Heh. Remember how comedy shows used to parody West Wing by having the entire sketch happening while walking down hallways?
I can imagine a Doctor Who parody where every line is a cut to an actor running down a hallway and rounding a corner while breathless shouting their line. -

Quote:Nooo, but you need that language to shut up the folks who say, "How was I supposed to know you couldn't do that?"Violating an NDA is a breach of contract. Same for showing disassembled game files; it's also against the DMCA. Stalking and harassing are illegal in and of themselves.
We don't need language in the EULA that would allow someone at NC to kick you because they don't like your political opinions. -
Quote:There are plenty of folk who say bad things about the game in these very forums and they don't get banned.I think Westley & co. are worried that the devs will be spying on Unleashed (which they probably already do) and ban their accounts if they dare say anything bad about the game, which would be a legitimately awful thing to do but it's a pretty silly thing to assume.
Sooooo... where the heck are you getting this from? -

The non-shouty version:
Quote:Translation: No botting.NCsoft has the right, but no obligation, to monitor operation of any service, content or software at any time and in any matter, including but not limited to monitoring communications and communications interfaces, storage devices, random access memory or CPU processes related to hardware you use with the game. Such monitoring may also include, but is not limited to, monitoring for the purposes of detecting software under section 8(c) or 8(e).
You consent to the foregoing monitoring and acknowledge that NCsoft may, at any time, and in any manner, communicate any information between hardware you use with the game and any mechanism NCsoft may choose for such communications. You also acknowledge that as a result of such monitoring NCsoft may in its sole and absolute discretion take any action, or no action whatsoever, including but not limited to:(i) changing any portion of the service, content or software;
(ii) seeking recourse against you by way of any proceeding NCsoft deems appropriate under the circumstances; and/or
(iii) determining that you are not in compliance with all provisions of this agreement and terminating your account under section 3(b) or section 3(c). NCsoft has the right, but no obligation, to provide you with notice before such termination. -
If you set up some other web site or forum to leak NDA information, or to show disassembled piggs, or to stalk or harass some player, then, yeah, you should be banned.
If you think Paragon Studios has the time or inclination to monitor other web sites or boards for minor infractions, then that's rather delusional thinking since they barely keep up monitoring the official forums. But when egregious violations come to their attention, they want to be able to point to the EULA and say, "See, we told you this could happen." -
True dat. And knowing our Devs, I'm sure if the Mac users missed out on that through no fault of their own, they'd extend the sale until Mac users could access it.
-
Quote:True. There are some niceties there and it will be frustrating for Mac users if they have to wait for it.There's more to the store than just boosters and a couple power sets. From what I can read and what I know is in the store it's enough for me to want to use the store on day 1. I already have all the boosters and such but we pay for this so we shouldn't be left out.
However, I was arguing against the proposition that the temporary lack of access to the Store (if it happens) is a vital blow to experiencing FREEDOM (or Issue 21). It would be, at most, IMO, a minor inconvenience. It certainly wouldn't leave Mac users at a significant disadvantage compared to PC users.
If it were me, I'd be mourning the inaccessibility of the Rocket Board for newly created alts. But, it wouldn't be that big of a deal since Jet Packs are still available from Level 1 thanks to a grant from a sugar daddy alt. -
The 'why' is easy:
They want players to access the costume creator as often as possible and playing with one of the most celebrated character creators in gaming and making as many unlock costume piece purchases as possible. -
Quote:Rewind. Mute. Read closed captioning. But what Rodoan said applied to me...hard to hear what The Doctor is saying sometimes.

And it's not just the accent or the mumbling... it's the darned background music being too loud. And way too many shows are doing that. -
Quote:No.Subscribers may start out ahead. However a subscriber that stops subscribing ends up substantially behind someone that never subscribed but has been spending the same amount of money a la carte, an 'absolute' fact that you blithely ignore.
You are ignoring all those months that the subscriber had playing the game. That has value. The value of $15/month. Calculate that into the equation. You can't pretend that history does not exist and pretend both are starting from scratch. Only one is starting from scratch. -
Quote:If you're a VIP, there really isn't that much extra the Store will have to buy from that you couldn't have bought already more cheaply from previous boosters. So, I don't know what you mean by saying the Store is the whole point of Freedom. With that said, I am unhappy to hear that it will be launching with this many bugs, more so considering (as was said) it will most likely take weeks before we see a fix. I hate to be all "our problems are priority 1," but not being able to securely access the Store (essentially, the whole point of Freedom) is most annoying.
Yes, you might miss out for a while on the 1 new powerset, but perhaps the new powerset proliferations and Time Manipulation would be a small consolation until then.
And all of Issue 21 is available to you. For a VIP, there is no gated new content.
If you're not a VIP, you can't even get on during the VIP Head Start period, making the lack of Store a non-issue. -
From what I've gathered it's barely working and flaky, but that's still a form of working. They're working feverishly on it, but the GUI for the store was just recently revamped from the previous horrid mess it was, so, getting Macs to interface with it is now very last minute rush and one of the first things they'll work on after launch.

Quote:Yes, it does matter when you say wrong things like VIPs are getting it worse when that's demonstrably untrue. It doesn't matter if you get the equivalent amount of content compared to the old way of doing things, you're still paying beyond the subscription when the subscription should include everything except the temporary items, as long as you continue to subscribe, or it becomes worth less and less and less until unsubscribing is the obvious best choice.
VIPs are getting more than before at no extra cost. FACT
Beyond that, there's even more content that a VIP can buy. FACT
Making VIPs pay for anything extra is somehow shafting VIPs even though they're already getting more than ever. OPINION
I disagree with your opinion.
You may not disagree with facts. -
It was an... odd... decision.
Especially since they could have sold or made a reward out of a /tailor command. -

I liked the character interaction and kick-but older Amy. The episode should have been called "Rory's Choice."
Though, we had more slow moving faceless/masked foes that kill on touch. Didn't we just have that last episode... again? -
I think "My 6 year old daughter, the Asssassin" is more adorable.

Quote:Change the Vertical Sync setting. If that doesn't do the trick, check the Vertical Sync settings for the graphic card's settings program.I just reinstalled and resubbed and downloaded the new NCSoft launcher.
When I launch COH I get this crazy line going up and down my screen (horizontally) it looks like one of those crazy lines on your tv that are horizontal.
I have a great graphics card : Geforce 9800 GT
any help appreciated... -
Quote:That was happening to me this morning, and I was getting thick red bars from /netgraph 1 in the game.Fourth problem: The forums. I often get a "server not found" message when trying to access them, and today they are loading like molasses.
It suddenly reverted to normal for me about half an hour ago. -
Check what it's actually doing to your speed in the Combat Attributes.
Click on Powers at the top of your Power Tray, then at the top of the Powerlist Window, click on Combat Attributes and then open the Movement tab to see what your actual movement figures are, then use AM and see the results.
EDIT: The tool tip for AM from the icon under the Health Bar is wrong. The numbers for movement in those buff info windows are generally wrong when it comes to speed. See here. -
Quote:You are adding wrong because I'm talking 'in years' (we never had 3 Boosters come out in a month). I'm saying you get about 3 Boosters worth a year 'for free' with your Paragon Point stipend. And you're equating the cost of a Booster with only one month stipend. Also I may have added a little wrong, but, the boosters are being split into smaller chunks in the new cash shop to where getting a whole booster will be a minimum of more than 400 points.
You'll barely get one booster worth for that 400 points.
In the course of *a year*, you'll get 12 x 400 = 4,800 PP, which is more than enough to buy three Boosters worth of stuff. That's 3 Boosters for free.
VIPs get more under FREEDOM than before.
