Quote:The real value is 39.99. I keep seeing people say that the CE of GR is 29.99, but I have never seen it that low around here. When I went to get a time card on Tuesday it was still 39.99 on the shelf.I have a problem with either your math or your wording.
The "real price" of the Complete Edition with the Black Monday deal is $9.99 + (possible) tax + (possible) shipping.
The real VALUE is $29.99 + (possible) tax + (possible) shipping + $10-$15 free month + $7 costume pack.
In any case, 9.99 that includes a FREE month, is a literal steal IMO. And if the OP wants to gripe about 9.99 WITH a free month, then something tells me he/she is just here to argue. -
Its been repeatedly said, including by a redname in one of the global channels last week, that if it did NOT go live on the 16th, that it would go live the week after Thanksgiving. With that said, it seems that Nov 30th is now the target date.

Samuariko made a video of teams taking out the drop ships, you can probably find it on her site, or on you tube.
Found it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZHWhE6JQ_U -

I've been playing around with it this morning, and on the main site it isn't tracking some of the villain secondaries. I've logged in a pain dom and a sonic resonance toon this morning, but in the 'account overview' stats, neither PD or SR is listed under the secondary tally. But if I go to the character's main page, it does show.
Its throwing me off a little bit because some secondary sets just aren't listing.
Edit - Its also not showing shield defense. May want to fix that so it keeps an accurate track. -
Quote:Sounds like you need a marriage counselor, not a video game.57 month vet here. Well, because I have nothing else better to do...it's either this or deal with a nagging spouse.
Yes, I am well aware that I am probably stepping on toes by saying that. But my marriage was almost ruined because of PC gaming. Spend some time with your spouse and iron out the bugs. Seriously, its more important than an MMO any day of the week. -
I doubt it'll go live Nov 9th. We haven't even had an open beta yet.
I'm beginning to suspect that the person who said Dec 7th, is going to be right on target with that answer. -
As for 400 mil not being enough...
Depends on what he's doing. I did a frankenslot on my Kin/Elec defender and it didn't even touch 400mil for the final build. She's killer and can end drain darn near anything.
You don't always need billions of infl, and you don't need to make the entire build in one day. Get what you can and work up to the rest.
IMO, anyways. -
I am on a generic IOed DM/FA... So I will gladly let ya'll fight over who gets the take the alpha strike. =D
-
Thanks for the heads up, but I think I'll just write down my 2 important ones on paper (out of 160 something) and just let the rest fade into oblivion. I don't have the patience to go mod that many files.

I don't like the early levels. At all. After being here for so long, I've played through everything multiple times. 1 - 20 is boring to me. As far as Praetoria goes, I have read through the Crusader/Warden arcs completely...twice for the Crusaders, actually... Power and Responsibility I have made it almost the entire way through those as well. I just don't like the lower levels. Sick to death of them.
After 32 (for some reason) I feel horribly stuck until about 41 or 42. -
No lag for me, either. And my PC is about 12 years old and isn't built for gaming. My graphics cards are hand-me-downs and I recently had to remove a bad stick of ram that we cannot afford to replace. I only get lag on the valley section of mission 3 on the ITF and events like the zombies and Rikti.

So, War, where are they in November? *runs around in cirlces*
Are we there yet?
Are we there yet?
Are we there yet?
*Repeat X 1000*
Oh, hi from Ael, btw. =D -
We're busy on Mondays from 7 - 8, so this is fantastic timing! I will be there with my brute and hubby will be there with his, which is only 1.5 lvls from 50!

Quote:Actually, if you know the date (and it hasn't been an absurdly long time) and time of deletion, they will restore characters for you. One of my friends quit the game several months ago. She said it was a permenant deal so before leaving, she deleted every single toon that she had. Some of those characters had billions in IO's sunk into them.contacted a GM, and they actually un-deleted her. I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to do that, but it's been years so I'll admit to it now, I think no one will get in trouble
She came back over two months later. 80% of her characters were un-deleted, but there were a few that had the data too garbled, those toons were lost.
But it can be done.
As for me...I don't think I've ever deleted a toon I regret. I *never* delete anything past level 15. I just can't do it. I've deleted a few 20 somethings before, but those were PLed and I just found them stale and boring...not to mention I had no idea how to play them correctly. -
I guess Nov. 16th or Nov. 23rd.
And...I haven't been able to keep my altitus in check. I made 2 more toons yesterday and 1 a few days ago. when I get an idea... Yeah, I kinda can't stop myself. -
If you've never done these before, and if you don't have an anchor toon just sitting at your contact, Doc q can take anywhere from 5 - 8 hours to complete. Every time I've been on one (with very competent players) it has taken 7 - 7.5 hours to finish. I've never been on one with an anchor toon at the contact, which I know helps tremendously. Your biggest issue with the shard TF's is travel time. So it helps to have very experienced players that know where to go almost by heart.

