Anyone Tried a Time Card now that Purchases are Disabled?

I'm curious if it will work (because other serial codes still work) for making an account VIP.

Has anyone tried this?

Someone reported in game that time cards are disabled.

Really!? Can we at least give all freemium players VIP access for the final hurrah of the game?

I'm really tempted to buy one off of Amazon, but others are saying their 30-day time cards will not change their status to VIP.

Hmm, I think I'll wait a couple of days and see what shakes out.

Most often, that error appears because you are trying to apply an EU code to an NA account, or vice-versa.

I'm getting that same message with a 60 day time card I just got, my VIP status expires on the 27th and I really wanna play to the end as a VIP

I get the same message. VIP expires on Tuesday for this one and I'd hate to not be able to post on the forums with this handle at the end.

"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."

You can't apply time cards now, so don't waste your money on them. I found out the hard way myself.

I *did* apply a "City of Heroes: Going Rogue Complete Collection" code to my 'premium' second account as of Sept 2 (yesterday, as of this writing) and it did switch to VIP. I'll hope this helps folks a bit maybe, but it looks like content expansions still functioned as of yesterday for bumping to VIP.

I had some time cards left, enough to get me though to the end on two accounts and applied them immediately upon seeing the announcement. I figured, it was money spent I would never get back anyway and I figured they would disable it eventually.
Guess I got lucky.

At the time it said "Playable until" on my accounts with the expiration date, but now it just says "Playable". Curious if that means it you're currently VIP if you will remain that way till the end. Not that we'll likely get any answers to that.
