Your most loved character to play?

My namesake, Claws and Effect.

Claws/Regen scrapper. Don't have his build handy, but he's gotten pretty beastly.

He was a scientist developing cybernetic replacement limbs for soldiers who lost limbs in battle so they could return to active duty. Crey wanted his research and he refused to sell, so they blew up his lab with him inside. After losing the use of all 4 limbs he had the prototype cybernetic replacements grafted on in their place.

Initially his body tried to reject the limbs, so he had to use experimental nanomachines to repair the interface between his body and the cybernetics. That had the unexpected side effect of givng him incredible regenerative abilities. The nanomachines are trying to maintain the status quo between man and machine, and that includes repairing all damage to its original state.

I think that the character of mine that I like to play the most is actually a relatively new one; my Time/Fire Defender.

He's only the third character I've ever bothered to complete an IO build for, and he's really something to see. Softcapped Defense against all types and positions, nearly hardcapped Smashing/Lethal Resist (which I believe Issue 24 would have topped off), perma-Hasten/Chrono Shift. With the changes on Beta I was absolutely giddy at how dumbfounded beastly he was going to be (Inferno cycling in 42seconds? YES PLEASE!).

I never wrote a bio for him, cause I'm not an RPer and I can basically never write a bio that I'm happy with, but I did have a general idea of a background, which was linked into CoH lore.

He was an Oranbegan scholar-mage at the time of the Mu war, who rejected the idea of allying with the demon-princes and instead fled into exile. Eventually in his arcane studies he unlocked the potential for temporal manipulation, and has been leapfrogging through time to periods where the Oranbegans have been most active, searching for a way to break the demonic pact/curse and restore honor to his former people.

Sorry this one's quite a large image, but I just love the way it turned out.

I have to go with my Bots/Storm mastermind. The awesomeness of ranged damage combined with the debuff and control of the stormy powers. The robots never complained about any storm KB.

Triumphant Defenders Forever
Psylenz FF/Psi, ArticQuark Storm/Rad, Symon BarSisyphus Bots/psn, Max VanSydow Thugs/Dk, Cyclone Symon Bots/stm, Blue Loki Ice/Cd, Widow 46526
HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

Oh, hey, I didn't reply in this thread?!

Well, that changes NOW.

I have a lot of fun with all my characters, but yes, there are a few that are a notch above the rest. But the one I really love to play is

Brawling Humiliator. (Search the forums, I'm lazy. :P)

Bar none. Oh, I've got Thing of Bigness, and yeah, he's pretty fun too, what with SS/WP Bruteness, and Homeslicer, Claws/WP Scrapperness, and The Dawn Sisters, all Mind/ 'Trollers or Dom, and a gamut of good, evil, and something in between...

But Brawling Humiliator, Brawl/WP/Energy, is quite simply THE best evar character I've made. Not story wise, that'd be the Dawn sisters, but how he plays.

He can, if needed, just stand there (especially if buffed with something that negates -Def stuff) and taunt and smack everything about. Or he can stand in a group of, oh, 10 or so +2 minions and, in time, brawl them all to defeat. One time, I counted 22 minions, all getting ticked off at RttC and my taunting, and I just stood there, and took them all out.

Groups of 6 +6 minions AND LTs? Yep. Goin' down.

I *beat* the game, if you will, with Brawl. I got to level 50 solo street sweeping (not that I couldn't do a mission, just didn't want to with him), and what game in it's right mind lets you do that? This one. It was like playing chess with the various mobs and enemy types... "How can I beat these down and survive?".

Yep. Chess against CoH. Love love LOVE that character. He's the one I'll be playin' on the dreaded day, should it come to pass.

My most loved characters are not AT specific but rather the ones that I got to play with friends with.

The SuperTeams, started by TopDoc and then lead by Tribal Artist and then by the Justice Super Teamers and the Tanker Tuesday crew and the Repeat Offenders. These were the people and the characters that made the game fun.

