Thanks. The avatar is from a short film called Rejected by Don Hertzfeldt. The Nemesis cereals were inspired by Ascendent-Os and the nemesis soldiers having a similar wardrobe to captain crunch.

I just wanted to say one last goodbye and thanks to everyone on Protector. This server has always felt like home and it's because of how awesome you all are.
My email is zaloopa@gmail(dot)com and if you ever see a Zaloopa running around the internet somewhere it's probably me. Unless it's a Zaloopa that's speaking Russian, since apparently my made-up screen name is also a Russian slang word. -
Whoops, sorry guys, I thought I would be home in time for this.
We'll try for Tin Mage next sunday. -
Just a reminder that Strike Force Sundays is still going every week. I've been super lazy about posting the screenshots but I'm still taking them. I'll probably post them in batches later on.
Speaking of screenshots, I won't be removing any of the images I've uploaded to Photobucket, so if you're one of the SFS regulars and you want something to look back on with nostalgia some day then save THIS LINK somewhere. (That goes all the way back to May of 2011, anything before that was over at imageshack and appears to have been destroyed by them. ) -
Quote:Yeah, really all it has in common with WoW is that it's a fantasy-style game, pretty much everything else is different. I've been playing GW2 in the hopes that it will at least temporarily fill CoH's gap until something else comes along.I've played WoW. I played Rift for a while cos it was free to play to level 20 - THAT'S a WoW clone.
GW2 is not a WoW clone at all. There's always something to do! Lots of zone 'boss mob' events, lots of exploring, there's your own personal story line quests (which you control through decisions which affect the story line), there's zone quests, exploration... The skill system is different from WoW. A lot of care went into this game, and it shows. It's a lot of fun.
I know a lot of people want to boycott NCSoft because of how they shut down CoH, but I think that's silly. Arenanet is the studio that made guild wars, so why should they suffer because NCsoft did something stupid? The way I see it, if a few months ago someone told me they weren't going to even try CoH because NCsoft shut down another game they liked I would have argued against it. I don't see why that should change just because I'm on the other side of it now. -

FYI, I got my VG base set up for the CoP trial. Now I just need to be online at the same time as one of you to send an invite.

Yeah, that was kind of my response. The first MMO I ever played was Asheron's Call 2, so this is the second time I've had a game shut down on me.
Judging from my experience with AC2's final days my enthusiasm to play will probably drop off quite a bit. That said I plan on keeping strike force sundays going for as long as the servers are up and I plan on being on Protector at the end, right up until I get booted. -
Ok, so this is a simple idea of copying the robotic arm 3 category and making it use both arms instead of just one. Yeah, I'm sure this wouldn't be as easy as it sounds, but I don't *think* it would require any new programming. (Obviously I don't know for sure so I could very well be wrong.)
The fire and ice costumes had special arms that only appeared in robotic arm 3, and the upcoming cybertech costume set will also have a couple of arms that will be exclusive to robotic arm 3. I mostly just want to be able to use those models for both arms on some costumes. -

I had to double check this because I was sure they took out the damage bonus a long time ago. Sure enough, the damage bonus is no longer in Mids but the text description of domination still says it buffs damage.
I'll also add that while domination generally doesn't help controls that are placed at a location like Volcanic Gasses from Earth Control, the location hold from Dark Control, Shadow Field, IS affected by domination. I was actually kinda hoping they'd go back to other sets and give them the same treatment. -
One of my favorites was actually from a Slag Golem ambush.
"We are Slag Golems and we are attacking!" -
I'd suggest Corrupter. But then I'd always suggest Corrupter.

Yep, it works as an aura around the MM like other similar enhancements. On the beta server it currently gives 10% resistance to all damage types and a buff to regen. (I forget how much regen exactly)
-
If I remember correctly the devs felt that a 30% damage buff at low levels would be too good.

We had a melee-tastic Treespec run followed by a fun Ice Mistral run. The circle of thorns didn't know what hit them!

Next on the List is the Imperious Strike Force (also known as ITF because the heroes think they're the center of the universe ). So if you want a happy adventure fun time with time travelling Nazis meet up in ancient rome next Sunday, September 2nd at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT! -
I've always wanted a Spear Melee powerset. Sadly now that we have Staff Melee and some spear-like skins for it we'll probably never get Spear Melee since you can sorta fill the concept.

When GR launched my girlfriend made a dual pistols catgirl and managed to get the name "Tigger Happy" which surprised both of us.
So to add to the discussion, what names were taken that surprised you? -

Quote:How much would keeping the buffs up affect overall DPS (with cast times and how often you'd need to re-apply)? I'm not good at figuring out attack chain numbers and such so I was curious. You've obviously never seen 2 Empathy/Sonic Defenders buffing each other before.
I'll lay it out:
Beyond soft-capped defenses, with no holes to any position or type.
+60% damage. +78.75% with Assault running. That puts a Defender pretty close to Blaster base damage. Also, permanent fast snipe on the sets that have one.
170% global recharge. AB being permanent makes it very easy to make Hasten permanent as well.
A better than Reconstruction heal available every 2 seconds at those levels of recharge.
Capped (or close to it) regeneration and recovery via the 2 Auras.
Stackable mez protection.
Since all that would be possible on a self-targeting Empathy Defender before IOs are even considered, you could focus ALL of your IO slotting on +Max HP bonuses, which is the only thing not available in Empathy. Defenders have the same max HP as Blasters. You could focus quite a bit on damage bonuses too, and surpass the damage output of a Blaster on a consistent basis.
An Empathy/Fire Blast Defender would be pretty ridiculous if they could self-target with their buffs. It would outperform a Blaster in just about every way. The Blaster might win in sheer damage output, but over time the Defender would win there too, since damage drops to 0 when you're dead, and the Defender would spend much less time being dead.
Edit: I just did the math. With a theoretical power that deals exactly 100 damage a Blaster will deal 112.5 damage, while a Defender will deal 65 with the same power.
A Self-buffing solo Empathy Defender will have +78.75% damage from Vigilance, Fortitude, and Assault. That Defender will deal 116 damage with that theoretical power, surpassing Blaster base damage.
When enhancements are considered, final damage at 95% enhancement will be 177 for the Defender versus 218 for the Blaster. That's not a whole lot less damage when you consider how much more survivable a self-buffing Defender would be. -
I managed to get "Flavor of the Month" for my ice cream themed Stj/Ice stalker.
