Punchline: I Just Earned Tier 9 VIP (yay)

Yeah... yay.

I had already done the math and figured out that (if all the rewards continued normally for the 3 months of "sunset") I would reach Tier 9 during the final week.
The best part is how I've long been a costume creating fanatic (I have 2,362 saved costume files) and was rather vocal, over the years, about being against (extremely) gated costume options.
After all this time of being a good little patient guy... I never did get those costumes... thanks guys, hah.
Told ya I hated that stuff, Zwill.

Haha... Ah well.
I'm ready and willing to keep earning my way up the damn tree should someone be so willing as to take my damn money for it.

P.S. yay

I still want to know what their plan was for the costume pieces that got rotated out :<

GONE FOREVER.

It's the NCSoft way.

Celestial Armor Costume Set would have hit the Paragon Market next week.

Well, clearly this angered someone high up in the Celestial bureaucracy!

That explains so much!

If only they would disable the Hero Summoning cap, i would love to go out with my CoH heroes along me, but i can only summon one

Felt kinda sad when i checked my mailbox, see how much i still have unclaimed, inspirations, temp powers, bonus stuff, even the new IO's, thats sad...

50)Sinergy X/(50)Mika.

Actually it was Paragon Studios decision for how their rewards worked and what went on the market or what not.

Throwing the blame for *everything* that went wrong to NCsoft, even if it was Paragon Studios fault just shows how much you dont want to allocate blame correctly.

Thanks for that info, BP.
I was wondering about that as well. No point, I suppose, in asking about the price, haha. I'm glad you guys were doing that. It seemed like you guys were always going in good directions with things, even if there were some things that I disagreed with pretty strongly (no big deal... not like everything was designed directly for an oddball like me), there'd always be good conversations/exchanges and usually some bones thrown to show that you didn't completely forget the other side of the equation.

Really... for the impossible game of trying to keep everyone happy, you guys managed to do an incredible job.

I could detail all that some more and/or throw in a bunch more metaphors about it all, but what's the point?

Haha, and Gangrel, I took Slaunyeh's comment with a healthy dose of humor.

The idea was that the T9 VIP sets would go into a "vault" for about 9 months after they were pulled from the PRP. This was so that folks who were the early adopters could still feel like they got something special, but could still let the costumes be accessible for folks who missed it.

It would have incurred e-wrath. We were going to explore different pricing models. Part of what we realized was that our pricing model for costume sets was pretty inconsistent.

Odds are if it was a point of contention on the forums, it was already nuclear within the studio between dev+marketing. EVERYONE had their own opinion, and EVERYONE was right!

Thank you. I think the entire team did a great job of managing the impossible on a daily basis. It was an ongoing effort to try and maintain a delicate balance. Some days we did it better than other days.

Yep, that sounds like as near perfect a plan as I can think of.

Hahaha... Okay, now I'm curious. You can, of course, send me a PM and utilize my top security secret-never-to-be-revealed protocol. It's 100% fail-proof.

On that last note... Exactly!
And, yeah, another part of what I loved about being a customer here for the past bunch of years - the decision was made somewhere along the lines that you'd all not pretend to be any different than the rest of us (if you get my meaning) and it made understanding decisions, choices, disagreements and such all the more easier. Not to mention that it made for a great atmosphere and led to that collaborative feel that no other studio has had with their customers/fans.

I see it as being akin to the ol' trying to plug holes in the dam.
Or trying to keep all the dogs' bellies rubbed and scratched...
Some days, you're going to miss some spots now and then and some are going to get more attention and others are going to be a little neglected... but over the longterm, everyone was pretty well taken care of (icksnay on the ayerplay ersesvay ayerplay).
