He lived a long good life so there is nothing to be sad about.

One of my most favourite authors growing up. RIP.

It would be rude for me not to add my tribute given my login name. I still have all of the Stainless Steel Rat books and to this day it remains one of my all time characters and sci fi series.
This is a sad loss for sci fi lovers everywhere.

Harry Harrison wrote several books and stories that I have enjoyed over the years. His book, "Make Room! Make Room!" addressed an issue that once seemed to be an important issue, overpopulation. Jim DeGriz a/k/a The Stainless Steel Rat was a wonderful character contributed to the Science Fiction genre. Mr. Harrison will be missed.

Oh my, that IS sad news. 
Almost everything he wrote, I owned at one point or another, and certainly loved. He was an exceptional writer and definitely an inspiration to me AS a writer. He will be missed deeply.
