I just want to say that next week will be my last MA Monday. I'm in the last year of my program and exams are picking up rapidly, and I'll have to dedicate more time to that. It also seems that the production of new arcs has slowed down since i14, so it might be a good time to stop the event unless people are still interested. In any case, I won't be available after next week.

Thanks for the great run all. We'll kick off next Monday with Witty's arcs. See you then!
    O.o

I need to finish work on the last library arc before you go!
  3. I can move the Sunday Dr. Q TF to a later time... Is 1 pm EST (10 am Pacific) or 2 pm EST (11 am PST) a better start time?

I saw the following posts after your preliminary posting, so this has been edited...

And at 5 pm PST, that's 8 pm EST... given the length of the Dr. Q TF, that's gonna be getting too late in the evening for me for either day. :/ Yes even Saturday...

Am I getting anyone interested in a morning/early afternoon Dr. Q on Sunday?

    MA Mondays!

My 3rd installment in the 4-part Library Restoration arc:

    Arc ID: 331736
Villains: Circle of Thorns, Banished Pantheon, Custom
Length: Very Long - 5 mission
Difficulty: Hard. Missions contain bosses, rescue captives, 1 Defeat All, and last mission with AV
Levels: first four mission are 25-30, last mission levels 40-45
Summary: Troy Viator has called you in to attempt another search of the abandoned Dark Astoria branch library. Like everywhere in that zone, the people were... taken... but the objects remained. Except for the library books that were cleaned out. Troy wants you to dig harder for any piece of evidence that can lead to that library's recovery. Instead, you uncover clues that can lead you back to the very day that Astoria fell into darkness!

This mission arc will most likely be buggy, mispelled, etc. Please note anything that needs troubleshooting.

    MA Mondays!

Ooopsies. I had posted these to the I-14 Directory at the top of the forum channel...

    Arc ID: 329428
    Title: Inglorious Blasterds
    Levels: 40-50
Length: Very Long (5 Missions, 2 Defeat Alls, AV on final mission)
Buggy: Probably. I tested it as much as I could but still... Anything out of place, please let me know!
Villains: Those Wacky Nacht ahem the 5th Column
Summary: My name is Witty Librarian and I'm putting together a special team, and I need me eight heroes. Eight cape-wearing heroes. Now, y'all might've heard rumors about the armada happening soon. Well, we'll be leaving a little earlier. We're gonna be dropped into Faultline, dressed as civilians. And once we're in enemy territory, as a bushwhacking guerrilla army, we're gonna be doing one thing and one thing only... defeating Nacht. Now, I'm the direct descendant of Patrick Macgruder. That means I got a little Librarian in me. And our battle plan will be that of a Librarian resistance. We will be cruel to the 5th Column, and through our cruelty they will know who we are. And they will find the evidence of our cruelty in the dangling, knock-backed, and disfigured bodies of their brothers we leave behind us. And the 5th Column won't not be able to help themselves but to imagine the cruelty their brothers endured at our hands, and our rocket boots, and the edge of our broad swords. And the 5th Column will be sickened by us, and the 5th Column will talk about us, and the 5th Column will fear us. And when the 5th Column closes their eyes at night and they're tortured by their subconscious for the evil they have done, it will be with thoughts of us they are tortured with. Sound good?
    The Blasterds: YES, SIR!
Witty: That's what I like to hear. But I got a word of warning for all you would-be warriors. When you join my command, you take on debt. A debt you owe me personally. Each and every man under my command owes me one hundred Nacht scalps. (dramatic pause) And I want my scalps.
  7. Sign-up sheets begin here.

Where: Firebase Zulu, at Dr. Q contact just inside the military base, to your right as you come through the portal.
Levels required: Levels 40 - 44 for normal play, with autoexemping all those over 44. Note: you can now get XP even exemped until Level 50 itself.
Team needed: Full count of 8 to even start. 4 Players need to finish to cover all simuclick mission goals throughout the TF.
Villain sets: Rularuu, Circle of Thorns, Crey, Nemesis, time (it's a long TF!)
Length: 22 Missions (at least 7 Defeat Alls officially. Unofficially: stealthing Rularuu and Nemesis missions will be extremely difficult)

For the Saturday 10/3 Dr. Q TF, please let me have a volunteer for team leader. Danke.