The thing is, that brute was lethal (for me) in the 20's and low to mid 30's. I was running at X6 with little problems. As soon as I got to the 40's and entered Grandville...
Complete and total disaster. Even with tough/weave I was dying at X2 +0 spawns. I mean wiped out in seconds. It got to the point I had to run X0 -1 just to be able to run certain missions.
She finally got to 50, but now she just sits. My husband and I have tried to plan out builds in MIDS and can't come up with anything that doesn't need about 5 set mule power picks. I even had a friend try and make a build...she made 7 of them and still wasn't satisfied, and she's a very competent player and builder.
I'd still like to see the builds being used by the people here who claim their DM/FA can chew through high lvl difficulty with absolute ease. Heck, I'd want to see a vid of it. =P -
Quote:More than three quarters of the player base likely has no idea about what this badge even is or means. In your eyes I'm sure that doesn't make it any less right to have it, but I doubt they will change this badge because it offends you, and what looks to be you alone. Why would a hero have a badge linking their actions to mass-murder?
They may as well get rid of everything offensive in this game, then. -
You can keep responding to me all you like, my dear little goat. But since I can't see your posts...kinda a bit moot, don't ya think?
Oh, and I like in your profile how you state you hate poor people. Probably one of the reasons you're so nasty to people who say 10 bucks is just too much for them. -
Wow...I know there were only two posts commenting about my brute, but did they, one in particular, have to come off so personal and nasty? I'm glad you can tear everything apart with your DM/FA, but I cannot. I die in about 4 seconds - that is *with* tough and weave.
Secondly, my husband never said that it was a crap set, just that I have had some unfortunate difficulty with it.
And thirdly, I am not a crap player just because I am having difficulty with this combination of powers. Sorry I'm not as perfect as you are.
Edit - Since a couple of you claim that its such a perfect combo that can tear through anything, care to share the build that you're using? -
Quote:No, honey, I read your post just fine. You're very judgemental to people who say 10 bucks means a lot to them. I commented on many of the 'points' your post had within; most of them pretty laughable for my situation and possible the situations of others. You don't know us or what our 'stories' are so to speak.Amazing, you quote my post but seemingly failed to read it.
here, maybe this rings a bell?
There will always be outliers. The reality is the vast bulk of the playerbase wouldn't miss ten bucks if it fell out of their wallet at the bar (or the mall, for our younger players =P).
Hell, even those people who say 10 bucks is a spit in the wind for, say that its overpriced. IMO, I think the pack should be 5 bucks. I also think, IMO, that we should be getting some of this stuff within issue updates or perhaps they could have put them in with GR since that cost 45 bucks on its own.
You don't have to like my opinion, but I am very free to give it. Think I'm full of it? Put me on ignore. -
Quote:As someone who has NO income, don't be so quick to judge people. I have had my PC for years; long before we ever had money issues and I just take hand me down parts for upgrades that cost me nothing. It is NOT a gaming rig and I find the assumption laughable.1: you can afford a gaming computer
2: you can afford a broadband internet connection
3: you can afford $15 a month for an MMO subscription.
I don't need to see your pay stub to draw some conclusions.
yes, there will always be some edge cases who play on someone else's tab or who are dealing with a fixed income that features exactly $14.95 worth of discretionary expenses per month
But the act of playing an MMO strongly implies a certain level of disposable income.
'The Playerbase' isn't squatting in a hut on the outskirts of Manila selling plastic shoelaces to buy rice, it's kicking back in front of a fairly decent computer in first world housing and blowing twenty odd bucks a week on junk food and soda.
in the context of a population that can afford to play a video game with a monthly sub fee, ten bucks ain't squat.
Buy it or don't, but stop pretending ten bucks is Bill Gates money.
Someone else here pays for the internet and cable out of their own pocket and by their own choice. Once again costing me nothing.
I live off of game cards when I have the money saved to afford them. Microcenter, a PC store here, sells the 60 day cards for 19.99 - NO tax.
I don't go to movies, out to eat, or really anywhere that can be called entertaining. So playing an MMO does not = disposable income.
Its irritating when so many new and shiny things come out through purchasable packs only. IMO this pack and the party pack should have just been given to the playerbase, or at least made 5 bucks instead of 10.
And ten bucks is 'squat' to some of us. Most of the playerbase may blow 20 bucks on soda a week, but a fair amount of us do no such thing. I don't. I rarely, if ever, even drink soda.
So while I see your point, you need to stop making assumptions to people who say this is just too much money for them. If its such a drop in the bucket for you, I'll gladly take one if you're buying.
