Maybe you could post these up on Google Docs in the form of a PDF downloadable file?

Quote:This. And no, CO does not compare. The only thing CoH and CO seem to share is a well developed costume creator. Beyond that, they are totally different.None.
Show me an MMO where I can make a character that looks like anything I want without having to farm for cool-looking loot for weeks.
Where I can play as a plumber hitting things with a pipe while holding a manhole cover OR as a sorcerer who breathes fire OR as a space station captain shooting a ray gun, and yet they all FIT regardless of what crazy origin.
Where if I think "I wish there was a mission where I did this cool thing I thought of" and all I have to do is go to a mission creator terminal and make it.
Where I can spend an afternoon fighting aliens on top of their crashed saucer, the next preventing a city from sinking into the spirit world, and the following one fighting ancient romans.
Where I can lose hours building and decorating a base for my characters to hang out while planning what to do next.
Where teaming is not required, but it's so easy that you do it anyway, because you don't have to coordinate sharing missions or checking that everybody is at the same "step" in a quest chain.
Show me that, then maybe I'll consider it. -

Only reason people hated her is 'cause of Energy Blast and her lousy AI. The character itself was solid, but she'll always be associated with bad gameplay features and people's immense hatred of KB.
Honestly I totally agree that she was way more developed than most of the Freedom Phalanx combined, and the Faultline and RWZ arcs were definitely some of the best written stuff we've ever gotten. -
Me, personally? I would just like to know if any legit plans were ever being made that revolved around Crey. I felt like they carried so little presence and were used more as a plot device than an actual corrupted corporation. I really feel like they had so much potential and would've loved to have seen something more done with them.

Quote:That one can be answered already. It was all a Nemesis plot. He was secretly pulling strings, pushing you to find and unlock Pandora's Box, and then he would swoop in and steal the power once all has been done. With the power, Nemesis was going to begin Brass Tuesday and take control of the United States once more.-How would SSA2 Pandora's Box have ended and where there any more SSAs planned?
Heroes band with the Freedom Phalanx, sending them out to key locations to protect them from Nemesis forces. Villains beat the snot out of Arachnos and force Lord Recluse to send his forces out to fight Nemesis. Meanwhile it all ends with you fighting a giant monster version of one of his Warhulks, wielding cosmic power yourself (defeat so many of his empowered Warhulks, causing you to be buffed enough to stand toe to toe with the GM).
After it's defeat, your character is knocked out. Heroes are recovered by the Freedom Phalanx, with everyone reflecting and Positron vowing to learn from the mistakes made and try to become a better leader from it all. Villains are recovered on their boat HQ by their lackeys as Castillo and Odysseus comment on how the next plan will be successful. They suggest that you call yourselves the Illuminati because you'll be attacking Arachnos, and the world, from the shadows.
Optionally for villains, you can track your contact as she makes an outside call. You find out that she's working for someone higher up in Paragon City, steering you in a certain direction and attempting to manipulate you.
All this information was posted on the boards yesterday from those that played the arcs on Beta. -
In every email I've sent so far I've made sure to provide links to not only the petition, but the various forum posts, news articles, CoH's main site, and links to the various features I bring up such as Mission Architect. The more visual proof the better, right?

Quote:Sort of.Meanwhile, we get to see Anti-Matter via his personal story. He's been fending off the Hamidon in the ruins of Neutropolis. His suit's damaged and he's trying to get to his space station to fix it and save himself because the DE have pretty much taken over. Metronome has beaten him to the rocket, however. Matronome is trying to get to the space station to coordinate efforts with Vanguard to evacuate the last remaining Praetorians to Primal Earth. Anti-Matter realizes that the rocket wont be able to take off because DE are headed there, so he goes deep down into the Underground to cause a distraction to allow Metronome to take off and save the people. As the DE close in, Anti-Matter goes critical shouting that even if no person knows of the sacrifice he made, at least the Hamidon will.
In order to fix his suit, it would take all the power the space station had, destroying the station in the process but giving Keyes a powerful weapon to survive with once again. Then he discovers Metronome was going after the space station not to evacuate Praetoria, but because the sonic barriers in Last Ward were repaired and having that station would give humanity another powerful base and weapon to coordinate attacks against the Hamidon.
Keyes realized this and had a decision; sacrifice the station and humanity's last chance but repair his suit, or let Metronome have the station and use it to save their world.
So Keyes chooses to let Metronome have it. He knows know one will remember him, but his legacy and sacrifice would live on within that space station. Since Keyes' suit is so damaged he opts to simply sacrifice himself to land a major dent in the Devouring Earth by single handedly destroying one of their Avatars. He goes nuclear but, in his last moments, Metronome picks up Antimatter's commincation signals and discovers what he's doing. And that's how it ends. -