These are, by the way, one team each day at the least. If we get more than 8 people interested, we can see about having more than one team running. Let's try to get the first teams filled well before this Friday!
  8. The time to battle shadows is now...

Hola, Champion server! Shardtober begins this month with yet another run of the Dr. Q Task Force, starting off in zone FireBase Zulu!

    The rules:
    1) Full 8-player team is needed to start. Given the number of door missions with Simu-click glowys, you need at least 4 players to finish. We heartily encourage all 8 to finish, however...

    2) We know full well Dr. Q is the longest TF in the game. Most door missions out of all of them, a good number involving you to run back and forth between FBZ and the rest of Paragon City. Hopefully, a) Ouroborous portals will ease transport and b) Base transports can help as well. Still, you're facing at best a 5-6 hour TF at the fastest (anyone reporting a 2-hour Dr. Q will be eyeballed until confessing their true time).

    3) Team balance is a must: the villain sets you are facing are hard to aggro-control without Tankers and hard to survive without Defenders and Controllers handling buffs and hard to put down without Blasters and Scrappers dealing damage. Kheld builds also can join this as long as they complement well (that means tips, you Warshades!).

    4) Travel powers used to require at least one teammate with Fly/Teleport + Recall Friend. With temp Jetpacks now sold in all shard realms, this is optional (but still helpful).

    5) Despite the length, Dr. Q TFs can now be done well within a day. Just plan ahead to keep up to 6-7 hours free to ensure a good finish.

As such, this means getting sign-up sheets going. Two days this weekend, obviously: one run for those who can play Saturday, one run for Sunday. I will like to host the Sunday (10/4) morning/afternoon run, and I would like to have someone volunteer to host the Saturday (10/3) starting at your best available time. Personally, I'd suggest starting as early as possible, around 11 am EST (that's New Yawk time for those of you in Founder Falls).

Sign-ups begin on the next thread post below. Enjoy, and let's run a great Shardtober this year!
  9. My latest in the 4-part Library Restoration arc:

  10. You can't stop me!

Not only do I have The Hollows Recovery library arc at 328252, and the Inglorious Blasterds at 329428, but now I have added:

Title: Library Restoration Project - When Astoria Fell
    Arc ID: 331736
    Author: @Witty Librarian
Villains: Circle of Thorns, Banished Pantheon, Custom Unleashed Demons
Length: Very Long - 5 Missions!
Difficulty: Hard - Levels 25-30 for the first four (contains Bosses, Allies, Glowys, one Defeat All), Levels 40-45 for the final (contains AV!)
    Recommended teaming: Oh yeah!

Ola. I've got either a Level 8 or a Level 19... I'd normally want to run a Synapse TF but running an all-tanker one is sad to say slower than average, would take over 2 hrs at best, and I can't stay up that late tonight so... MA ARCS INSTEAD BWHAHAHAHA.

    More MA Arcs

I'm still making MAs because I've got a prolonged arc of sorts (the Library Restoration Project) that is two arcs done with two arcs (one based in Dark Astoria, the last based in Nerva!) to go. Since I didn't want to purge my birthday and pirate single-door missions, I went with buying more slots.

As regards to the drop in XP for custom characters, so? The storytelling is the objective... well, at least for the Creator...
  13. Didn't see this until it was a day late, but still: RUM RUNNERS OF BLOODY BAY! Arc ID 3691. Pirates, rum, more rum, and... something else... oh yeah, RUM.
  14. Oh, a word of warning - I've tried debugging it on test, and hopefully got all the map issues and rescue captive issues figured out. But you never know, there might be a plot twist or two...
  15. Was running a Mender Lazarus TF with Omega Flight on Champion server this Sunday... we began quoting liberally from a certain Tarantino flick and I realized - hey, I can make a homage arc called:

    Inglorious Blasterds!
    Arc ID: 329428
    Villain: 5th Column
    Levels: 40-50
    Length: Very Long. 5 Missions
Difficulty: Hard. Includes two Defeat-All missions and one AV mission for the finale.