There were the PVP leagues on Liberty back in the hey day of PVP with Hans Blix. The Hami raids with Lost Elf and the crew with my 1st 50 Cmdr. Tomalak.

I have played on all the servers on both sides since just after launch. I will and have missed the people behind the toons.

So my most beloved characters were all the different incarnations of Flux, Dr. Evil, and the rest of the toons I made on all the servers.

Alts on all servers, lvl 50 of every AT:
lvl 50 Heroes on all servers but; Pinnacle, Victory
lvl 50 Villains on all servers but; Guardian, Pinnacle, Triumph, Victory
Current Projects: Tanks
Official MOM of Tribal Alliance

I'm gonna throw in the one I was playing in beta (Cold Sludge) as a great char to play. He is/was a Bio/Ice tanker with Sorcery thrown in. He was a blast to play with all the control of ice added into the effects of Bio and topped off with some sorcery aoe fun.
Ice melee is one of the few melee sets that can take advantage of the sorcery aoe due to it's skiert effect. Ice patch becomes a setup of some serious damage.

The NA/Dual Pistol combo made for a very strong defender too. I was able to take on EBs and an AV (epic battle lasting an hour or more) with all the -dam and healing he could generate. Was gonna be a lovely char.

Hmm. Hard to pick just one... really hard.

Therra Paladina - first Peacebringer, back in issue 4, still played to now. It was fun going back to the enemies that had given her "original" (my first 50, an elec/elec blaster) trouble and pounding them into the ground. Plus plenty of good PVP memories with her.

Deadly Diana - my Thugs/Poison, the one that turned masterminds from "ugh, boring, I'm never going to play this again (thanks to my bot/ff) into "Huh, what do you know, I'm accidentally soloing AVs."

Those two just stick out, though most of them were a blast.

I have one of every defender and I have always loved my sonic/sonic defender because she is unlike any other defender. She has mez protection as well as resistance. (super weird for most squishies) debuffs that make bad guys into butter and make your personal dmg something decent to solo with. (horrible to solo with most defender. ff/rad defender = 45 min paper mish) a mass sleep to take them down one by one, knockback and every move you do is a debuff on the enemy. She is a very sturdy and not as easy to take down. I've always liked music as well,(went to a school of music/art) so making her a Muse made me love her even more. A little being of inspiration, running around and using her voice to make a difference in the world...hoping to be the turning tide in the endless fight. She was my first toon and the one I saw the world of c.o.h. with mainly. She not only helped protected some of the strongest, but she solo'd some of the strongest.

My other was my subtle shift from all defenders, to my second favorite AT. Tanks. The transition is a tough one , since they are nothing alike, but I was able to find a suitable host. Water shield became my bread and butter survivor. being a shield/ice tank, made her very unique. Able to lay down ice patch and provide defense to neighboring allies as well as to throw some slows and sleeps and (2)holds onto my enemies made her super fun and a great transition. A fantastic toon that didn't drop easily and always had a trick up her sleeve. A queen of all trades.

Which character was fave would vary based on mood and what i was into and especially if I was teaming up. That said, while I love my triple dark def (1st 50) and found a controller I really liked (gravity/RE/Forces tho Fire/Kin looked really effective but there were tons of them), the single character I loved most was likely my energy/mental manip/ele mastery blaster (even if my upstart water blaster is now surpassing him in survivability.) Note my icon here is a pic a friend took of Aleksander wearing a JingleJet (just cause it looks pretty)

His build is here: http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...93CCFF959BDAB1

That is easy.

Frosty Igloo is my favorite.

Arachnos soldier - Huntsman with a touch of Bane and more alternate identities than you can shake a stick at.

Working through the content 5 levels and a dozen alts at a time...

Vitality - Originally a WP/SS Tanker...then a SS/WP Brute when they came blueside.

For the most part...Vitality is and was my only character throughout the entire time I played CoH.

The Waitress, Mastermind on Freedom and the only character in any MMO I've ever tricked out at top level, and I've been playing since pre-EverQuest Ultima Online.

That's why this shutdown is particularly grating on me.