I miss the Super Smash Bros Brawl thread we had.
That was my first forum experience. Getting involved with all those SSBB fans as we patiently waited for the game to come out. Every day a new update would be released and we'd all share our thoughts. I remember when Sonic was revealed and everyone flipped the eff out.
Miss dat stuff. -

Quote:You've already set the example and told people "No breaking the rules."To be honest, now more than ever we need the restrictions in place. More forums to moderate = more work than the three of us can handle on top of everything else.
Sorry guys, I know this will disappoint many people, but I'm trying to make this as sustainable as possible.
You don't need to continue making it so those of us unable to become VIP regardless of how much we may want to are restricted on features such as PMing friends and sharing personal information to stay in touch, or being involved in discussions on our own home servers between people we've grown very close to over the years.
This decision, honestly, is doing more harm than good. It's restricting players from having that last chance to be involved in the community. -
Well I shot an email to both Ryan Sohmer of Gutters and Tycho Brahe (I know it's not his real name) of Penny Arcade in the hopes of spreading the word about what happened to our game, and at least making sure this gets more media coverage.
Whether or not they respond or decide to do a comic based on these events will remain to be seen. But it's better than nothing. I'm going to try emailing the creator of PvP next since he actually wrote a mission architect arc for City of Heroes in the past. -
Any chance you'll be able to unlock all the forums for everyone, then?
It sucks not being VIP and not being able to post on my own server, or not see the beta boards despite contributing quite a bit to certain would've-been-upcoming features. -
Quote:They came out with "City of Hero" and tried to market CoH to Koreans. It didn't go over with them so well and bombed pretty quickly. And even if it did, and it was before my time, I'm 99% certain that it was before Freedom launched.. Which means that NCSoft was fully aware of the marketing base before they green lighted Freedom.
That's how we got all those Asian themed characters from the group WISDOM, like Foreshadow and Mirror Spirit. -
Another place you might want to consider sending emails to is Gutters. They write popular webcomics based on the comic book industry and everything associated with it. Considering this is the world's most popular superhero MMO, and it draws so much inspiration from comic books, I'm sure Ryan Sohmer would whip up something based around this game's plight. That, at least, would get some more media exposure.

I suggested Dink paint the tip of the Retro Scifi rocket pack the secondary color and it happened shortly afterwards >.>
A bigger achievement that I was actually really looking forward to involved I24's Crey spawns in Brickstown being changed. When they revamped the spawns in Bricks, they actually let Crey do PR stunts with the people and be more like a legit business and less like Arachnos or the Council. But they still conned red and would attack you on sight. So I brought this up, told 'em the problem, and brought up the point that Crey aren't evil when seen in the public eye. Only behind the scenes and when they can make a profit. So Crey spawns got switched almost immediately after to con neutral to players.
I thought it was such a cool breakthrough to better represent a group I love and felt was always poorly handled. I was really hoping we'd see more stuff like this with Crey in the future, but I guess we won't :\ -
Quote:Hey Debby Downer. At some point a long time from now you'll realise how utterly ludicrous it is to be trying an email campaign to Valve, so they'll use their own money to brawl over City of Heroes with NCSoft because you emailed them a bit.
You're asking them to make a simply colossal effort, which is what this is, for very little return. You know what, I think they're going to do nothing and continue to be mind bogglingly wealthy without the effort.
-
I did suggest that the tip of the Retro Scifi Rocket Pack be made tintable, so that more than just the rocket's fins could be colored. Dink was all "That's a good idea. You are so cool, you know that?" and it got implemented right after.
Also, in I24 Crey spawns in Brickstown were going to spawn neutral yellow after I suggested that now's the perfect time to start portraying them in a more PR friendly light. It got put into Beta immediately after and I was so pumped to see that. I felt it was the first real breakthrough to see better treatment of Crey, and be depicted less as blatantly evil and more friendly-only-while-cameras-are-rolling. -

Quote:probs 'cause they still have an image to keep up for future employers and the rep of their game. Plus this is just as sudden on us as it was on them. Maybe some of them are fighting and we just don't know it.from the picture of everyone on facebook, it appears that were the only ones pissed.... why is that? why arent they fighting as hard as we are with the 5k in petitions? its sickening!
Therefore, it's up to us to be massive, hateful, trolling ******** so the devs don't have to be.
