I'd consider it basically the same thing as people who get home from work, get food and sit there in front of the TV watchin' all those shows that they have to watch. At least when you're gaming you're interacting with something and not mindlessly staring at a screen eating.
I can do without the video games, and they never take priority over RL. But there's also a reason why I'm still playin' this one.

If you had actually read it you'd probably have noticed that I didn't say anything about CU's moderators nor the players in the channel, just the nature of the chatter in the channel itself. And if you'd kept reading you might have noticed that I said absolutely nothing about BMT members being better than CU members.
BMT has rules that helps promote a focus on game-play, which is enforced by moderators. None of which actually made the channel, OR came up with the rules. They were asked to regulate the channel to provide a better gaming atmosphere for the rest of the community. Did you think we moderated the channel because we enjoy being hated by a quarter of the community?
CU has no rules, leaving the table open for any conversation you could fathom. Which most definitely falls into the category of a great channel for many people and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's just not preferred by everyone.
Both channels cater to different types of players who want different things out of their game-play. The term "Better Channel" is 100% decided upon by each individual depending on what they are looking for when they play.
Also on a side note to address a different aspect of your post. Being an "Experience Veteran" alone most definitely does not make you a good player, period. -
And in any case, I'm sure there are plenty of folks will PvP villains that would love to come out and pick on the heroes while ya'll take down the AVs. Which is what I'll probably be doing unless there's not enough to take down the AVs.

Depends what you perceive as "popular".
Champions United is an unorganized un-moderated channel for blabber and very rarely you'll see anything substantial. If you're into gabbin' about RL, or basically anything your big heart can perceive then join CU.
BMT is where you want to be if you actually want to play the game. Period.
If you're using channels to form up a team, use BMT if you want a better more organized team that has a brain for PvE. If you're using channels to be a chatterbox, you'll find CU more attractive. Both channels have a purpose, it just depends on you the player to figure out what you want out of the game. -

I'll have to chat you up in detail on those Kev after I get my Mind/Fire to fiddy. I plan on solo'n all the M's.
At the moment I've got a non-sleet build planned, but since the Dom isn't fiddy yet once I do slot it out I'll be playing around and testing the non-sleet approach on the easier Master TFs before I take on the more difficult ones. I would prefer sleet but will be testing the Melt Armor approach first. I want my damn Fire Ball/RoF. -
Just let me know whenever you're in a PvP zone Amily... I'll come, AS.

As some of you know, my folks have been at my house visiting this past weekend since they couldn't make it for Christmas thanks to the weather.
They've decided to stick around tonight, so I'll be havin' to cancel the Hami raid scheduled for tonight.

Watchguard - Dissolved while I was on a Deployment
BOSS - Came back from another Deployment and went lookin' for somethin' new.
UHB - Better part of 3 years - Member to Officer to SG Leader. Wasn't having fun playin' the game and took my leave to find the fun again.
Order of the Champion - Small SG w/ MAH, 4shes, Nator, Tabby. Moved on when MAH and 4shes left the game for a while.
Renaissance de la Veritas - Amy offered me a home here when I was SG-less and using my personal only. Basically found what I was lookin' for in an SG. -
