If you have the patience, time to waste and real money to blow farming pvp ios to make fake game money I say you earned every cent of that 2 bil.
[/ QUOTE ]
I farm while talking to my customers. The customers are much more mind numbing. -
[ QUOTE ]
My theory is that recharge >>>> more damage buff.
The reason is with defiance, you already get a large damage buff the more often you attack, so building to attack faster generates more damage in and of itself.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mostly true,
The exceptions are when you are leading off with your nukes. You don't get any defiance with them. Usually its best to just pop a couple of reds before the aim/buildup. -
[ QUOTE ]
I would love to see a bunch of people hit the PvP zones in hopes to get some drops. It would bring some life into a dying PvP community
[/ QUOTE ]
I would too but its likely they would just hit the arenas. Its much better for farming. -
Whenever I see posts saying "I made a billion doing x" or this was my get rich scheme, my first thought is someone wants to buy things cheaper. Not saying thats what you are doing Snappin, just thats what happens after. Someone runs a bunc of Dark astoria alch silver posts, the price drops briefly, someone posts essence of the furies is running high, the next thing you know it drops like a stone.
In this case if people flock to this it will likely kill the price of some pvp IOs short term. -

What I'm having a hard time understanding is why, when someone posts a thread in which they say, "I'm really liking Psi so far; any guides?", people take that as license to tell the OP that the set is mediocre at best and that he/she should reroll.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because I wish someone had of mentioned it to me when I was loving Psi/MM -
[ QUOTE ]
But for single target, it has been doing amazing for me so far. Can absolutely wreck a purple Boss super fast by spamming the 4 main ST attacks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well for one thing once you get your recharge slotted its not that great. Fire blast has no trouble doing flares, fire blast, blaze as a seemless chain. If you have a ranged attack in your secondary you don't even need the high recharge.
going further PSI has less damage in its st attacks than either fire or Ice. Tk blast does reasonable damage but its not blaze or bitter ice blast. Will domination is something that is nearly completely removable from the chain, its nice to keep around for sleeping minions but otherwise ?
There are no easily stackable controls within the set. I suppose you could try stacking scramble thoughts and psychic wail.
ICE vs psy you get 2 holds, and 3 AOEs all ranged plus ICE has the most damaging AOE in the game. All the AOEs are in ice are better than psy
All these are off the top of my head so i may be off
Psinado = 57 pts (As damage over time)
Psychic wail =300 pts
vs ice
Frost breath =87
Ice storm =116
Blizzard =500
Whats more in ice everything does the sam secondary with the exception of freeze ray. Everytime you fire ice you are slowing the target and it stacks stacks and stacks.
As to killing bosses and the like, what level are you running at ? Once you get into the 45-50 range it gets very painful.
If I hadn't of gotten my Psi/MM to 50 I would reroll it. -
Going PVP ?
Its very nice there. You can get good use from both boost range and boost power and you will have many chances to use in your face stuns and melee attacks.
PvE reroll. There is just far too much in the late game that you don't do well against. You also have almost no AoE attacks available to you. Its a bad combination. -

1. Any system in which to go to Paragon/Rogue Isles, your villain/hero is stripped of all IOs and downgraded to lvl 1 first and has to level back up again.
2. Any system where a third market is created and GR is treated as a co-op city, and not true crossover.
3. Any system in which the markets aren't merged, and illogically you are allowed to take items back and forth at will--it's illogical because at that point, you might as well merge the f*&^%$g markets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Posi more or less said no merger for a very long time. I have to say I like the idea of a co-op market, neutral market, courier system. I would just set up operations in all three and coordinate. It worked fabulously for the Rothschilds.
I am pretty certain that player positions on 2 and 3 are just chest puffing, but 1 is the deal breaker. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thus, I would like to propose a free market solution to the problem, one that is both simple and elegant. All we really need is some method for moving items (recipes, salvage, possibly inf but not strictly necessary) across faction lines. This could be the form of a third, neutral market, some form of in-game mail that works by account, or even side switching with Going Rogue if it's not too painful to go back and forth.
[/ QUOTE ]
I love this, but after a little while it would make the people that don't like using the markets go completely bug[censored]
It would also likely really tick off the people that make their inf from in place flipping. -
[ QUOTE ]
Good job.
Don't know how many times you will need explain this before people actually get it.
Then again, from who you responded to, I guess it's in fashion to blame this portion or that portion of the player base for one's individual laziness or ignorance.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are far too many players that won't assign fault to the developers no matter what. -
[ QUOTE ]
Let me suggest an alternative that involves the bare minimum of using the market: assuming you have at least one high level character, do one ITF run a day. The ITF is a fun task force that takes an average team 60-90 minutes (yes, I know about 30 minute speed runs). At the end of that time, you'll have several million inf just from kills, at least a chance of getting some purples, salvage that will be worth a few mil more, and most importantly enough merits to go for a rare drop (suggestion: go for a lvl 30-34 recipe). Yes, you'll have to use the market to list your items, but you can just list them low and cash out immediately. That's painless even for someone who doesn't care for the market.
[/ QUOTE ]
Merits and tickets are definitely the developers way of responding to the people that don't like using the market. -
Fire/MM is a fantastic combination for a ranged aoe blaster. Its also very good for the up close and personal touch, drain psyche and psychic shockwave is a great combo, then you can use fire ball and inferno as follow up pbaoe
Fire/fire is kind of all out damage and move in till they die or you do.
Both are most definitely fun. -

