VU2010 and Virtue TFs
Honestly, I'm just replying because your name and avatar remind me of my favorite character in End of the Millenium, and how she was removed from the party until the last leg of the game.
So... yeah, that's about it.
I don't mind the random banter in VU, and have been known to chime in a fair bit. You can usually find answers to whatever question you may have on VU. I've also never been let down by the people in VU when I'm looking to form a TF.
I can't comment too much on the other channels since I'm not a member of them, but you could always switch chat channel tabs and go about more direct routes when looking to team. Utilizing broadcast, search comments, sending tells, etc.
The thing is not everyone in Virtue LFG, and Virtue TFs is also in VU2010 or vice versa for one reason or another.

V-Tron Elec/EM - V-Tron X EM/EA

Three global channels that are basically serving the same purpose.
Paragonian Knights
Justice Company
The solution is to put each channel in its own tab and then when Virtue TFs starts looking like VU2010, you click another tab. As long as the mods are OK with the level of chatter and conversation, that's pretty much the only solution.
As far as my opinion, the chatter never bothers me. Sometimes I groan at terrible jokes or frown when someone is especially stupid but that's about it. I honestly have not seen that much conversation in channels other than VU. Brief outbursts sure but it's not like the channel is constantly inundated with talk of how drunk @Whoever got last weekend.
I actually find it far more annoying when the channel is silent except for one putz who sends the same "looking for ITF/LGTF" message once a minute for ten minutes. Or the worst thing of all: "anything goin on?" Yes, doubtlessly numerous things are going on, but it's not likely that someone's MoLRSF was waiting on one last lazy sod to log in and ask after it.
Oh, that turned into a bit of a rant. Sorry OP. So yes, rough luck that the way the channels are used is a bother to you, but it's easy to fix by changing tabs. Monitoring the channel constantly isn't necessary. If you want to do something in the game, form the team and forge ahead! Much faster than waiting for someone to form up or asking for someone else to form it for you. Not that the OP has this issue, just a pet peeve of mine
i like the banter on channels. if it gets annoying i take them off chat tab and put them on own tab.
as far as vu2010 topis. yes some are off topics but cant do tfs/events 100% of the time with 1000+ people
Virtuetfs-mostly are task forces and badge hunt occasionally a gm or a special event announcements but there is now occasionaly banter...why? because if you dont same thing over n over your mind wanders,,,,
occasionaly as a mod in virtuetfs i tell people to get back to topic but being winter event and people in jolly post school mood i let them banter far more than they used to its the holidays relax,,=)
as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.
I honestly didn't think Virtue TFs was moderated at all. I remember being on a TF once and someone was just handing out ops left and right with the reasoning being it's a "public" channel. Ever wonder why a third of the members are moderators?
I think I jumped the gun with this post though. I think I've just logged on during some annoying topics the past few days. I got to play for awhile this morning and it wasn't bad at all.
hmm convo in Virtue TFs is fine IMO
I remember when all members of Virtue TF's were Mods...
But...I've been tempted to demote the majority of people just to fix the issues -- if there was/is/will be
And I've also considered promoting everybody that comes in so yeah
If it becomes an issue then we will solve it...

I always considered VU2009 to be the social + teaming channel, while Virtue TFs was more of a short and to the point channel. The last couple of months Virtue TFs (and to a lesser extent Virtue LFG) has been slowly becoming more and more VUish. I'm guessing it has to do with VU2009 reaching max capacity, even though there's a new VU2010 now.
I was totally fine with the sporadic conversation now and then, but now it's to the point that it's honestly just another Virtue United channel. Perhaps I'm in the extreme minority, but I liked having the option between social + teaming and just teaming. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to read about various people's opinion on WoW or other various topics.
So... does anyone else feel this way? If I'm totally alone I can just suck it up I guess, but I am sort of curious what other people think.
