If my logging on to a server means that I suddenly boot a "freemium" player off said server while said "freemium" player is enjoying the game, which you seem to want in your previous post, then no, I no longer want to tell NCsoft and Paragon Studios to shut up and take my money.

I dunno about you, but I draw the line at my enjoying the game at the expense of someone else's enjoyment, be they "dirty unwashed freemium peasant scum" or "glorious VIP master race." I believe that with the new Freedom model, the game can--and should--be enjoyed by everyone, no matter their account level.

Going by that logic, I'm possibly "worth" slightly less than you, since I only play sporadically over the years and am just barely creeping up on my 45-month vet reward badge. Then again, I feel that judging a player's "worth" as such is a form of discrimination, which, by the way, is not cool.

By the way, I'd like to put this out in the open right now:

I do share similar concerns over the "freemium" crowd, and that it might--no, will--attract a fair number of the unsavory MMO stereotypes floating around. However, I still believe that they deserve the privilege of enjoying this game, just like you and me, even as "freemium" account holders. Maybe I'm a bit of an idealist, but I still want people to experience the game that I keep going back to when I want my superhero MMO fix despite--or maybe because of--its age and quirks, and deep down, I hope you do too.

At the very least, today's "freemium" players may become tomorrow's (returning) VIPs, so to speak. And again, you can always use your free monthly server transfer to move one of your characters to the VIP server, away from the "unwashed masses."

By the way, you do realize I'm using those terms in jest, right?

    Just wanted to make sure.

I'm really hoping voodoo was right about those upgrades...anyone know something specific? I didn't get anything from a forum search...
I don't usually follow the forums all that much, but the whole "Praetorian Surge event = stress-testing the servers" kinda makes sense if you think about it in the long run.

tl;dr: No, I don't think that VIPs logging on should immediately boot a playing "freemium" player. I also think that you're overreacting a bit, though I do understand where you're coming from in a way.

If that seriously happened, I would stop giving NCsoft and Paragon Studios all my 2k monies right then and there.

I don't wanna play a game where a free player gets the boot every time a member of the VIP Master Race decides to log on and shoot the breeze. I'm just saying, that's all.

    Virtue Or VIP

I'm staying, whether by design (as part of the "dirty unwashed freemium peasant scum") or by choice (as part of the "glorious VIP master race").
  5. Before you guys go all "HURR ROOKERY x 9001 DOOMY DOOM DOOMHAMMER 40,000: DAWN OF DOOM DOOM CRUSADE" on us, do note that only VIPs (read: the subscribers like you and me) can actually post on the forums. In short, nothing's changing, in that regard.

Just look at the side-by-side comparison.

  8. Preorder? No. Prepurchase? Yes. But you'll have to prepurchase the expansion directly from NCsoft, y'know.

It's believed that Dual Pistols should be ready around the upcoming Double XP Weekend, but don't quote me on that.

You can take TGA screenshots, I believe. You just have to bind the appropriate button in the Options screen.

Of course, I could be wrong.
  10. I have the game. Messing around with Lilith is fun, but I'm leaning more toward Roland.

'Cept I'm on the 360, since my PC can't exactly handle the game. This means that I turn with all the grace of a tool with tunnel vision.
  11. Honestly, I'm just replying because your name and avatar remind me of my favorite character in End of the Millenium, and how she was removed from the party until the last leg of the game.

    So... yeah, that's about it.

  15. Zero. I'm not fond of time-travelling or time-displaced characters, save for maybe one of my characters taking part in That One Quest. Just doesn't really click well for me.

Now, dimensional-travelling characters, however, that's another story. For one character alone, I think I have... maybe about 20-25 different versions of him, all relating to some MMO I played, an RPG (pen-and-paper or no) I've taken part in, and whatnot. I dunno; I never really counted, so the number's really a guesstimate.

Yes, your RPSG DOES go bone dead for half of the day, even if there are people on when you get on and log off. Everyone else hasn't been on all that long, and will be leaving not that long after you leave for the night. Quit telling people that there will people to RP with when they are sitting at their computer having needed to get up early to get work and before they need to actually leave, if they are leaving; it's a lie, even if it might be unintentional.
    Whoa there, Brotaro Brostar.

You might wanna tone down the RAGE just a tad, y'know? I don't think an outburst like that'll help you with your search, if you catch my drift.

I thought Sicilian style was where the crust was raised up and baked in a square pan (which is AWESOME, by the way). Chicago-style is the style where the sauce goes over the cheese and toppings. Also, sun-dried tomatoes.

Someday, I'm gonna stop at the Adrian's on Perry Highway and try a pierogie pizza.

I forget, did I drag you along on that ONE time I fought the Envoy? It's been ages since I completed that arc, and I deleted my one Scrapper who finished that arc.

... wait. I may have fought the Envoy twice. Ah, who knows?

For the Countess the ends justify the means, although a lot of the other high ranking members of Crey are probably simply corrupt.
You're forgetting that before she was Countess Crey, the woman who would eventually become Countess Crey actually had--get this--a criminal record. Sure, she had lots of long-term plans to help the city, but with that criminal record hanging over her head, who's going to trust her?

Also, the Countess wasn't a heroine. She was an idealist.

    6. 5 was Croatoa + Archery & Sonic sets, IIRC; 6 was pretty much Villains itself (assuming you had a CoV serial, before the two were consolidated into one product), along with bringing zone PvP, bases, and whatnot to Heroes.

Of course, I could be wrong. I probably am, too.

I ended up beating that game as the Raptor 'bout a week after my dad bought it for me, way back when. Grant, though... that took me a few months, and only because I didn't realize the solution was right in front of me.
