  2. Not sure if it's post jacking, but I got this build I was thinking of... no purples or pvp or anything, but lots of other spendy stuff.. Manages almost 50% def vs all but psy, decent regen.... Probably not enough damage though, not sure. ANYWAY:

  3. Forceware 260.89 for nvida says...
    NVIDIA SLI

    * Adds or enhances SLI profiles for the following PC games:
o City of Heroes: Going Rogue
    o Alien Swarm
    o Dead Rising 2
    o Front Mission Evolved
o Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days
    o LEGO: Harry Potter

In the change notes. I'd say that's a decent sign.
  4. In my experiance laptop video cards tend to run at slightly below 100c at load. That is just the normal thermal footprint of such things. What's the problem is when you have a laptop that will only amp up the one fan in it when the processer gets hot.

Also, desktop cards usually run south of 80c, 90c is hot, but as long as it's not 100, you should be fine, though if you have a card running at a constant 90c at load, there is likely something wrong with it, desktop wise.
  5. Is up now, goto everyone!~ Wolf tails are in too.
  6. Didn't let me in either, same message
  7. Akaiku

    SLI on I17 Live?

It doesn't throw an error when you put it there, it did if you typed it wrong on test, so I think it's still there.
  8. Have to do my part to dilute the kitty pool!

Zalya Destrali, Petty red-haired thief and thug until one day the great poisoning of the water of both Rogue Isles and Paragon gave her, like so many others, feathered wings. Siezing on the confusion, she flew through a high window in a Paragon Police headquarters she snuck next to and stole most of an experimental armor suit. Now she goes around pouncing things for fun and profit, often from large heights causing rampant property damage.

She has tried several times to add claws to her armor, but they keep breaking off, to her irritation. She is glompy to people she likes, but that often doesn't end terribly well. More likely to roar then mew as she's more lion then kitten.
  9. Also, people can wait till this issue goes open beta (or till they get into the closed) and see how it runs with like... experiance and such. Silly idea but still, throwing it out there.

It's also stupidly harsh to do decently. Most devs don't think the kill your computer taxing soft body physics spreed across however many people are on screen at the same time is a worthwhile effect to bother adding....

But heck, physix can supposedly do it... still will never happen.

But hey, it's not out on a shelf yet, so everything is a lie to make you not spend your money. Apparently that is a bad thing to many people.

W7 64 bit takes 20 gigs minimum. Some games take up to and including 20 gigs. 40 gig hdd won't fit it. Plus, you have a 1.5+ tb hdd also to store non-hdd access caring things right?

Nvidia's only other market entries right now based on chip orders are for the GTS 250 and the "new" GT 2xx, GT 3xx, and GTS 240 cards.

There will not be a Fermi-Mid-range until August at the earliest... and probably no low-end cards until late 2010, if not 2011.
Or, as another option, you might be able to score gtx285's on the cheap when fermi actually IS launched from people buying the new tech and using their pre-existing high end as cash to help pay for it. XFX even warintees the first re-sale. But the person would have had to register it in the first place and lots of people dislike doing that for some reason.
  14. As a side note, currently in Nvidia drivers, sli is turned off (or, more accuratly, forced into single-card mode) in the driver profile for city of heroes. Turning sli on or off has no effect unless you change that setting to a different one. I believe that was because historically, City has had negitive scaling with sli and it's not particualry graphic heavy.

Hopefully, ultra mode can also fix some of the wierdness that happens that a card is not taxed shader or memory bandwith-wise but still only pulls 20 or so fps (Like grandville and some places in cape)

Also, I've currently got 2 gtx285's in sli. One is water cooled. The non-watercooled card's fan is not all that loud unless it's going at full-tilt, and even then it's not terible. It's not 'silent' at full bore though.
  15. The ninja run when holding that council machine gun looks cool.

Also also, can we have the end cost of toggles that are suppressed also suppress? Probably not.

Also also also! If you do add animated tails, please don't make it count as a 'cape' object and make them not work with trench coats, capes, veils or wings! Please?
  16. Something I noticed is that city on my current drivers (191.07) doesn't like to actually spin up the card. It runs at idle clocks causing my 285gtx's to get 30 or so fps constantly. Might check your clocks when city is running.
  17. Actually, I was able to repeat that glitch. I just need to get that instant crash "City of heroes needs to close, tell criptic about this bug" error, then jump back in instantly with the -project coh -cov to bypass the launcher.
  18. As soon as the game went fullscreen from the loading bar it crashed.

I defragged, I do have 18.5 gigs free on the drive city is installed on, which is also my os drive.

No I didn't monitor it, as I play full screen and that doesn't work well, but yes, I used /unloadgfx every 10 or so minutes.
  19. Hijack this log after it started doing that again (sometimes the problem goes away after a while.)

  20. Okay, this one is funny and all. Crashed when talking to Black market contact, then got back into the game. Once back in, pretty much all animations were switched around or messed up...

    Hilarity ensues.

  21. Okay, after a few hours of playing city, I get a "city of heroes has encountered a problem and needs to close. The crash occurred in" error.

Yes, it doesn't say where it crashed in.

    Any ideas?

Also, here is my CoHhelper thinggy.

    Tried rebooting, didn't help.
  22. 190.62 works just fine.

190.89 crashes on load for city, so avoid those.

The closest thing to a gotcha you got going is that you are eating up more memory addressing space, which might be a vague issue if you got 3 or 4 gigs of ram in that 32 bit box.
  23. Vista 64. This is the lastest available, as opposed to latest offical. This is an openCL dev driver (read beta) that I got off of guru3d. Strange thing is this is the first problem at all I've had with it and it's complete game failure.
  24. This particular driver package seems to pop up the crash window in city of heroes as soon as it goes to full screen from the updater. Does it do that for other people?
