Sorcery Pool video
nice video to see the look
Thanks!
Too late to me to respec in beta.
I could easily, easily see myself getting Nature + Sorcery just to fully stack absorption. I used both Wild Bastion + Spirit Ward on a person and it looked like just around 40% absorption, which is pretty freaking sweet.

Hmm, I have mixed feelings about Rune of Protection..
I think the Endurance hit is too severe when coupled with the huge recharge time. I guess its a sort of "Defensive/Crashing T9" Power but in an AoE buff form.
I don't really see myself purchasing this set as-is, but I'm sure lots of folks will enjoy it.
I whipped up something quick in case you were curious as to how it looks.
The 5th power has a big 10 min recharge and lasts a minute. |

Yeah I've seen two people completely dismiss the entire set on the forums due to Rune of Protection not giving them what they want. I'm not sure that's fair.

Synapse has officially said that he's taking the crash out of Rune of Protection, so that won't be an issue for much longer.
It'll probably not be the best power for Melee types (who already have their own panic buttons), but the ability to give squishier classes a panic button (or, if you tend to go out of your way for Demonic/Archmage, a second panic button) is alone a pretty good deal.
Really, it has a little something for everyone (two ranged attacks - one with a new mechanism, a teammate buff, a panic button self-buff, and a transportation power). What's not to like? I'll probably be picking this up on the day of release.
(If there's five of them, one for each origin, and if they're priced at 400 PP each, I'll probably grab them all. If they're 800 each, I'll probably grab only two, but Sorcery will be one of those two)
Sounds like we are getting more origin-themed pool sets - someone just said on Youtube that Natural's origin pool is called Force of Will:
"It's roughly similar to this one, with a power that reduces an enemy's Def and Res while increasing your To-Hit, A ranged attack (Smash/Psi + KD), a travel power (a copy of Super Leap, but with a footstomp-like attack as a secondary power), a cone ranged attack (Smash/Psi + KD also), and a mini-panic button (+regen, +recov, +rech, +def)."

I like the power for a variety of reasons - the mez protection is the main one for my squishies, though. If you try to carry break frees for every mob that can mez in the late game you'll empty both your tray and email inbox on the first Malta mission you run into, so you're better off with purples and hoping you don't get hit. Throw in some recharge slotting and global recharge, and it's up roughly 25% of the time easily (50% of the time at the recharge cap) and available much earlier than you can even think about Clarion.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

Well, it's the "hunt 100" that's out of the way. Those Cold Demons don't spawn much except in one out-of-the-way area (and even there "much" is a relative term).
Edited to add: The same person who talked about .. um.. Schmorse of Schmill also commented again, giving the names of the three other power pools (and correcting himself that Schmorse of Schmill looks like Mutant, not Natural), with the caveat that the information is from the CoH Wikia and may not be accurate.
yay!
also, i just wanted to say Thank You JayboH, i really appreciate you taking the time to make videos for things. helps assuage my impatience when i'm at work, and is great for showing things without having to look them up in-game.
i actually wouldnt mind if there were links to videos like yours on the wiki...
