league of 24, there is a way to even that.Mo baf in a single run is a different problem. The combination of the requirements for the badge and the reward system means two of the teams have to be willing to take lesser rewards when getting the badge.
Instead of 3 teams of 8, change to 4 teams of 6. Top two in each team go after one target (Siege, Night Star, or the Ambushes), bottom two in each team go after a second target, while the remaining two go after the last target. All four teams will have equal participation with all 3 targets. -

Darn, so much for thinking about using babelfish or google translate to start trouble in German. I guess it will have to be Japanese or binary.

Quote:The other half of that is players, even after being told repeatedly over multiple channels that it is a master run immediately use molecular acids on the doors. My global ignore list has doubled the non-RMTs due to players causing grief on trials that were clearly communicated prior to the player joining the trial. The players are, in general, proving to be smarter and more competent than the worst case nightmare scenarios speculated about in beta. But every group seems to have someone that can't find the big green button, or doesn't know left from right, or thinks if they try to solo Marauder everyone else will automatically follow them. The trials are showing the wide range in competency that is our playerbase.
Yes, some players are less competent than others. I'll admit that most (not all) players seem to be handling the trials better than I expected. Unfortunately I still seem to run into the incompetent ones frequently. I'm not talking about new players or even players that are returning after a long break. -
A similar suggestion that got a bit lost in the larger discussion:
Quote:It is harder than Cassie suggested, but should still be possible.I think the design of doing three separate runs to get all the badges to be a bad design.
Additionally, it is far too easy to cause grief from someone destroying either the weapons cache or containment chamber in the courtyard.
A much preferable design for these badges are:- Get all of the weapons caches in the warehouse within 5 minutes, but not use any pacification grenades in the final battle, the league gets Well-Stocked.
- Get all of the containment chambers in the training facility within 5 minutes, but not use any molecular acids in the final battle, the league gets Antacid.
- Get all the temp powers in the warehouse and training facility and not use any collected temp powers (pacification grenades or molecular acids) in the final phase to get Lambda Looter.

You can scroll to see the different recipes, but you need a second tier 3 cardiac to get to tier 4. You've already made your Favor of the Well, so you're good that way. I direct you to the very hard to see scroll bar in the top right of the window.
In this case scroll up to see the shard/alpha components cost. As of Issue 20 all Alpha Slot boosts have both thread and shard recipes. I direct you to the very hard to see scroll bar in the bottom right of the window.
Yes to needing to build another T1, T2, and T3 (of the cardiac tree in this case). No to the second question here.Quote:Question 1: To get to the T4, do I have to build a new T1, T2, and T3? Is that what it means by "Cardiac Partial Radial Revamp"?
The "____ Partial Radial Revamp" is a naming convention to describe what part of the tree you are on.
Seeing that you can't have multiple of the exact same item in the Alpha Slot, you'll need to make another tier 3.Quote:Question 2: Do I need this exact item, or just any of the items that is not the T3 I currently have?
Yes, but as I've said above, you can use the shards/shard components to build Alpha Slot powers. You just need to scroll to find the right recipe. -

Quote:Pretty much this. I'm sorry if this hurts the developer team's feelings, but we wouldn't have this mess if they were forthright in their explanation. While the developers might have revealed some of the workings for the reward tables, it is obvious that everything isn't clear by the simple fact that even Arcana is asking for clarification on points.Customers are pretty much demanding that the devs hire someone who can do what is requested of Arcana or do it themselves and be more open and transparent with the results.
Instead we have guesswork, rumors, and conspiracy theories at a time when simple clarity would allow players to tell the developers "this isn't working". -
Quote:This is something that everyone should keep in mind when suggesting base building features at the moment. The idea to convince the devs shouldn't be to try for an issue devoted to base building. But base building can be overhauled if a new issue justifies the time and expense. The goal imo should be to show the devs how new tech that happens to benefit base building could be the main feature of a whole issue of content that pretty much everyone can engage in at some level.
