    No GR for me!

Kudos for being a rescuer. Friend of mine who ran a shelter is convinced that dogs that had it tough early on, remember that, and appreciate a better life if they get that lucky.

My super dog Guiness came from a shelter. I had gone in planning on adopting an adult, but while my friend the vet was talking to the shelter manager, thought I'd pop in to the puppy room, just out of curiosity...

When I got him home my shepherd/lab mix weighed less than the cat whose home we lived in. He outgrew two collars in the next month.

    Duo ITF Done :)

    Awesome, glad it went well.

  3. I'm likely going to move a few toons off the server that don't get played much at this time to make room, and may bring one in. I moved from Virtue years ago, and have never regretted it. If the trolls ever move I may consider it, but that would be about it.

Yeah, anyone that thinks Pinnacle is dead, probably isn't reading the server channels or has a very different gametime schedule. I'll be the first to admit that I don't form teams, and generally don't answer the call when teams are forming, but there is almost always something going on in the channels.

I know there are others out there that do it, but Dee's name sticks in my mind. I appreciate her advertising for teams, with the attitude, "doesn't matter what you have just bring it".
  4. Those were some awesome comments.

I'm refusing to add this up based on the fact that my wife may see the actual number, but I'm closing on the 5 year reward for one of my accounts, and have done several rig upgrades....

    thanks for the info.
  6. Criminy, but I'm ready to buy now!

Appreciate the input and the links both of you. Think I will hold off for a bit, see what happens with the game and info for Going Rogue. If nothing else, I could hit the after holiday sales.

    thanks again for the help

    Logging /loc

Now I realize I could check this on my own, but I never seem to remember when I'm at home and have the game on.

I know it's possible to log the different chats, but is it possible to log the results of /loc?
  8. Decided it's time to upgrade my current system. I'm rationalizing it to myself, by saying I can use the old one at work.

In looking at CPU's though, I notice that Intel outperforms AMD (no surprise there) but at usually a significant price difference for the middle to high-middle processors. I had hoped to stay at less than $350 for the CPU.

Just curious as to what people's opinions are between AMD and Intel in this range of processors.

Oh, uses huh, that would probably help. Two primary uses of it would be CoH, no surprise there, and image processing, such as Landsat imagery, so images of 100-500mb.

Soooo... if you see a mind/kinetics troller named "Doctor Mindscythe" running around Paragon City on Pinnacle, that's just my geeky little way of celebrating.

See this is funny, because when I got my new appointment to the college I'm at, I had to create a toon called P'ffesor Zoom on Red side to celebrate.

Anyways, a big Happy Ding Noize! to you Mindscythe. So they immediately bump you up the pay scale right?

Is there a title? or do I have to start doing searches on recently published communication dissertations in the online databases?

My wife's like this too. No nagging, but she has never shown a bit of interest in the game either.

Similar to my experience, though I got mine to try it a few times, she even made a character based upon one of my nicknames for her; Payamma Gurl. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to interest her. I blame it on her hobby of car racing. Just not enough excitement in a video game for her.

The upside, is that the account I set up for her is now populated with my characters.
  11. Troll is TROLL! /em tarzan

  15. My schedule sucks right now, but depending on when y'all run this I'd be up for testing. I ran a few blaster teams while Fashion Sense was organizing things.
  16. Yeah, great post, but it leaves me wondering...

Do you write these down as you think of them, or are you amazingly able to recall them all when you entered the post?

The 2nd could involve a USB wifi adaptor...we have a router in another room that the PC I'm typing this on now is hooked into...and while my Wii can pick it up fine(the Wii is configured to 'read' it), I dunno the router's WIP info and have no means(or even HOW to) of getting this...and would this even work in the 1st place?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Provided you can get wifi on the computer you want to play on there's no reason that you couldn't play by wifi. You may need to set up an access point to relay the signal from the wireless router to your PC, but it's not real hard.

No way to get the security codes for the wifi huh? Can you reset the settings to factory defaults of the wireless router? Then when they are at defaults, you can reset the security, with new keys that you and your parents know.

there is nothing I dread more than someone saying "I'm not getting xp" once you start a tf. When I was working on TF Commander with my main, it got so bad that I would only invite people that had to exemp down. At least if they were n00bs, we'd get it out of the way as soon as the TF started. I don't know how many times I'd have lowbies drop out of the tf halfway through a posi because they hit the level cap.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh lord, I'm having flashbacks. I once recruited an entire team by pasting a canned message into tells and broadcast. The canned message said the level range for the task force and ADDED "if above 30 you will be exemplared and not receive exp, but will get inf and merits and the badge."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Around i10 I accepted an invitation to a Cavern Trial. Now I had done that one twice before, both successes, admitedly one was with less than 30seconds left. Anyways I join up and the team leader let's everyone know that they will be exemped if over the maximum level. No big surprise. or so you'd think.

Once the Trial is started our tank starts complaining that most of his powers are greyed out.....and i start to get a bad feeling about how this one will end. We fight our way through the caverns, with the tank complaining the entire way about not warning him concerning the exemption. We've got no ghoster so have to fight through to the obelisks. After numerous tries of coordination between the team about what to click on and when, the tank finally quits.

I've done that trial a few more times after that, and to this day it's the only time I failed it, and the first time I wished we had something like the player notes we have now.

Freedom and Virute are the most active, but teaming is alive and well on all of them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Probably should mention that Freedom and Virtue are popular enough that access can be problematic when we have a high attendence event such as 2*XP

    Game of DOOM

    A couple of things.

This forum is for players to help players, the Dev's don't necessarily read it.

Secondly, I primarily play on two servers, one very high population and one realtively low. I've not had any bad lag in the AE in either, which would sugest to me that maybe it's on your end. Try the "Common solutions" thread in this forum to see if anything helps. Not much I can suggest about the spamming in Atlas other than try another zone.

Lastly, isn't there a Studio B that suppresses all powers in the AE?

    1. Sands of Mu. At low levels this is the only thing that makes them playable. I weep for new players who dont have it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Interesting, because when I make a new character, a lot of times I don't activate the vet attacks in order to give myself some more challenge. Dumb yeah, but works for me.

    1. Kilts
    2. Nemesis Staff. What? I like the knock back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But do you actually own a kilt in real life? I wonder how many people who make kilt-wearing heroes actually own a kilt, and if so, actually wear it.

Great avatar, by the way. I'm an old fan from the late '70's (which, sadly, shows my age). It's hard to believe I've been seeing them in concert for 30 years now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup, own a kilt and I do wear it. Not one of those shorties either, 6yds (or is it 5?) of Endinburgh tartan.

30 years huh? Got me beat by a little, first show I saw was Grace under Pressure. Even turned the wife into a fan, she now goes with me to Toronto to see them. Man I love Canadian fans.

  23. I believe that the Win7 RC is still available for free download. I've got it installed, and once I let it install the neweast video drivers, I've had no issues. Think the download should be good until next May or so.

Follow the fallen saint of the Tech issues forum's advice.
  25. I haven't played a Fire troller, so I can't say for certain, but I believe all controller pets stick around until you zone, unless dismissed or defeated.

Yes they are targetable, I've occasionally (when teamed with a fire/*) hit them with bubbles from my Earth/FF.