I really like steak. I hate tofu, though.
The grocery store I buy my food at sells both.
Do you honestly think it's reasonable for me to bang on the manager's door and demand that, because I hate tofu, that any money that I spend on steak should be used to further enhance the store's stock and inventory of steak, and that it specifically not be spent on maintaining the store's tofu stock?
[/ QUOTE ]
If you were willing to pay enough, I am sure the store would find a way to accomodate you. -

No end recovery, no heal, no 'tool' powers - so after level 32 SS had better be doing better aoe damage/mitigation than DM - but if you nerf footstomp, what exactly does SS have on DM? Not much if anything imo.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're one of those people that lolhandclap aren't you?
People knock HC alot around here but that power offers ALOT of mitigation. Take off your blinders.
[/ QUOTE ]
Depends on what its paired with. Pair it with WP and the knockback works against RTTC. Footstomp is much better because it lets you heal up off the critters. -

Which type of roll are these in? Thanks for any response, the Wiki doesn't have the information (that I can see).
[/ QUOTE ]
They are old pool C rolls so I would guess gold rolls now. -

But i think all the AE farming really is making really bad players for the other content.
Don't get me wrong. I love PLing, farming, and IO'ing out my characters. I don't RP, i don't like telling anyone how to play there game. I just thought id say maybe those of us farmers out there can take a little more care in who we invite to our teams.
Last night i did a synapse TF on Freedom. A pretty well rounded team, balanced, and pretty fluent in terms of moving along at a good pace. Well, 8 people started, only 5 finished. We went down to 5 after about 45 mins. Players that were invited to a TF, who knew there were being invited to a TF that were going to be exemplared down to level 20, had no idea why they were getting no XP, and didn't even know the benefit of the task force commander accolade and 50 or so merits you get upon completion.
It's unbelievable what people get themselves into, with no regard for the team or task at hand.
I hate to blame AE, but it's hard not too.
So, all i am saying is....don't pl with the n00bs, they are probably leaching in your farms anyway.
-Inc
[/ QUOTE ]
They are most certainly leaching in your farms.
Otherwise they are just regular noobs. The only difference is they know more about MA then they do about non MA. When you meet people like that in the game take a few minutes to bring them up to speed. Heck just point them at the wiki. Either will do wonders. -

I wish the devs would come up with a PROPER respeccing system.

Yes. Please.

Dont think there is a quintessential blaster.
Theres at least 5 major blaster types
Ranged Glass Cannon
Blaptroller
Blapper
AOE king
ST specialist.
Seeing as you want both range and melee and big orange numbers I'd go fire/ment.
You have blapper capability with this. Drain psyche to keep you alive, psychic shocwave, tk thrust and mind probe for nice close in attacks.
You also get clasice range and AOE. Fireball, firebreath and psychic scream. Subdual for that extra mitigation and a nice ranged damaging attack -

I have a pretty simple pistol concept.
Its a guy with guns who shoots people who he thinks are evil.
Funny enough its the same concept for my hero and my villain.

Kinda sounds like the punisher..

I was thinking the man with no name. Not so comic book but much more mythic. -

Yeah, I learned about the forum ignore function, added two people to my ignore list, and got a warning from a moderator for calling a troll a troll, which is apparently trolling.

Funny, you got posts modded, a warning and you had to ignore people.
I'm sure it had nothing to do with you though, you must have been 100% in the right.

Its the internets everybody is correct. And if you find something challenging to your world view you can always find plenty of things that are affirming. -

They need to make every single move correctly from here on out to live IMHO.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd say so as well, but I don't know what the population of 3+ year vets are and I don't even have a good way of making an estimate. If the devs get it wrong those are the people they will be counting on to keep them in the game to try again. -
[ QUOTE ]
What? You're comparing scrappers to blasters?
[/ QUOTE ]
I can make comparisons to other ats that was the one that came to mind. The original point here was do blasters have a mid/late game slump. The only way to answer that is with a relative comparison.
[ QUOTE ]
let's say you didn't hold the boss at first and he held you. It shouldn't be a problem. You still have up to three attacks you can use. Also, even if you don't hold the boss,
[/ QUOTE ]
Uhmm yes you do have 3 attacks thats what I used to generate my numbers.
[ QUOTE ]
Shivered him or layed down an ice patch, both of which would greatly cut back on how much damage he outputs. Chillblain would cut that back even further because if its -recharge
[/ QUOTE ]
If you shiver first on a spawn its boss + and or (minions and lts). If you lead with it you take the alpha, and have to deal with more enemies which undoes much of the mitigation from shiver. Icepatch certainly will help with the minions, but given the duration and the duration of the boss battle its something of a push. You don't have to deal with them while fighting with the boss, but have to deal with them immediately after.
If you go into hover mode you have the mitigation of only ranged attacks hitting but that is offset by having the non boss enemies pelt you with their ranged attacks. -
Get a stealth IO and superspeed.
Run into the center of a spawn invisible,
Aim+BU
Fire off Rain of arrows as a pbaoe
queue drain psyche
Fire Psy shcockwave.
Repeat you really don't need a special build -
archery
assault rifle
anything with a /MM