  16. Great. Not only do I create 2 new MA Arcs... but my parents are inviting me over to dinner Monday night so I won't be able to join in on the MA Monday madness.

All I ask is if you run the arcs (328252 Library Restoration Project Hollows Recovery and 329428 Inglorious Blasterds, just search for @witty librarian and look for the brand), please let me know of any bugs, misspeels, screwups, and other picture postcards, I mean issues.

    More MA Arcs

Anyone else spend the 20 bucks to get 5 more MA slots?
  19. One other thing: last night I ran a Positron TF with a Level 40... somehow, the rules of autoexemping allow you to keep powers at least 5 levels above the TF cap... meaning that if you had Stamina chosen at Level 20 you had Stamina for Posi TF (SONOFA... YES YES YES). That plus the fact I still got XP for my level 40 Blaster - actually now a Level 41 WOOT - made this an awesome upgrade to the game...

I realize I can change the level of the mission and how many people are in it, etc, but that doesn't mean I wanted to give up teams ranging in 5 levels.
I find that this makes it easier to form teams, especially for higher level missions. It took hours to get enough Level 50s to SK all the Level 32s that wanted in on a Praetorian arc.

And besides we're not supposed to be in this for the PL's. We're in this for the PURPLE DROPS, CMON PURPLE!
  21. Arc ID: 328252
Title: Library Restoration Project: The Hollows Recovery
    Levels: 15-20
Villains: Circle of Thorns, Trolls, Custom Boss
Length: 4 Door Missions (multiple Click/Destroy Objects, 1 rescue hostage, three Defeat Boss)
Difficulty: Medium - Meant for good-sized teams
Story: This is the second part of a proposed 4-part series called the Library Restoration Project (Arc #13088 is the Perez Park first parter). The city's librarians are calling on a team of heroes to go into the ruins of the now-collapsed Hollows branch of the city library and collect as many recoverable titles as they can. But what the hero(es) find on the first door mission exposes a collaboration between the Circle and the Trolls, leading them to a plan by the Circle to unleash dark forces unto the world...
  22. Whilst running the Hess TF this afternoon, my team found that the Radar missions had been 'upgraded' via larger rooms and meaner mobs. But on the second radar mission, we could NOT find the computer device that needed destroying. We had to request a GM to show up and fix the door mission, which ended up being a Complete Mission... but then we could NOT get into the third radar door mission to continue the TF. Anyone else have this problem?
  23. I apologize to all who joined me for the noon time attempt at the Hess TF. The buggy second radar mission was unplanned... The plan was to get a buggy MegaMech mission instead... sigh...

Many YARRRRRRs to those of you who turned out for the pirate costume contest instead. Nice turnout. But you people need more pirate hats! Work on it, and you'll earn moar rum!
  24. Once again it's Talk Like a Pirate Day, and on this day I come as the petitioner to the Game Devs to ask:

YE SCURVY DOGS, WHERE'S OUR SHOULDER-MOUNTED PARROTS???

    Ahem.

I also come to petition for:

    1) PIRATE MASTERMINDS!!!

    2) New maps for both regular story arcs and for radio/paper missions and for AE Mission Arcs that are pirate-themed: classic sail wooden ships at sea, ships at port, open map zone mimicking such locales as Port Royal or Tortuga, etc. Because I'm getting tired of nearly ALL pirate-themed MA missions set in a modern-day cargo hold (including my own!).

    3) No, seriously, PIRATE MASTERMINDS! Just at least tell me you're considering making a pirate powerset to counter the Ninja MM... (insert puppy eyed look here)

    4) Rum! In-game special inspiration that grants a minor health/endurance boost, and to counter that a minor stun effect to reflect the impact rum has in the real world.

So what say ye? Shall we board and seize the prize? I vote yes, my hearty krewe!!! Set Sail for... OHIO!!!
